Lupine Lane is a school that serves early childhood. We also offer a variety of creative enrichment opportunities to toddlers, school age children, preteens, teens and adults. The knowledge and skills that people gain at Lupine Lane provide personal development and fulfillment for all ages. Lupine Lane is a place to cultivate creative expression as individuals grow, flourish and make the world a more peaceful, beautiful place.

History

Established in 2008.

In Barbara Cooney’s Miss Rumphius, Alice’s grandfather tells her that she must make the world more beautiful. When Alice grows into a woman, she decides to fulfill that goal by planting lupine seeds, which grow into tall, colorful blooms. The perennial flowers come back each spring to make the green hills vibrant with color and fragrance for all to enjoy.

When Lauren Boyle, Lupine Lane’s founder, was young, her father read her this book nearly every night. She was captivated by the idea of making a difference in the world and inspiring that same will in others.

Lauren has always had a hand in creative materials from paint to pasta making. It has been through these activities that she has gained a sense of fulfillment and self-confidence and naturally, she wanted to share these experiences. Through her travels, she found another joy: learning about other cultures. She combined the idea exploring creative endeavors with learning about other cultures and Lupine Lane was born.

Meet the Business Owner

Lauren B.

Business Owner

Lauren has been interested in education and human development for the entirety of her life. She mentored and tutored children throughout her time at Westlake High School. Upon entering The University of Texas at Austin, she became a nanny for a family with four wonderful, dynamic children. As an English major and Education minor, Lauren formally studied child development, child psychology, children’s literature, visual art studies, as well as learning and motivational development at both UT and The University of California at Los Angeles. After receiving her BA from UT in 2006, she furthered her studies through graduate work at The University of Sussex in England and is pursuing her Masters in Education. During her time in school and through her student teaching experiences in early childhood, elementary, middle and high school classrooms, Lauren realized an interest in guiding children to discover their creative abilities outside of the traditional curriculum.
