Excellent place to get away and just relax.

Yes, yes, yes! Two ladies both named Trisha run the place, and they do a great job! I stayed here while on a business trip, instead of a hotel for once. My cabin was just great, and the king bed was comfy. I wish I could have spent more time on my porch!
The pool area is nice, I felt like I was somewhere tropical. There is also a stage by the pool where they had live music on Friday and Saturday.
There’s a lot of neat artwork all over the property, but it’s not too much. I learned that most of the art is from trips the owner had made to Mexico.

Rockabillys, Greasers, Alternative folks this is your place! The List Parrot Cabins is one unique resort, not comparable to any other in Austin.
These good folks love South American art and offer a variety of cool, colorful cabins, each filled with fantastic memorabilia from Dia De Los Muertos, Lucha Libre or Frida Khalo. And most of the stuff is available for purchase! Even more, if you check out the Airstream wagon at the office, packed with goodies at reasonable prices.
The cabins are equipped with Futon beds, what’s not everybody’s gusto. To me they work fine, although my cabin provided just a queen bed for two. We had cabin C with a basic kitchen, big freezer and sweet bathroom. I highly appreciate that all towels were as colorful as the rest of the cabin and no plain whites. Perfectly equipped with everything you need for a stay. You’ll get new towels etc. at the office, if needed. And yes, no room service. This means no annoying knocking at the door at 9 in the morning. Sleep long, spend the day on your own veranda or at the small pool era, the amazing garden. Or have a chat with the nice manager, while he works on his vintage Ford Falcon. If you like, check out the bar area and have a couple of drinks with other guests, sit in the Hot Tub, surrounded by an army of celebrity rubber ducks. Every day you will find something new here. The cabins surely give a good picture for your next Facebook photos. As they stand alone, you won’t have any neighbours bothering you too it was surprisingly quiet anyway. If you are allergic against cat hair, tuff luck. Here’s a bunch of gorgeous kitties living. I loved to stay here and can’t wait to return next year.

I discovered Lost Parrot Cabins doing a Google search for a B&B near Austin and found the images intriguing. After sharing the link with some girlfriends, we planned a trip there in September 2011. We rented the (very secluded) La Bodega cabin for 4 days. It was a wonderfully relaxing get away and we all agreed we needed to come back. This is why I chose to host my 20^th Wedding Anniversary & Vow renewal at LPC.
This time I rented the entire resort for friends and family to come for a weekend of celebration. They came from Washington, Ohio, New Jersey and north Texas and the reaction was unanimous… Lost Parrot Cabins was the PERFECT place for US to celebrate 20 years together.
The resort offers accommodations for 25, various areas (indoors & out) to cook, eat and visit; a swimming pool, two hot tubs and trails to explore. There was something for every one of our guests from age 7 to 70! EVERYTHING is fun and brightly decorated. Cliff and Cat were present but not intrusive and very hospitable.
The rates are on the higher side but, Lost Parrot Cabins is a unique, laid back resort, perfect for fun-​loving folk looking to relax and celebrate nature — whether it is just a couples get away or a family reunion!
P. S. Local catering by Angelfood Catering will complete any reunion experience!

I freaking LOVED this place and would live here if I could. (Hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink, lightening and thunderbolts!)
OK, well, while I’m waiting on my rent-​free tenant invitation in the mail, I’ll share with my fellow Unilocalonians why:
1. The décor and detail is so unique! I stayed in the Little Miss. Magic bungalow (oh, how did they even KNOW — when art imitates my life! JK). .. and it was appointed to excruciating detail. It was just — every corner, nook and cranny was flawless and had something cool. Lots of cool textiles, interesting and whimsical Guatemalan art, and heavy religious themes (how can you NOT feel pure in a Virgin Mary curtained shower?)
2. DVD library. Extensive. Free. What else is there to do when you’re at a cabin and it’s raining? Movies!
3. Helpful staff, yet not-​in-​your face. (Again, I think the point of secluded getaways is seclusion). It was nice to know someone was there on property, but that they were out of sight. Troy — despite the plumbing problem, you were so helpful. Thanks!
4. Seclusion. Yet, walkability/​drivability to Lake Travis and hot-​spots such as. . The Oasis! (Which is now it’s own city? News to me)
I think that merely scratches the surface. If you’re looking for a really unique, VERY impressive, and weirdly charming experience that specializes in keeping Austin weird — look no further. :)

We stayed here in 2006 and LOVED it! The décor is definitely creative and owner charming and open. You almost feel like you’re staying with family. It’s in a secluded area too, so it’s truly a getaway. It’s not a bargain, but the ambiance is worth it. I wish I could live there!
