Lone Star Maids

This cleaning company is so terrible, i just fired them. But since they could care less about my measly $ 100 a month, I wanted to write in hopes it would give them pause to think that you can’t suck so bad and not expect other people to hear about it.
First of all, they NEVER got the time right. I repeatedly told them to not show up until 9am and they just ignored me, showing up when i was on important conference calls or in my robe.
Secondly, after the initial cleaning, the service went far south. They weren’t even moving barstools to clean the floor underneath. I hoped maybe it was a one time thing, but the caliber of cleanliness was consistently mediocre– i could have done a better job myself– and would have if I was getting paid to.
Lastly and the final straw after about 6 months of poor performance, my cleanings have always been scheduled on the 20^th of each month. If that falls on a weekend, they typically call you to reschedule for a weekday. After not receiving a call, I called them to let them know I had company coming in town and wanted to move my clean to Thursday. The girl agreed and said that would work and repeated the date back to me.
No one ever showed. So i immediately called Friday morning to see if someone could come asap before my company arrives. The man I spoke to did not even seem to care and said the girl who took my call «has been going through a lot». Totally unprofessional. On top of that, he said no one could come today so I was basically SOL. I told him to go ahead and take me off the schedule. The thing is i know he doesn’t care bc I represent such a tiny fraction of their revenue, but you can’t put a price on word of mouth advertising. And this company just pissed off a copywriter on her day off.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU’RE LOOKING FOR MORE HASSLE THAN A CLEAN-​ISH HOUSE IS WORTH.

Service was not good. I was only looking for a cleaning of an empty house. The house had been cleaned a little by the prior tenants. So, this seemed like a really easy job to me for professional maids. The ladies that came to my house seemed lazy, at the least slow. I caught them talking on their cell phones and not cleaning several times. I had already expressed concerns to the company that they were charging me by the hour. But, I was reassured that the maids worked quickly and did a very thorough job. I had instructed them that they couldn’t use bleach on one of our bathrooms, because it had been refinished. They seemed to take that to mean, don’t bother cleaning it, as they left easy to remove soap marks in the soap dish and shampoo on the shower wall; the bathroom was untouched. I had to completely clean that room myself. The things they «wiped down» were streaked, aka blinds, cabinets, walls. I wanted to have the house cleaned because I didn’t want to do it myself. I ended up having to do more cleaning after the «professionals» left. They didn’t charge me at first, and I had believed that the maids had told their boss about my disappointment and they were not charging me because of that. It turns out that they had somehow they didn’t get my credit card number correct. Weeks later, they called me to ask me if I could give them my credit card number again. I explained how unhappy I was with the job, and we negotiated another amount to be charged. Then, when I see the charge on my credit card is was for more than the amount we had agreed upon. I called and left messages to be called back three times. Then, since no one would call me back to discuss the overage, I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I did the right thing and told my credit card company about the agreed upon amount, so they did get their money, minus the overage. Though, I still feel strongly that I overpaid. They never sent a receipt as I asked them to do, and which they promised, several times.
I had been worried about using a maid at all, first time, but the house was empty and had been pre-​cleaned by the prior tenants.

3 months later, not too happy. Although the cleaning itself was fine, I repeatedly had scheduling mix ups, no shows, shows on wrong day, no communication, etc. i tried to resolve withthem. Got apologies but no improvement.
Called boardwalk now.

I was very much pleased with the service Lone Star Maid Service provided me as I was moving out. The cleaning was thorough and they kept me informed as to what was happening. I recommend them — you won’t be disappointed.

We recently purchased a home and the sellers arranged for Lone Star Maids to clean our home prior to move in. There were notes clearly posted that the floors had been redone and there was dust everywhere. Upon move in there was still dust all over the cabinets. The 2^nd bathroom toilet had not even been throughly cleaned. I left my contact Kyra two messages that the service had been unsatisfactory and she never returned my call. I am looking for a house cleaning service and hoped Lone Start would be it, but it will not be.

Be careful with your credit card/​debit card info you give them. They run your card 3 times for $ 100 to hold a service. Then they tell you they will send you an invoice via email but don’t– they just run the card you gave them to hold the service. Service was okay, but not worth the time spent dealing with billing issues… too many other services out there.

Do not hire these people. I paid $ 200 for a two-​person crew to be here for 2 hours and work off of a specific list (priority to clean the floors, toilets and kitchen, and if time allowed, do other stuff). They cleaned what they wanted, did stuff I didn’t ask (made the bed), and did a horrible job of the items they attempted (floors still had visible dirt/​hair), kitchen stove still had white residue from cleaner all over the burners and stove front). My biggest complaint is that contacting the manager TWICE did not result in a returned call or email, let alone a re-​clean, which is what should have been offered for that much money. I have had much better service from other cleaning companies.

I had a big mess on my hands. The ladies from Lone Star Maids, came over and did a stellar job in my home. I was extremely pleased with the service.

We used Lone Star Maids to clean our new house before we moved in, as the previous owner had a lot of dust, dirt, and animal hair around the place. Considering the house was completely empty we were hoping for a thorough deep clean including washing floors, deep clean of fixtures and cleaning fans, wiping down baseboards, etc. Unfortunately this did not occur on the first go-​around. To their credit they sent the crew back out in the afternoon to redo the problem areas. While it still was not what we were completely looking for we were much more satisfied after the second trip.
Additionally, when I did call to complain the owner did not question my assessment and immediately offered to send the maids back.
Bottom line, great customer service (which is hard to come by these days), okay quality of work.

While initially I was pleased with the work Lone Star Maids did for me, (after taking a quick spin around the house), it seems that unfortunately they left several details hanging. I asked them to do a move-​out special clean on my apartment, the understanding being (from both my end and the language on their website) that they would know how to get the place clean enough to pass a landlord’s inspection. After getting nailed by my landlord (financially speaking), I looked at his photos and saw why (partly, that’s for another review); the maids left cleaning film in the oven, some kind of greasy spot on my living room floor, a noticeable spot in the hallway, didn’t clean the bathroom floor well, didn’t vacuum up some kitty litter around where the litter box was, and failed to clean out a drawer in the kitchen and a cupboard where the trashcan was kept. These all sound like little piddly things, but as you probably know, landlords live to deduct from security deposits, so attention to detail was really the name of the game here.
I didn’t notice these things because I was so tired after moving that I only took the most superficial look at the place, and by the time my landlord hit me with the Photos and Deductions of Doom and I argued with him a bit, it was well past the time frame for a refund. So sadly, due to a crappy confluence of events, I’m screwed here. So while I’m sure that Lone Star would do a fine job on routine maintenance or anything simple you just don’t feel like handling yourself, I must honestly report that they aren’t on top of things detail-​wise. Someday I’ll find a housecleaning service that gets everything clean for a move-​out inspection, but that White Knight has yet to find me. Le sigh.

I purchased an excellent offer for LSM off Living Social for a move out cleaning. I had some issues initially getting the job completed but Jess (the owner I believe) called me IMMEDIATLEY after I sent her an email about my frustrations and was MORE than reasonable. The finished work was thurough and excellent, I was VERY happy with the final results and their Service. Highly recomend them because they are concerned with customer satisfaction.

I have a dirty little secret. Literally. It’s called my apartment. And it’s dirty.
Or rather, it was.
Today I took advantage of a Living Social deal for half off Lone Star Maids. I paid $ 75 for a 2-​hour maid service, and let me tell ya, my apartment needed it. I just came back, and my apartment is immaculate. The bathroom floors are gleaming. The dishes are done. The surfaces and mirrors are sparkling. It’s awesome.
It would have taken me all day, lots of «I hate cleaning» breaks, and a temper tantrum or two for me to have done this myself, and it still wouldn’t have probably turned out this great. I am SO happy. I’m definitely putting Lone Star Maids in my speed dial for the next time my family comes for a visit. My dirty little secret is no more!
