Lily Pad

This place is may be little but it has a lot. I recommend this place for anyone looking for mid century gems, this is definitely it. The ladies that work hear are really friendly and very helpful. They recently expanded from the first time i shopped here so it is great to see good small business growing and getting the local support.

We just got married and bought a house and figured it was time to upgrade our furniture from the mish-​mash of stuff that we’ve had since college. We are really into mid-​century style and were often discouraged by the prices we seemed to be finding for good quality mid-​century furniture. Then we went to Lily Pad and could hardly contain ourselves. We found so many great options and ended up leaving with 4 pieces for under $ 1k. At other places we had seen similar pieces for about that price EACH. Their inventory is bigger than you would expect from the outside, it’s the perfect middle ground between quality and price, and the customer service is outstanding. They deliver for $ 50, which is super reasonable. Our house is finally starting to reflect our style and we are excited to keep coming back! Thank you Jenn and Shannon, see you again soon! There was a time (this weekend) when I was cruising the streets for a stereo and record player console. Very specific hopes and dreams. Having spotted a few on Rooms Vintage’s Instagram account, I arrived there to find they were both non-​functioning and far too small for my available space. Just prior to this realization, I had partaken in a 2-​hour bubble festival. I say this only so that you can understand my determination in finding the perfect console, with great urgency. Unilocal pointed the way to Lily Pad. Unilocal is a solid wingman.
Lily Pad had 3 or 4 stereo record playing consoles, a variety of other lovely furniture and décor, and a guy with two beers in his pockets who said he came from Nantucket to buy a lot of stuff. One of the consoles in the front of the store had a built-​in fake fireplace on the lower half and a Ron Burgundy style record player pull-​out up on the top, which really meant the world to me but wasn’t quite my aesthetic.
Shannon, the amazing fellow who repairs and prepares things at Lily Pad, led me and two-​beers guy (from Nantucket) to the back room, where I fell in love — not with the Boston-​based romancer, but with a gorgeous walnut console. But we weren’t sure if it was functional or not. Shannon worked on it for a bit adding speakers while I wondered how serious Nantucket Homeslice was about snagging this thing. During the wait our friend whipped out beer #2 and became ever stranger, citing romantic musical references and alluding to the grandeur of his (likely non-​existent) empire while assuring me he didn’t want me to know about his empire at all, really.
So this is what happened: Nantucket Ladies Man went to the bathroom. Shannon nodded approval as I shuffled on out of the store, having left my contact information for updates on the console. Shannon texted me later to let me know he’d gotten the speakers to work. I returned the next day to inspect and purchase the lovely piece, which had not been swiped from under me by our supposedly world-​class, globe-​roaming Romeo.
Later, when it was safe, we had a good laugh about it. Shannon did an amazing job getting the sound to work and not handing over my contact details to random strangers. Jennifer, the store owner, apologized profusely for the events that had transpired which I appreciated but, let’s face it: you probably wouldn’t have enjoyed this review as much otherwise.

Excellent new vintage store in Austin. Really nice mid-​century items at reasonable prices. Will definitely go back soon. If you liked Vacancy Road that closed on S. Lamar earlier this year, you will like this place. It does have a bigger selection but it’s the same vibe.

I stopped by Lily Pad Saturday on my hunt for a set of mid-​century side tables. This was my first visit in the store where I would find myself stepping into a world of beautifully kept mid-​century furniture. Upon entering Jennifer, the owner, greeted us and offered assistance. She made you feel welcome in her shop which translated to a pleasant shopping experience. After spending bout 20 minutes dreaming about having every single piece loaded into my home, we found the PERFECT table. I instantly grabbed Jennifer to obtain a price as this particular table had just been unloaded into the store. She gave a very reasonable price so we instantly took it off her hands.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t a set so we still needed one additional table, so we tried several other shops in town without any luck. We came home and searched every avenue on the Internet and just weren’t having luck — I even considered a DIY solution. BUT I wanted to check out Lily Pad one more time since they were unloading new merchandise into the store during my Saturday visit.
The next morning, we made a second visit which I’m happy we did! I found the perfect little nightstand/​side table to use for my project. The table needed a little TLC, but I didn’t care. We had to have it in our home. Jennifer assisted us again and was extremely helpful. This time she gave me a lesson on how to clean the table and reduce the scuffs and scratches.
I’m so happy that we found this place! We will definitely be frequenting this store in the future for more treasures. Please make a visit and fall in love for yourself! Its totally worth the visit!

Lily Pad is awesome! I was looking for a mid century night stand and walked out with a beautiful mid century side table and clock. They recently expanded their space to fit more items I was told. I will definitely be back!

Great mid-​century furniture at very reasonable prices. I bought two tank desks and will return here when I’m looking for the next gem.

My husband and I spent our weekend driving to any and all consignment, vintage, and antique shops. By far, Lily Pad had the best prices and an excellent assortment of eclectic pieces. The owner and her staff were very helpful and friendly. We bought two side tables for our bedroom and will certainly be making future purchases from Lily Pad. The furniture selection was all in very good to excellent quality. I highly recommend Lily Pad!

As others have said, Lily Pad definitely has some of the best prices you’ll find at any consignment store especially considering the quality of their pieces. Going to most thrift or vintage shops often leaves me overwhelmed because I’m often attacked with sensory overload. One of the things I love most about Lily Pad is how obvious it is that their furniture is hand picked by the store owner. You don’t need to wade through a bunch of miscellaneous or gaudy items that serve no purpose because everything is so carefully arranged in the floor space.
I would really recommend checking this shop out if you’re looking for some furniture to give your home some character!

Out of all of the thrift stores in Austin, Lily Pad is our new favorite! We’ll be going back soon and definitely checking in on a regular basis to see the latest items.

We went in for first time and walked out with His and Hers chairs, table and lamp! They have amazing, unique pieces at great prices!!! Great quality! Worth checking out frequently as shipments arrive! Owners are super nice and helpful.

Seriously some of the best mid-​century pieces I’ve seen out there. Prices are less than you’d pay at any other store of their caliber here in town. Loved it, love our chairs:)

Great furniture. I am obsessed with their banana desk, and some of the side tables. The prices are very good and I can’t wait to go back this weekend, as I have picked two items (and yes you guessed it, the banana desk is number one!). I highly recommend this little known gem if you are in the market for top notch mid century modern.

I think this place just opened and has a lot of really cool mid century modern furniture and accoutrements. We picked up an awesome credenza at a good price. Prices are fair unlike other mid century places around. The owner was super nice and eager to please. Hope this place makes if as it has some nice stuff from the period. Check it out!
