History

Established in 1991.

I started my personal injury practice in 1991 when I helped a young woman whose husband was killed when he hit a cow in the middle of the road at midnight. His car went into a culvert and overturned. No other lawyer was willing to take the case. I told her that I would help her.

After doing a thorough investigation and getting out there and knocking on doors, I found the owner of the cow who admitted that he knew that his cow got out and that he hadn’t bothered to go and look for it. It took quite some time to figure this case out.

After obtaining more than $½ M dollars for this young widow, and after seeing what my efforts did to help her in her deepest moment of despair, I decided that this is what I wanted to do with my life.

My secretary of 20 years is still with me, and together with our team, we help people who have been injured or killed by acts of negligence, by drunks, by hit and run drivers, 18-​wheelers, and by people talking or texting on cell phones.

I have lived in Austin since 1988. I have dedicated my law practice to helping people in bad collisions who need help. I have two great kids (twins) so I know the value of hard work! I love what I do, and I love the fact that our clients become our friends. Often times we know our clients better than their good friends know them.

In 2000 I took an 8 month sabbatical to learn the art of film-​making. I brought that art back into my law practice where I shoot and produce documentary videos of our clients’ cases, especially where the case involves serious disabling injuries. These videos marry the art of lawyering and the art of film-​making to present the most compelling story of our clients’ cases. It’s effective and we know no other way to practice.
