Let me start by saying we initially worked with a salesman at Leif Johnson who was great. His name was Dennis Williams and he was polite and worked hard to earn your business. However once we made a decision on a car and agreed to a price then the unprofessional business practices started. We agreed to a price and specifically told them we did not want any warranty or LoJack system. When we came back to the paperwork and were awaiting financing options, a sales manager came up to us, did not introduce himself, and rudely told us that we had to pay the extra $ 499.99 for the LoJack because it was pre-​installed. We said no, that we would not pay anything more than the advertised sales price. He then told us that he would just sell the car to someone else because he’s not losing money on this car. So Leif Johnson will not sell anyone a car unless you purchase the LoJack which is not included in the advertised sales price. I have never been treated so disrespectfully as a customer anywhere, especially considering we did not haggle one bit for the actual price of the car. We were shocked they would treat customers like this, so we walked out. Leif Johnson will never get our business, and please be aware of their unprofessional business practices before doing any business with them.

I purchased an 09 chevy silverado 126,000 miles on 12−23−15, for about 15,500. No warranty was offered from dealer due to mileage. I asked the manager Ben C., «what happens if something major happens?» His response was, if it was major they would help, (standard salesman line) they wouldn’t want to sell me a truck that needed major work because that looks bad. Ok…, I thought, if its major and happens quickly, atleast i know they will stand behind what they are selling me.
On 02−05−16, 44 days later or 1,300 miles since leaving the dealership, the engine light came on. I towed it to a chevy dealer immediately. $ 5,200 estimate to repair lifters and camshaft. Dealerships are expensive so i got a 2^nd estimate. They determined same problem as dealer did. Same repair job was $ 3,600.
I call Lief Johnson and spoke with Adam S. who had sold me the truck. He was empathetic to my situation. He advised he wanted to help, he would have to go up the chain. Legally, they didn’t have to do anything.
One week later I spoke with Todd at the central location. He was a nice guy. Todd’s suggestion was instead of repairing the engine, i should just buy a «used» motor due to cost being less than what the dealer quoted for repair.
(I just spent 15 grand 44 days earlier and now i need a new motor!!! Obviously i was not happy)
Todd offered $ 80 hourly labor rate instead of their normal $ 122 hourly rate on labor. I would pay full cost of parts. Keep in mind, $ 80 hourly is what you will find at any repair shop. I was hoping for a better offer on the labor rate, maybe some help on parts. Again, legally they didn’t have to offer me anything.
I just couldn’t bring myself to hand over another $ 3,500 to the same place who put me in the truck in the first place.
So if shopping for a (used) engine before you make your first car payment is something you want to enjoy, I suggest going to Leif Johnson.

Shady, deceptive business practices. Would not recommend. Had to walk out yesterday after they had no problem telling me to my face that they are dishonest, and will never consider another vehicle from this dealer.
What I’m referring to is the $ 500 LoJack fee.
While the sticker on the windshield of the car clearly states that if you want to service, they will transfer it to you for a one time fee of $ 497, and if you don’t want it, they will deactivate it at no charge.
What isn’t clear by the text in the sticker is that the $ 497 is non negotiable, and if you don’t want it there is no fee because they will not sell you the car.
That’s where my disgust with this dealership comes in. Had they just priced car $ 500 higher, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. But telling me when I come in that something is optional and then later telling me oh yeah by the way no it’s not optional and you will pay it or you will not buy the car, yeah not an acceptable way to do business in my book.

II was referred to Sales Manager Tom Bobb at Lief Johnson when I was ready to upgrade my ride… The whole crew of staff made my experience light hearted and stress free. Drove away with a new explorer with lower payments and feeling confident with my purchase .I was sure that was giving my business to the right folks… Tom called me to check how things were going and dropped my floor mats when they came in… Very impressive for a very busy man. Its rare to find such professionals… Highly Recommeded

This was an awesome car buying experience! I went in looking at an older car 2008 but Marcos said we could do better and thanks to him and Erik I’m in a nice 2013 Fusion and I love it! Marcos gave me a ride to turn in my rental, moved all my stuff from the rental to the Fusion, excellent customer service! Thank you !

Had a great buying experience here today. Adam was very helpful and professional during the whole process. He is definitely passionate about his job, with an extensive knowledge of the products and services available. I will definitely recomend this car dealer to all my friends and family!

If you want to get good customer service, do yourself a favor and don’t come here. The add $ 495 Lo-​Jack price at the end that is non-​negotiable and personally, I do not feel it should be added if we don’t want it.
If you want a place where they don’t negotiate the price either, this is your kinda place. They absolutely will not lower their prices and state that they are comparable to others. This part is NOT true. I have gone to many a car dealerships, and unless it states the price is the only price, which they don’t, you should be able to ask to negotiate. I feel they are shady with how they do not state that up front, just like the Lo-​Jack being added to price.
Moreover, if you plan on trading in your car, save yourself the frustration. They offer you a price comparable to the Kelly Blue Book and use NADA. However, they deduct approximately $ 1500 from your trade-​in, to do a so-​called comprehensive check and detail of YOUR car they they will sell to someone else. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I just can’t believe they charge you for what they should do anyway, and for a car they will ultimately get more money than they give you for.
They have little to no communication, and one of their managers lacks any customer service skills. Don’t even get me started on what they did once I did sign to get a car. Needless to say that after 4 days of still not having it and not being informed on a daily basis of status, I came to my senses and cancelled the deal.
I did notice that they would not have filled my new (used) car I purchased from them with gas, as others had reviewed them and wrote this. I simply think it is a shame they cannot be better for as big as they are. Where I come from, local dealerships that are decently big, know how to take care of customers.

I actually started with three stars, but switched it because «Meh, I’ve experienced better». Truthfully though I have experienced worse, just know what you’re looking at and you can get a good deal.
Frustrations:
1: THEY HAVE A NOT QUITE HIDDEN $ 500 FEE FOR LO-​JACK ON ALL CARS. Non negotiable. It isn’t listed in the price of the car, and they won’t tell you about it until they bring you the final quote, so it is a big surprise. Then they will swear up and down that they told you about it, and blame you for not listening. Well, since communications were done through emails, we have proof that it wasn’t mentioned. If the car weren’t at KBB price we would have walked out. If it had been a new car, and we could have gotten it elsewhere, we would have walked out. They were lucky. If we had been told up front, we wouldn’t have cared and would have still purchased the car. Oh, and BTW State Farm doesn’t give a discount for the lo-​jack.
2. A sensor was out on the car, pushed in to the body of the car. They kept saying they didn’t have the time then to have it fixed, but guaranteed that I could get it fixed for free. When I asked how it could have happened an excuse was made that kids get in to the lots all the time and do damage. Ummm… Why not just say «Shit happens when we work these cars over and we missed it»? The weekend I took the car home, my husband decided to see if he could fix it himself so I didn’t have to take it to the 2222 (out of the way) store for service. It ended up being a 5 minute fix, except for the fact that someone had already tried to fix it but didn’t. All of the clips that secure the plastic under-​body protection to the bump were gone. Every single one of of them. It took longer to find the right sized clip than to fix the problem of just moving the sensor back in to place. The easy to fix problem and the missing clips should have been caught during the 200 point inspection of the car (or was caused during the inspection), as it does make it a driving hazard if the plastic hits the wind just right and comes off under the car while you’re driving.
3. And this was the clincher for the 2 stars: Since it was pouring rain the day I purchased the car they promised to fill the gas and wash it if I brought it back. Since I needed to get them the title to the old car anyway, I went back the next day they were open. They did what they said the would do, and on top of that they changed every single setting they could possibly change. The seat was moved out of place, the steering wheel setting was moved, even the radio station was changed. I’ve never had someone mess with the settings of my car when servicing it before, so I didn’t even think to check, and noticed on the highway that my seat was lifted to the highest position (I’m 6′ so it is always dropped to the lowest position as soon as possible) and pulled forward, the steering wheel was moved, etc. WFT?
I truly don’t mind mistakes. I make them myself. What I do mind is excuses instead of accountability. I felt hustled not respected with the excuses. Some kid didn’t poke the sensor in to the car, it was messed up during an inspection. That’s be best answer I can come up with for why every single clip was gone and it wasn’t fixed. Don’t hide a $ 500 charge and then blame us for not hearing you. That isn’t something you slip in at some point while the customer is distracted, make sure people hear you clearly. Better yet, just put it in the purchase price up front! And don’t mess with the car settings the buyer has set! That was just irritating!
This doesn’t mean I won’t go to them for my next car. Dennis is a good guy and was really cool about the fact that not only did we keep him there on a night that everyone else got to go home early because no one wants to buy a new car in the rain but us, but we kept him after hours to finish he sale, they gave me a good deal on the car and a great price for my trade-​in, and even on the extended warranty. I will just know what to look for and expect when /​if I use them again.

This group of people made it possible for us to get a car. It wasn’t easy, but they accommodated and guided us every step of the way. Super friendly, straight-​forward people. :)

Adam did a great job listening to what I was looking for and I highly recommend that you go see him if you’re looking for a used car. He already had a minivan moved over from one of the other locations by the time I was able to come into the store. It’s such a delight that they have the resources from 4 other locations to draw from.
And then the manager, Erick was able to find me a great interest rate to finance my minivan. I tried to beat it on my own by searching USAA’s rates, but the rate he was able to get me was better. I wish I hadn’t put the ding on my credit, but I wanted to verify that I got a good interest rate. I love that when they told me it was a good rate, they delivered on what they said.
Fastest car buying experience I’ve ever had in my 30 years of driving!

I just bought a 2014 Ford Focus today from Leif Johnson. The past week I have gone to a few different dealers as well as other dealers in the past. Pretty much every one screwed me around and told me whatever they thought I wanted to hear only to find the deal was anything but what I wanted. Finally I came here. It was one of the recommended dealers from my credit union. I met with Chris Yudin. I explained what I needed and my situation. Not only did he not BS me he told me straight up what I could and needed to do. Finally! After all the nonsense I went through previously I had some one help me and tell me the truth. That’s all I wanted. Needless to say I got a car in my payment range and got out from my other car. Also the finance guy Ryan fisher was awesome. He explained everything perfectly. It was a great experience. I highly recommend this dealer as well as Chis and Ryan. Thank you!

I spent hours researching for a used SUV and not only did they have the best car but the best deal. From the first call Adam was extremely friendly and didn’t give me the used car salesman vibe. He actually cared about what I was looking for and wanted to find our family the right vehicle not just get a sale. He got me the car from another stores inventory and drove it up to the North store just for me to look at, no sales pressure. I couldn’t be happier with our new car. They beat the bank on financing and all around gave me a great experience.

Between my wife and I we have bought 6 cars with Leif Johnson and have nothing but the best experiences which is why we have continued to support them over the years. Ben Celis and his team of professionals are amazing, not pushy, very attentive, and honestly are the best in the business IMO. Not only are they great with me but every person I refer to them has the same amazing experience! No «used car guy» stuff going on here as their just simply a delight to work with!!!

I had an amazing experience at Leif Johnson. Customer service is the number one priority, and it shows the way your treated. Every customer treated with the upmost respect and the staff will go out their way to make you happy. Adam went well beyond the duty of a car salesman to help purchase my vehicle. I will definitely be back when it’s time to buy another vehicle and I will definitely ask for Adam again.

We had an amazing experience with Leif Johnson. Adam our salesman responded very quickly when I scheduled a test drive and was very helpful. We had a couple of little issues with the car and the store manager Ben stepped up and remedied everything right away and was dedicated to making us happy customers. I am impressed at their dedication to making the customer happy.

I’ve never been treated so horribly by a manager of a company. After days of excruciating haggling on an unreasonable price for a 2 year old car, I finally made another trip into the dealership– only to be lied to blatantly to my face by a manager, Ben. When I called him out on the lies (yes, multiple ones), he looked at me like a deer in the headlights and gave me more lies as answers. Finally I left the Godforsaken place, and was able to get a BRAND NEW version of the car (yes, NO miles on it– and it even had a better package installed) for only $ 1500 more. Suck it, Leif Johnson, and your too-​high prices and lies. The only saving grace was a salesman named Chris who was so nice, patient, and actually wanted to work with me on a deal. He’s the only reason why this place even gets one star.

Jason was so helpful and went out of his way to get me a car at the price I wanted. I’m very stubborn and he was so patient. Even though I decided to wait and not purchase the car today, I highly recommend them. Customer service is alive and well, even for difficult customers like myself. Thanks Jason!

As most of us usually think we certainly don’t go to a car dealership looking for honesty. I did find an Exception to this when I met Erik Smith. He will get you the best deal possible. He listens to your needs and gives very insightful suggestion.

I spoke to a LOT of salespeople while looking for a small, reliable, used car with excellent gas mileage. Stephanie Hayes at the Leif Johnson Superstore North was the best salesperson I worked with, and ultimately found me the best deal.
I really appreciated her confident but not at all pushy demeanor and the way she listened to exactly what I wanted and didn’t press anything on me that I didn’t want. Stephanie mentioned that she’s been doing this a long time, and with what sounded like nicer cars, and I believe her.
The only reason I’m giving my experience ⁴⁄₅ stars instead of 5 is because I’ve barely had a chance to drive my car yet and Stephanie wound up (expertly) balancing 3 sets of customers one time I was there so I had to wait a while. However, that just seems like further proof that people want to work with this woman.
If you are a young woman buying her first car who wants to be treated with respect, I recommend Stephanie Hayes.
