I got roofied my first and only time at this dirty bar. I would have loved to contact management to let them know to watch out for their customers better, but I’m not seeing any website contact to do so.

Classic small to medium size music venue, with a huge bar to make sure everyone will be lubricated as quick as possible by the efficient friendly bar staff. Pretty good vibe, nothing outstanding just like the low key décor. We saw here at the SXSW festival the Libertines with Carl Barat and a few other British bands. Even so the bars were super long there were no bar seats and that was certainly missing to have a moment to sit down and enjoy a little comfort. Tip: Try to wear comfortable shoes when you visit this venue, as here is only standing.

Awesome place. I can’t believe the drinks were so cheap here! Granted the $ 2.5 Jagerbombs were a bit small, you’ll probably never find anything close to that price anywhere else(especially up North, where I’m from). My boyfriend and I stopped in one night to pregame before checking out the rest of the«Dirty 6th.» It was pretty empty when we walked in, there were still chairs out on the open floor and a live band was playing. They were phenomenal on stage. Really chill bar with great drink prices and live music. Would come back again if I’m ever in Austin.

Clean the sticky floor — GROSS. It was only 8:30 pm and shouldn’t have been that bad yet. Live monthly house band was OK. Instinctively knew not to order anything more complicated than vodka tonic. Probably OK if you’re new to being legal and don’t care so much.

$ 2.50 Jagerbombs and beer! Can’t beat this price anywhere. People call this the cheap Asian place to go to, and that’s the main reason why I checked it out too. I actually didn’t see any Asians here though, even on a Friday night. It was funny. But I ended up chilling at this bar for a lot longer than expected. Made some new friends here, and let me tell you, the people here are nice. They will randomly buy you and the bartender a drink, even though they don’t know you. I had two guys buy me drinks just for the heck of it. This is a great place to start and end the night. I know it’s not as poppin’ as other places on 6th street, but I liked it a lot.

I’m giving my rating based on a Saturday late afternoon. Awesome house blues band, attentive, easy on the eyes bartender, great happy hour prices $ 2. Bombs, domestic cold beers & wells. Nice place to start the night off.

Are you kidding me… Went on sat night 2⁄8 and ordered a Bombay/tonic and dirty martini. The bartender who I am guessing knows how to open a beer and that’s about it poured me a tonic and ice with a splash of gin in a plastic cup. Then she proceeded to pour vodka and ice in the shaker… then…grabbed the tub of olives and dumped them in the shaker. What a joke. Seemed like a good jazz band but will never go back… just gross.

By far the best bar/club on 6th street, don’t waste your time anywhere else. I could come here twice a weekend, close down the bar both nights, and still not get tired of it. If you want a great time, look no further.

Here, you will find: elephants and zoo keepers dancing on stage, rude bartenders, sloppy Asians, yellow fever, and watered down Jagerbombs. After they kick you out at 2AM, do not be alarmed of the massive crowd that stands around and solicites the establishment. This is normal. Pro tip: If she looks under 21, she probably is. If she looks under 18, she probably is. Be careful.

Bachelorette party weekend in full effect and we were looking for some dancing/club scene. Came here on a Friday night(a bit early in the evening I should admit) and dancing we did not. Instead we were met with a rock band… I think? With a creepy lead singer and an elder man bopping up and down, front row recording their set. But not hating on the guy, more power to him. You gotta love what you love, right? Either way, from what I remember we took a bridal party shot here and the bartender was nice and chatty and very generous with that patron. If my tolerance for alcohol wasn’t say… negative 50, I probably would have appreciated it more, and not wanted to die a little bit right there and then. Other than that, slightly disappointing and strange, but we came at the wrong time and night. So, it was onto the next…

Oh, Latitude. What can I say about you? I didn’t like you in college and I like you even less now, but somehow I found myself coming back to you thanks to a series of unfortunate events and unwise decisions. 2 minutes after 2 shots of $ 2 jagerbombs, and I was stumbling out the door. 2 star experience, both then and now. Frankly, I’m amazed this place is still open.

It’s weird. I never knew there were clubs really on 6th street because even the ones I did see which were«clubs» were really just another venue as a bar where people go in and grab drinks. People don’t really dance around here so when I found out about Latitutde I was a little curious. Plus I also heard there was an overwhelming population of one specific type here, haha … it turned out to be quite true. Security is pretty nonexistent, as in they don’t really care what you’re doing and they’re pretty lax unless you’re looking to start a fight. There are way way way more men here than there are women in any one moment in time so. be prepared for a lot of drunken dancing with people you don’t know, won’t remember and probably don’t remember you either. Really poor ventilation, like most clubs. Definitely no Vegas or SF clubbing but it’s cool that Austin has a club scene… kind of… or a place you can dance!

For what it is, it’s as good as it gets. 2 Bars, never hard to get a drink, and if you go to one of the male bartenders you won’t have any complaints by the strength of the drink. It’s my favorite place to dance at the end of the night. Big asian crowd, but I’ve never had any problems with them. Security is very laid back and I’ve never had a problem with them. The big guy will remember you after only 2 visits. Shots at the beginning, dancing at the end. Great place to start and finish.

Place is a dump. Seriously. A bunch of underaged kids packed together like a can of sardines. It’s always an uphill battle having to maneuver your way around the place without having drinks spilled on you or having a drunk broad with 5 inch stilettos step on your feet. The only plus? Oh yeah, the watered down $ 2 jagerbombs. Hmm no thanks. I think I’ll pay a little more at another bar for something that doesn’t taste like carbonated sugar water.

My mother is always suggesting that I take a trip to Asia, the motherland. Why would I bother doing that, I think, if we have Latitude right here in downtown Austin? Every Friday and Saturday night, it looks like every asian, azn, and twinkie rolled up because of a $ 2 Jagerbomb drought. Oi. And a word on those Jagerbombs and other drinks at Latitude? Yes, they’re dirt cheap(perfect for group rounds) but are often watered down more than the DD girls at a wet T contest. But hey, I’ll take it– a $ 2 shot is a $ 2 shot. The décor and style(or lack thereof) in Latitude is astounding. A small, lonely disco ball rotates on the ceiling, bouncing glimmers of light off the plainest walls you’ll ever see. Lounge chairs are awkwardly placed around the room and the«stage» is approximately 2 inches off the ground. Still, people will come back for the cheap drinks, the easy check-in(college freshmen will discover that Latitude hires the blind to check ID’s), and the music. Haha jk. We don’t come back for the music.

Big fan of their $ 2 JagerBombs. It’s always packed and more often than not, I feel like this is an Asian chill pad. Large space for dancing with a good DJ. Just be sure to order before 1:45am or else the bar get belligerent with kiddos trying to buy that extra 5 shots of $ 2 JagerBombs.

Latitude is sort of like a joke to us, but also a very real part of the modern dirty sixth tradition. Part of the reason to love and hate 6th street. Our wild nights downtown start off at Latitude with a whole lot of $ 2 jaegerbombs, their never ending special. You can basically infer a lot of the clientele based on a drink special like that. No offense, but it blows my mind that people hang out here all night. Maybe that’s your scene. For those of you with any sense. Get in. Drink. Get out. Quick. We go there as our meeting point when everyone first rolls downtown, basically acknowledging that the night is not about being classy, being cool, or anything other than getting drunk. While there is often live music in there, its never been good when I’ve been there. Staff are friendly.

Their running special is $ 2 Jagerbombs… but I’m really not a fan. Jäger and me have never been too fond of each other. My group usually ends the night at latitude and each time, I ask myself«why?» This place is looking for drama. I don’t know how many times I’ve almost been hit by flying bottles and almost stepped on glass. Swarms of(asian) fraternities and sororities come here which is a formula for trouble. On the occasional good night, there’s great music to dance to(hip hop! I don’t know what to do with myself when it’s house or techno music), the restrooms aren’t too long, and it’s fun catching up with people outside especially when by that time, the alcohol sets it and you feel like you«love» the world.
