History

Established in 2010.

Owner-​operator Baines Kinnison started KAW in 2010 after serving for a few years as the FOH sound engineer for a regional touring band in Virginia called «Rainmarket». When the band folded, Kinnison decide it was time to move back home to Texas. Austin was obviously the place to be. After settling in for a year and working as a musician and writer for an art company, an opportunity arose to handle some production for some bands performing at charity event for the Blue Theater on Austin’s east side. «The idea to get my own sound & light company going had been brewing for several years at this point. The little event was the first production I did, and KAW was officially under-​way.»

25 years of experience as a working musician. Over a decade in live event production. KAW’s owner-​operator Baines Kinnison delivers plenty of bang for your buck while offering the best and brightest in audio and lighting technology. Serving the central Texas region since 2010, Baines has worked along side some of Texas’ most respected events, artists and organizations including High Beam, Tribeza, Localeur, SXSW, T-​Bird & The Breaks, Ray Benson, Ruby Jane, The Austin Food & Wine Alliance, PBS, ACL and Yelp to name just a few. To describe Baines well is to call him an efficiency expert. He’s an organizer too and works tirelessly to make efficient every package deployed for a client no matter how small or simple their needs are. It is this grand effort that defines KAW.
