King Florist

I have been shopping at King Florist for a number of years, I always purchased concrete planters from there for my home garden and recommend them to anyone who asks for arrangements and deliveries. Today I went in again to check out the store and ask about where the pots were manufactured so that I could be a conscious consumer and make sure they weren’t of child labor or terrible for the environment. They declined to give me that information so I left slightly upset saying I wouldn’t be able to send referrals anymore.
Next thing I know a short man is at my car window, I roll it down halfway to hear what he had to say and he yells at me for leaving the front door open stating, «we have to pay for AC». I did not know that their door wouldn’t close itself and because of his aggressive body language and tone of voice, I flipped him off. I started rolling back up my window and he TRIED TO SWING A FIST AT ME INTO MY CAR. He then tried to pull the handle open, but luckily the door was locked. He then took out his phone to take a picture of my license plate as If I had done something wrong that he wanted to report.
I have never been physically threatened like this by a business and I certainly didn’t expect it from a flower shop.
Update in regards to owner comment: I never said «FU» or made fun of the person’s accent. I couldn’t understand him because the window was being rolled down. I do not feel entitled asking by whom your pottery is manufactured. That is a pretty standard question for a consumer to ask, especially in Austin, TX. I was making casual conversation when I asked if they would go on sale again in July like they have in the past. That was not an offer to «buy it anyways at a discount.» I still needed to know whether I could trust the product, which I can’t. Physical violence is never acceptable and I sincerely hope the individual who threatened me finds some inner peace. Flowers should help!

During my career it was expected to send flowers to clients and service contacts. While living in Dallas I kept Mc Shan’s Florist and Dr. Delphinium’s on Lovers Lane busy. This year our schedules kept us from sharing Mother’s Day, so when the doorbell rang here in Austin, I was totally surprised to see flowers from my Dallas daughter… she above all knows how jaded I am in this regard.
I had to count the blooms after seeing how long they are remaining fresh, while they open to full flower. The container is a keeper, in fact I am excited at the prospect of filling it with a few succulents.
Austin is growing just like the Dallas boom in the 70 – 90’s…and I am thrilled to find family owned businesses here growing as their pride and care grows along with this fantastic city I now call home.

Austin is such a wonderful place, and it’s made better by creative businesses such as King Florist. The professionalism of the entire staff, courtesy and attention to detail is well-​known, as well as Benoit’s floral artistry.
I received several of their beautiful arrangements long before I became a customer. I was struck by the deft and daring designs, which are usually a signature of the European school of design. One Valentine creation lasted for over two weeks, and that — together with their beauty — made me choose King Florist for my daughter’s Spring wedding.
The staff guided me through the different packages would fit my pocketbook and my preferences. Affordable? Absolutely! Breath-​taking? Without a doubt. I ordered orchid bracelets for the mothers, corsages for the bridesmaids, boutonnieres for the groom and his men, and a lovely bouquet for my daughter, the bride. Rose kept me updated on my order and Lindsey made certain they arrived on time — indeed, they got to the wedding site before I did! (Check out my daughter’s bouquet in my photo section.)
As a graduate of a floral design program, I think it’s important to promote the brick-​and-​mortar stores is the area, rather than dash off to a supermarket or an impersonal online floral outlet to place an order. King Florist brings a breath of Europe to the great city of Austin, and believe me, there’s nothing weird about that…:)

DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. I called to have them do the flowers for my wedding in April. They assured me they were available for my wedding. They set me up with a consultation over a month out, so I asked to put a deposit down to secure them for my date. They told me it wasn’t necessary because they were wide open. When it came closer to my consultation date, about 2 weeks before, I found out I had to be out of the country for work, so I immediately called to reschedule my consultation, however the dates they offered me weren’t until late March. Wanting to wrap things up sooner rather than later, I decided I would just make it work and take the call from out of the country.
THE DAY BEFORE my consultation they called me and said they were too busy with Valentine’s day and could not do my consultation. Then they told me all their March consultations were filled up and they couldn’t take me anymore. I requested an after hours consultation (which usually costs $ 75) and they said they would no longer have time for my wedding. Panicked I called my fiancé because I was worried there wouldn’t be any quality florists left this close to my wedding. He called and they told him that I was too difficult to schedule a consultation with and they filled up. Difficult? I was ready to take the call internationally. He quickly came to my defense and told them this and demanded the owner. The girl on the call, Rose, refused to let him speak to the owner or anyone else. Just flat out said no. He quickly told them that he would be calling back everyday asking for the owner until he was able to speak to him/​her. 5 minutes later he got a call from the general manager who confessed that they had a large event come in that day and they were canceling all other events and weddings for that weekend to do this event.
So not only did they lie and try to say it was my fault for being difficult with scheduling but they were also canceling several other people’s events to take on this larger event, leaving multiple people in a difficult position. SAVE YOUR TIME. Go to BOUQUETS OF AUSTIN. They have BEAUTIFUL arrangements for great prices and are always so friendly to work with. Just read the wedding website reviews — they have almost 200 5 star reviews (nothing under 5 stars)! Way better than these rude people who don’t care about canceling on you last minute!

I ordered an arraignment for my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day. Their service far exceeded my expectations and my girl friend loved the flowers, arrangement and vase. They gave me a 10% upgrade for being a Veteran. I will be shopping with Kings Florist as long as I live in Austin.

I called this morning and spoke to Rose (I think this was her name because I remember thinking, aw and she’s a florist). She was very nice and friendly, which I think was a huge plus since I called literally the moment the shop opened, and I know that can be annoying.
It’s my boyfriend’s birthday and I wanted to have him sent something unique. So I ordered the Mint Cacti set, which are very cute and original and perfect since we’re from Arizona.
I appreciate that there are so many different delivery options and I love that they guarantee same day delivery. This was my first florist experience and I would say that it couldn’t have been better.

Amazing Flowers! My mom ordered and had an arrangement delivered for my birthday– it is beautiful and so well put together. The vase is solid and not cheap thin glass like many other florists use. The flowers are fresh – and so beautifully arranged… would definitely recommend ordering from King if your looking for a high quality florist!

My husband and I got our wedding flowers here (2 boutonnieres and 1 bouquet). We had an appointment prior to the date of the wedding to pick flowers and create an arrangement. I wish I remembered the woman’s name, but she was lovely. She pretty much hit it spot on on the first try and only had to change out one thing for the bouquet.
The day of flowers were beautiful and if I ever need flower arrangements again, I will definitely come back. Flowers are pricey, but to be honest it was less than I anticipated, so this was good! :)

My husband and I planned a courthouse marriage ceremony on short notice. The day before we were going to get married I was searching for a florist to buy some flowers to make a small bouquet myself. Without a prior call I walked into King Florist and they were more than accommodating. Once we saw their selection and the work they were doing, we decided to have them make my bouquet. They were so nice and without hesitation told me it would not be a problem to have it ready in a few hours. They created the most beautiful bouquet and read my mind — it was exactly what I wanted! The flowers were gorgeous and it was eye popping in all of our photos. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect bouquet!

King Florist has a great selection of flowers, succulents, & catci. (not basic) Super creative.
I ordered the cutest succulent arrangement for a friend today. They have photos of arrangements on website which made it easy to choose.

So impressed and grateful I found this place! I emailed about 10 different florists in Austin and this was the only* place that responded to me. not only that, but in a promptly manner. I inquired about baby’s breath bunches on a Thursday and I had a wedding that Saturday. King Florist was more than accommodating. I originally was just going to get 6 bunches of baby’s breath and be on my way but I was so blown away with their service I ended up buying my bouquet there from their awesome selection. it was the perfect experience.

It was parents’ 30^th anniversary, and I wanted to send them flowers. King Florist was the closest to them, and they had good reviews so I called them. When I called to order, the person I talked to was really great, and thanks to their wonderful customer service they found exactly what I wanted. They were delivered right on time, and my mom said the flowers were so fresh and lovely. Not to mention how great the express service is since I called kind of last minute! I will definitely be calling them again on moms birthday!

I can not say enough about King Florist. I have used them for around 20 years and have been very happy with the arrangments they have made every time. They are the best!

My dearest friend’s father passed away in Austin recently. Being from out of town I found King Florist online and liked their photos. I spent $ 400.00 sending a standing spray which they described as gorgeous. I almost fainted when I saw the horrible, cheap looking thing they sent. The flowers they used cost them between $ 17 – 20. It was so embarrassing that sending nothing would have been much better. Keep looking, this is not the florist you are searching for.

I received an anonymous floral arrangement at work from King Florist! I wasn’t part of the transaction or ordering process obviously so, I can’t comment on that end of this business.
The flowers I received are breathtaking an I was loving the greenery filler they used! So much better than babies breath or something generic like that! The vase is gorgeous and high quality filled in the bottom with river rocks! Nice touch!
The arrangement commanded attention and had the entire office buzzing so, guys pay attention, if you want to make your gal feel special, order flowers from here!
I still don’t know who sent them because when I called to inquire with them they said I’m sorry but, they requested us not to tell you and remain anonymous. As frustrating as that was to hear, it was nice to see that they kept their promise to whomever it was. Still trying to figure it out but, thanks King Florist for the gorgeous arrangement.

King Florist is amazing! I had the pleasure of working with Lynsey and her team on my recent wedding. She did an amazing job with the bouquets, very artistic and lush, while remaining conscious of my budget. I feel like she has a gift at turning my somewhat disjointed vision into something more stunning then I could have pictured.
For the rest of our flowers, we used the Austin Flower Market part of the business where we could order flowers in bulk. Once again, they were easy to work with and very helpful in choosing the right flowers for our homemade arrangements. Plus there was no judgement at all that we had decided to go the DIY route. We made arrangements for my sister’s wedding with flowers she ordered online, and we ended up having to throw away many because of quality. There was not a bad stem in the bunch that we ordered from King! Overall, I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding. It was truly a delight to work with them and the product was spectacular. Definitely my go-​to florist for the future!

This was by far the best experience I’ve had with a florist… The terrarium was awesome and delivered super fast. I was able to send something to a friend quickly when I couldn’t be there myself. Will for sure be making them my number 1 florist!

I want to say that after getting flowers from King Florist, and having some issues on the delivery to another city (something that was a good part out of their control), the owner of this establishment contacted me and made things right. In fact, he more than just came to the table — he went way above and beyond what was expected.
I stopped in to his shop today, and was greeted by his friendly staff. Benoit, the owner, took time to come over and speak to me, I will say it is refreshing to see business owners who are truly concerned about customer service… and Benoit is.
I will definitely be back !

My wife and I are currently living in different cities and I wanted to have flowers delivered to her work. Obviously it’s always difficult when you’re buying flowers over the phone or online. The King Florist site is very well done and user friendly. It gave me a good idea of what I wanted but I still felt compelled to call. Audrea was a tremendous help. Told her what I wanted and that it needed to be ‘desk friendly’. She got everything in order and even got me set for an early morning delivery. My wife loved the arrangement and I received her text and the delivery confirmation email at the same time. They may be higher priced than other florists in the area but you get what you pay for and I’d gladly pay more for quality and piece of mind. I will definitely be a returning customer.

I recently ordered flowers for my sister-​in-​law and everyone I dealt with was super nice and helpful. They are perhaps a bit more expensive than some of the other area flower shops but you really do get what you pay for in this instance. My sister-​in-​law really loved the arrangement and the customer service was truly excellent.

Was a great help with placing an order to someone in austin when I am in another state. Very pleasant experience and great employees. Will defiantly use again

I ordered flowers for my daughter from here and what a beautiful and unusual arrangement they put together! Just stunning! She simply loved them — I shall be using them again, that’s for sure! I highly recommend them.

Believe it or not, I first learned of King’s, via Atlanta GA. My son is a great researcher and he was trying to find the best florist. He asked around and did his research and King’s was the «insider» choice. I can see why! I’ve never seen such gorgeous, creative, unusual, artistic designs. Modern, unique, not same old, same old. And this was not a one-​hit show. This past week, I underwent surgery. People were asking my family for a good florist. My son again spread the word, and I was Not ever disappointed. When I die, I sure hope they get the flowers from King’s!!!

I saw a note at work that King had done a nice funeral arrangement so I decided to get a small arrangement for my husband’s day-​before birthday and send it to him on Friday at work.
I was very disappointed when he brought it home. There was a branch with little twigs and one of the leaves had obviously been chewed on by a bug.

Just wanted to say they are great. We are in town for a dog show and staying in our Motorhome. It was my wife’s birthday and I called to get a flower arrangement and see if they would deliver. Told them not the «usual» stuff though. They said they had some fall flowers in and would make something up. They arrived the next day, delivered to the front door. Very nice, with flowers neither of us have seen before. It was a hit.

I ordered flowers via their website and found it perfect, easy to use great grouping of choices. Places my order at 10a and they were delivered by 3p. Wife very pleased with the quality and presentation. Very much appreciated!

Pricey but you certainly get what you pay for. Their arrangements are just lovely and whomever receives them feels like a million dollars. I use them for very special occasions and they have never let me down. They truly make art more than just flower arrangements.

10 stars! King was our hero when we realized at 1pm, while on vacation, that we’d forgotten an important birthday back home. I had seen King on Koenig near my house, so I looked them up and called them. The woman I spoke to was super friendly, so helpful, and completely unruffled by my request for a same-​day delivery less than 2 hours before their closing time (and 15 minutes before their delivery truck was scheduled to leave). She was also extremely nice about accommodating our budget and making suggestions for options, even in such a tight timeframe.
Sure enough, an hour later we got an ecstatic call from the recipient and photos of a beautiful, modern, creative bouquet. The arrangement was around $ 75, and while it was modestly sized (not small, not big), it was a stunner, and it stayed fresh for over a week. I am definitely in the quality-​over-​quantity camp when it comes to cut flower arrangements, and King delivered on every quality front I can imagine.
I will definitely call them again!

This place is great! I bought my girlfriend a few arrangements from this florist and they are amazing. They listened to exactly what I needed and the colors I was looking for. The people in here take the time to listen and as a result they will not disappoint. I have never had them deliver flowers so I cannot comment on the delivery side of things but in the store is amazing. Flowers from here will put a smile on that special someone’s face and get you in good graces!
