Ken’s — I’m so sorry it took me two years of living behind you to finally try you. I’ll never scorn you again. I’m still amazed at how much food you can get for next to nothing here. Two chicken enchiladas, rice and beans for $ 6? Two beautiful fried fish tacos with piña salsa and avocado + rice and beans for $ 5? A GIGANTIC half sub that’s definitely nearly a foot long for $ 5? Good lord. Never change, Ken’s. I had a crispy beef, carne guisada, and barbacoa taco, all of which were delicious. I can’t imagine eating the carne guisada with anything but a fork as it was VERY sloppy, but the meat was tender and well seasoned. The crispy beef taco was the surprising standout, though. Pretty sure they fried up that corn tortilla right when I ordered it because it was still hot and kinda flaky by the time I started in on it. Sweet tea is almost comically sweet and syrupy. So it’s perfect, really. BTW they take cards now, so don’t worry about hitting an ATM before you come in. And come in before noon because the industrial parks on Cameron seem to empty out and into the line here by then.

I love this place. Best breakfast tacos around, only get one unless you are really hungry, they are big. Lunch menu has a great selection as well, try the philly sandwich with chicken or beef, they are both great. Parking is a little tight but worth the wait.

Potato, bacon, egg, and cheese!!! These tacos are huge, their red salsa has been the most consistent of any place I have ever been too. Parking can be crazy, but totally worth it. Also get a Chorizo, egg, bean, and bacon. All you need is those to two tacos and you have breakfast and lunch, cause if you eat them both prepare for a good nap. Weird but just never had any of their lunch, maybe next time.

Huge, big ol’ breakfast tacos. Seriously — these tacos have about 3 eggs in them. HUGE. Guacamole with them is a must. They also have a great lunch menu with really tasty burgers(their buns are a really nice bread) along with tons of sandwiches with Boar’s Head meats. Everything’s cheap, filling, and tasty!

The tip vs review debate: Arguably the best value in Austin breakfast tacos. $ 2.37 gets you a lot of food here. Go with the green sauce. No BS efficiency, call in your order, but their compact parking lot can be a genuine clusterfuck — are you dudes seriously pulling in here with those six-wheel big-dick trucks? I use the aux parking lot across Dessau/Cameron & make a dash for it.

I have been going to Ken’s since they opened! EVERYTHING is good here! Red sauce has always been amazing but then they added the green sauce. I can’t get enough of that stuff! My favorite breakfast taco is: ground beef, bacon, potato & cheese or ground beef, bacon, egg & cheese. The Philly Cheesesteak is the bomb! The fact that there is very low turnover is nice too… same faces all the time!

Just enjoyed their Wednesday Philly Cheesesteak lunch special and I’m hooked. Huge portions of food, friendly staff and quick service. I went around 1:30p and had no issues with parking or a crowd. My only suggestion is the addition of more veggies for their subs(no banana peppers :() Can’t wait to try their tacos next!

A coworker just turned me on to this place. I have been getting my nails done across the street at C nails for a few years. Let me just say… I got the Chicken Philly and I LOVEDIT. No Mayo added mushrooms and jalepenos. Just delicious. Best Philly I have ever had. I will be back! Just wish their hours were a bit later.

I first came to Ken’s with Coworkers for lunch, it was a little iffy to me since we had to park across the road, since the parking lot in front gets full fast. However, the burgers are delicious, and it’s such a great price as well. My favorite thing is the Philly on Wednesday as the special. It’s fantastic, you get so much food for the price. It does get really crowded though during lunch so plan accordingly. The food comes out fast though, but the lunch special is great, it’s $ 5.95 for a giant Philly with chips and a drink. The staff is very friendly as well, I love going here for lunch.

Too much egg. Even when you request easy egg. Maybe because I just hate Eggs. I’m starting to see this review is invalid lol Either way, quick service and cheap pricing. Average experience.

(Breakfast review) I’ve been coming to Kens for years, their tacos haven’t changed, big and filling. 1 taco = satisfied. I did notice they have a green salsa now which is spicier then the red so I like it better. Can’t beat the price for the huge tacos you get! Parking is the only annoying part, you never find parking, they do have a parking lot across the street, but you have to do a turn around.

I’m always the happiest person in the world when I have time on Saturdays to drive across town and have a breakfast taco from Kens. There breakfast tacos are a nice size! I always order two because I’m greedy but I can only finish one. The tacos are two dollars and some change. Cheaper than a lot of places in Austin and their tacos are much bigger. They are really fast and you are in and out. Only negative is that their parking lot is rather small and tight, but because they are quick with your order people are usually in and out. Love this place!

Breakfast taco legitness. These bad boys are huge! Know any early morning hangry types? Throw this taco at them and see if their attitude won’t instantly change into a positive Patty. As for their green sauce, ooooooooh giiirrrrrllll! Pour it up. I love a good spicy green sauce. Side notes– small parking lot. One way in and out. You can order food ahead or dine in. Food is made on the spot, counter service, take your ticket and listen for your number. Ambiance: non fancy, ultra casual.

This place has been around since the ‘80s. My Dad used to work near here back in the day and he used to come for tacos. Fast forward 20 plus years and he’s working near this place again. On Fridays him and his co-workers go out for lunch and this is on their regular rotation. Over the weekend he wanted to take my hubby and I out to this place. My Dad doesn’t really get excited about a lot of things but my goodness! He couldn’t stop talking about it and was eager to take us. My dad ordered for all of. He got the philly cheesesteak sandwich special(sandwich, drink and chips) for $ 5.50. What a deal! Oh my heavens if you’re hungry this is your place. The sandwich was as big as my fore arm. The bread was soft but the edges were crispy, crunchy and buttery. There was so much meat, onions, mushrooms and cheesy goodness. You’ll need a fork and a knife to help you along the way. I had to cut mine in half make it more manageable and then a for afterwards to eat up all the pieces that fell off. I saw some tacos walk by and they were HUGE! This place is a small hole in the wall. The parking is small but there’s extra parking across the street. Sometimes the good eats are a slightly shady part of town and just a dive. I’m not above hole in the wall places. Sometimes these are the best places to get food.

Kens has tasty overstuffed tacos for cheap! Ive only tried their tacos. I’ve had the beef fajita, carne guisada, beef bean cheese, barbacoa. The list goes on and on! They’re all delicious and so worth the dumb parking and long lines!

What’s left to say that hasn’t already been said? Not much, if anything. If you’re looking for a good, cheap breakfast taco fixing, this is the spot. You can get a ginormous breakfast taco for a 2 – 3 bucks and it’s so filling you probably wouldn’t need a 2nd. I think they put about 4 eggs worth in each taco so it’s stuffed to the brim and then some. My go to is the egg, sausage and tomato. I used to get green peppers but they vetoed that from breakfast tacos a couple years back. I had never been into hot sauce before, but this place’s is great, so don’t forget to put that on your taco. They’ll always give you a serving of it per taco. When in doubt, breakfast tacos at Ken’s. Your coworkers will love you and your wallet will thank you.

Went there with some co workers and i had the philly steak and it was great. The portions were huge. One person had enchaladas and they plate was so big. The other person had two tocos and they were full to the gills. I for sure will be going back there for food. It was really tasty and i think it is a gem that most dont know about. I found it on Unilocal. The one bad thing is the parking is very limited.

I tried them for lunch today. Here’s the lowdown. 1) Cash only. 2) Quick. Real quick. 3) Parking bites. They do have a lot across Dessau/Cameron. Cross the street at your own risk. 4) The portions are beyond generous. 5) The red salsa they gave me in a squeeze bottle — trust me, it’s hot. 6) One of the more diverse menus around — subs, burgers, cheesesteaks, Tex-Mex.

So, I was in this part of town the other morning and starving for some breakfast. My meeting finished early. I looked at Unilocal for a nearby spot, that looked like a Hidden Treasure. I came across Ken’s. When I first came in about 8:30 am, they were not packed. There were about 8 to 10 happy looking patrons. By happy, I mean that content smirk, like they got their money’s worth. There was a diverse clientele, but everyone was happy and talkative. I had a funny older gentleman say to me, as they brought my bacon, eggs, potatos, beans, with cheese, and tortillas; «they don’t mess around huh». I smiled back, then replied, «apparently not». I felt like the freshman in high school, who just got accepted into the cool kids club. This plate was huge, and I knew I had a challenge in front of me. Too many times today, you pay a ton and you walk away still feeling like you could have grubbed a little more. Not at Ken’s, as I sat there grubbing down, the ‘Me Against Food Plate’ the place starting filling up. Eventually, there was not a seat or parking space in the place. I will happily go back for breakfast, but I am eager to check out their sandwiches. They are apparently made with Boar’s Head meats and cheese. If those sandwiches are the bomb, I might just have to come back and drop that last star. If you are hungry and want to ensure that you that you won’t be any more give Ken’s Subs Tacos & More a holla.
