Just Mowing

Tried to set-​up a new bi-​weekly service. Terrible Customer Service from Angela. I asked them to knock on the door when they arrived so I could get the dogs in and unlock the gate. She got an attitude and said they won’t knock on the door, they will just start mowing. I said that they can’t get into the back yard and she said then they will just mow the front and leave and charge me for the whole yard service. She then said it would be loud and I would hear them, REALLY? HOW DARE ME FOR ASKING!!! She was very RUDE so I decided to hire someone else. If this is the front person, I cant imagine how the rest of the company is run, NOT WELL, I suppose. Can you imagine if you had a problem with the service?

I have used these guys for over a year… Very very satisfied with their service. On the day they are scheduled, do a good job, fast and leave quickly. They always close gates behind them. I am very glad I responded to the flyer left in my door over a year ago

i know the name is indicative that this company’s offerings are pretty basic, but we had them perform a bi-​weekly lawn service at our rental property for the last two or three years, and the service deteriorated to atrocious by the end.
to be fair, when we initially hired them on, everything was fine. they showed up every other thursday (seasonally), when we agreed, the yard was mowed, edged, and blown. trimmings were picked up for the most part. nothing above and beyond, but definitely a good deal for what we were paying for.
flash forward to recently. no edging has happened in god knows how long. i went to show the property to potential new tenants on a thursday afternoon (mowing day!) and i could see that not only was there no edging, but they didn’t even mow near the edge of the lawn. wtf? it looked worse than the job i did mowing my parents’ lawn when i was 7 for $ 6.
furthermore, the tenants indicated they were at our property for 8 – 10 minutes to do the front and back yards. also, we don’t go mess in our tenants’ business, so the yard has gotten extremely overgrown. how great would it have been if our yard service had given us a call to say «hey you have crazy brambles everywhere, want us to take care of that and you can give us more money?». hmpf.

When the crew showed up to my house I was outside cutting bushes. One of the guys helped me put the cut brush into the bags and then proceeded to blow out my garage of all the dead leaves accumulated over the months! Great crew! Gracias!

Do NOt use this company, they broke my trapaline and and I watched them take off a part from my lawn mower and try to put it on their’s. I asked them what they were doing and he acted like he could not understand me. They mowed over some of my plants. Please do not use them. They spend 10 of less mowing and do a very very bad job!!! My kid watched them put their face to my window and try to look in!!!

I decided that I had done yard work for SOOOOOOOO many years and had had enough of it. My time was way worth paying someone else to do it. I looked on Unilocal to find someone to mow my yard for a reasonable price. I found Just Mowing and after reading the reviews (mostly very good) I decide to give them a try. I am very happy to say that they have been AWESOME!!! … and you cannot beat the price! I would totally recommend them to others! (in fact, I already have!). Thanks Just Mowing!!! :) …
BTW, just in case you’re wondering… no, I do NOT work for or have been paid by Just Mowing for my «glowingly good» review of them. I work in the customer service business and I know good quality customer service and performance when I see it. In my opinion, doing business with them has been a VERY enjoyable experience and they do an excellent job. They are great!!!

Updating my review because the service worsened.
I was already annoyed that my yard went from «Yard of the Month» to tacky crappy looking lawn because the workers just couldn’t get the concept of edging the tree rings. But the final kickers were the owner’s/admin’s reply to my Unilocal review. Yup — that annoyed me because I had called them numerous times to resolve my issue (and really — should you have to call more than once to resolve an issue with a good business?). It wasn’t resolved, yet they tried to make themselves look all helpful and such online, but still never fixed the issue. And the final straw was their customer service. I needed a mow (one-​time) before my regular service started up again and since their regular season had already started (even though my lawn doesn’t need regular mowing until April) they refused to do this. I understand rules. But if you already have an unhappy customer, wouldn’t one think that they would work with their «rules»? Nope. I asked for a manager and boy was she rude. I didn’t cancel right then because frankly I was flabbergasted by her rudeness. But I have found another mowing service that has actually gotten the concept of tree rings (with no additional instruction from me) on the first service. Wow! I gave «Just Mowing» a season of my business… they blew it. I would give them one star, but if all you need is mowing (no edging or tree rings) this company may work for you. It didn’t for me.

I have been searching for a no nonsense mowing company that will show up when they say they will show and professionaly cut my grass and keep it looking good.
Finally I found them! It’s pain free… professional cut, excellent price, dependable…
Now I have my weekends back.

We received a flyer in our mailbox from Just Mowing and decided to give them a try. We went through some negotiations over the size of our yard and settled on a price and date. We live in a gated community and explained to procedure for access to the Just Mowing agent. Since we had received a flyer in our mailbox we stupidly assumed that they would be able to follow the protocol.
Three attempts to «access» our neighborhood failed, we can only assume their crew went to the wrong location as our gate guards keep a log of everyone who is refused entry and there was no record of their attempt to access.
Management team was surly and uninterested in trying to remedy the problem so we moved on, I can’t review their actual lawn service, however their customer service quite simply sucks.

We started using Just Mowing at our new house and they are fantastic! The guys are reliable, sign-​up was easy, and pricing is affordable (and they automatically bill me, which I love — one less thing to think about). Also, because this is important to me, a real person has answered the phone every time I have called, and they always seem happy to help.
I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for a reliable mowing service!

I would not recommend this lawn service to anyone!
Pros: Convenient online sign up. That’s it.
CONS:
— They cut our lawn way too short and killed our grass. When we hired a lawn expert to come, they said it was cut below the recommended level when it’s 95+ degrees outside.
— They scheduled to have our lawn cut on Mondays. They say that you have to give 24 hours notice when you want to cancel lawn service. But their office is closed on weekends so you can’t call or leave a voicemail to cancel a service on Mondays (we did not choose this day — they assigned it to us). We were also only calling to cancel because they had killed our grass 2 weeks prior and our grass hadn’t been cut at all.
Now we are needing to spend $ 500+ to get our lawn back in shape. Trust me, although it’s convenient to sign up for service, it’s not worth it in the end when they kill your lawn and can care less about it.

I’m so glad we heard about Just Mowing from a friend. Like their name implies, they’re not a company that tries to up-​sell you on all kinds of landscape services. Instead, they just mow your lawn (and edge & blow leaves) on a regular basis.
The few times I’ve called their office, their staff was friendly. I’ve never interacted with the crew who comes to mow, but I’m happy with their work. I especially like how they blow the leaves off our patios.
The biggest negative for me about Just Mowing is that they charge based on your lot size. We live in a forested area, with about ½ of our yard being entirely trees (no grass) but we aren’t given any discount for not having to mow there. I also wish they had a way to put their service on-​hold during the hot summer months, since we don’t really need the grass to be mowed every two weeks right about now.
Still, my husband & I are happy to pay Just Moving to take care of this chore for us. With allergies, busy schedules, and hot weather — it’s worth it to hire a crew to mow the lawn.

Direct mail pieces are not obsolete!
I received a flyer in the mail from Just Mowing, and the timing and pricing couldn’t be more perfect. I had been seeking a lawn care service company for my yard, and just couldn’t find the right fit (and did I mention price?).
Sign up was easy and convenient… go to the Website, review prices that best fit your circumstance, and enter your credit card. An email confirmation is immediately sent, and a follow up call within 24 hours. Customer service is friendly and patient! I signed up last Thursday, and had my first mow today – no hassle and I didn’t need to be onsite! They also recommended a complimentary combination lock on my gate for easy in and out – saving me the headache of having to remember to remove and/​or unlock the gate.
With the bad drought, I signed up for the bi-​weekly service which includes mow, edge and blow. The company deducts payment after every service, and there’s no contract. To cancel, I just need to give notice 24 hours before my next mow date. My yard looks perfect, and couldn’t be more pleased. I’ve never used a full-​service company before (only neighborhood folks) and feel content with where my money is going.
I highly recommend this service. Side bar: After sharing with my mom about the new service, turns out she had used them in the past and just raved about them. She was more tickled than I was – I’m guessing because she knows how busy I am for one – and for two, her great experience. Another validation that I made the right choice.

I found Just Mowing when I bought my house about 4 years ago — and Just Mowing was one of first services that I found and came to my area.
I picked Monday’s as my mow day … you do pay a little extra for them to come out on Friday or Saturday, but they will. I LOVED coming home from work and the yard was just done. These guys are QUICK! I do have a small yard, but these guys could seriously get everything done in like 9 minutes — and I’m serious, I timed them once when I was working from home.
Over the time that I used them, I found minimal issues with missing spots in the yard or mowing crooked (like a weird pattern in my yard or mowing the neighbors yard weird). My biggest thing was that they sometimes leave the back gate open and my poodle would get out when I let her in the yard later in the day to use the potty. but I got her back both times and put a potter at the base of the gate and they would place it back and that solved it. It happened again the next season and at that point I went from one dog to three. and they all got out. and some other dogs came in (guess my yard is the place to be) — it was a hassle to get them all back in – so after that, we just checked to make sure that every Monday after they mowed, that that gate was secure before letting the dogs in the yard. If this is a concern for you as well, you might use their padlock service where they offer a padlock they will put on your gate and their crew knows the combo or has a key to it… I had ready about that when I first signed up but didn’t use it because I didn’t want to have one more key or one more combination to keep track of.
And speaking of the sign up service. that was super easy. I actually signed up online and a friendly woman called me back with the rest of the details… sounds like from some of the other reviews that is now completely automated. I picked the bi-​weekly service and it worked great for my needs and yard. It was easy to suspend my service the year when I lost all my grass due to the drought — and easy to resume. They were great about sending communications on the last mow days and also again when they were going to pick up – even included a great little calendar and magnet card.

I’ve used several lawn services and these guys are the best. They bill just like they say they are going to and they show up when they are supposed to. They send a letter at the end of the year telling you when they’ll stop for the year and when they’ll begin again next year. Perfect.
I’ve never had a problem! Ever in 2 years.
I also had them weed, mulch and trim my bushes including 5 out of control roses. I had to buy the mulch, which was just fine (cheaper that way too) and left it in the back yard. They did a tremendous job.

I would have recommended this company if it weren’t for the last two services. The first one, they broke the door to my fence and didn’t tell me. I was able to get the screws back in so it was functional. Yesterday, they decided to leave and not close the gate. This wouldn’t have been a big deal if I didn’t have backyard chickens and a 16 month old baby. Neighbors came by to let me know that the chickens were in the street– a humorous situation, no doubt, but myself and three of the neighbors were able to round them up after 45 minutes.
All I could think of was how relieved I was that it was just the chickens that got out, and not the baby!!!

Pros: reliable, cheap, easy, quick, good customer service, cleanup services available
Cons: some broken rain gutters
They haven’t broken any sprinkler heads and they haven’t cut the grass too short. Like other reviewers have said — they are QUICK!

Last night, after a full day of work and social obligations, I came home at 11:15 to a newly mowed lawn. AMAZING.
They didn’t tell me what day they were coming, so it was like a happy little surprise. I’d had the foresight to move the hose in the front yard, but they moved things around the backyard themselves. I know some folks have complained about them not moving stuff, but I’ve had no problem so far.
I was half expecting to get a call before they actually mowed… The website says they’ll call before they mow for overgrown lawns because they charge more. But they didn’t call.
Because I’m overly busy, and because I’m overly tech-​inclined, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that all I had to do was fill out a web form and that in less than a week, with no further interaction required, someone mowed my lawn.
(At the same time, I sort of wonder if you could send them to neighbors with bad yards… or to do other random acts of landscaping. They never verified that we had the rights to the house. Unless they called our landlord without our knowing. Hm…)
Anyway, AWESOME.

Guess what? I’m not only too lazy to clean my house, but also too lazy to mow my own lawn.
The last thing I want to do on my weekends is go outside in the hot ass 100+ degree weather and mow my lawn while bees, wasps, and ants galore attack me. No I’ m not a princess who refuses to mow the lawn. I’ve done it before, but why bother when someone else will do it for you for cheap?
Online set up, pricing, and scheduling is easy. You can cancel at any time. All they do is mow, which is all I need. If you are wanting landscaping or extra work, this is not the place to look!

Cheap, fast and good. Really.
The Just Mowing guys are super, super fast. It’s amazing how quickly they get our lawn done. We have a big yard and they are seriously done in about 10 minutes. They have never missed or damaged anything. They blow the sidewalks, deck and driveway and even get the leaves out from under my car!
The only thing I wish they could improve on would to be more consistent on their timing. We are scheduled for Fridays, but they show up anytime from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and we never know when it will be. Oh, and they are cheap. I can’t believe they haven’t raised their prices since gas is so expensive.
True to their name, they just do mowing, so if you need any landscaping, you’ll have to find someone else.
