John was great! I personally thought his act was both entertaining and funny for kids and parents! Well worth every dollar imo. Great improv skills too for any type of crowd.

John Maverick is an amazing magician whose stage presence and well-​rehearsed magic tricks held the attention of 30 six-​year olds for the duration of his show at my daughter’s birthday party. He went above and beyond what would be expected when he came by to do a private magic show for my daughter at Dell Children’s Hospital when she broke her arm at the beginning of the party and had to miss his regular show. I could not recommend him more highly.

John «MadMan» Maverick is where it’s at. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform at the Sherwood Forest Faire and even a backyard carnival. With his mantra «SET IT ON FIRE», fire and other bits of sorcery come into play, leaving you eagerly awaiting his next act. He’s professonal, humorous, and you may even leave his shows with both eyebrows still attached to your face. Learning bonus trivia about the area is also a possibility. Good with all ages – highly recommended.

John Maverick = silly, goofy, awesome magician!
We hired Mr Maverick for our daughter’s 4th magical fairy birthday and let me tell you… his magic tricks were great! The kids ate it up… lots of comedy in his act and the parents enjoyed it just as much as the kiddos. But his best trick by far was the fact that he kept 20 four year olds engaged, seated on a blanket, laughing non-​stop and totally amazed for 30 whole minutes! David Copperfield couldn’t do that. This guy is GREAT! Highly recommend.

We saw John perform at a festival for my local school. The kids were entranced, amused and entertained. There was a lot of comedy in his act, which went down well, along with some great magic. My son was thrilled to be picked as John’s assistant and is still talking about the tricks he participated in!

I’ve caught three of Maverick’s magic shows over the last year and have been uniformly impressed. Once at a party held by our church, and twice at Sherwood Forest Faire.
He’s quick witted without being condescending or mean, even when being heckled unkindly. All three of my kids (ages 11, 13, and 15) enjoyed his show at our church, and he made a point of ensuring the kids were as engaged as the adults. At the Faire he drew quite the diverse crowd at both shows I went to. At one he was repeatedly propositioned by an older woman clearly into her cups; he handled the situation with wit and grace.
In short, he’s clearly a professional performer and very good at what he does.

John Maverick gave a terrific birthday party show to a group of 5 – 8 year olds. He was funny and entertaining and rolled with the comments from his precocious audience. Everyone’s attention was held and the parents had a great time, too. 30 min is just enough time for this age group and John’s mix of humor and magic is just right.

I have seen a few of Mavericks shows and he does a wonderful children’s show and a really good adult show. Just like a magician he will do tricks when you catch him out and about and is always one to impress the people around him. I have seen better but I do not get to Vegas very often.
