Jessica Roop Hair & Make-up

She is AMAZING! I asked Jessica to do my make-​up for our Engagement Photos. I also called her the day of the shoot — so last minute! But she got me in, did my make-​up, as well as tease my hair for me!, no problem. Not only is she incredibly talented at what she does — but she is SO easy to be around and talk to. I have had my make-​up done before for weddings and such, but no one has compared to Jessica. She made me feel beautiful, and I felt so confident taking the pictures later that day. If you want to have your make-​up done by anyone in Austin, Texas — you MUST have Jessica Roop as your make-​up artist! :-)

After searching for a stylist that was not outrageously priced, yet was highly reviewed, I hired Jessica. Her prices were slightly less than some stylists I contacted.
During the trial she did two hair styles, neither was 100% what I wanted, but she planned to do things from each of the styles. She did my airbrush make-​up, with false lashes, during the trial as well. After doing a trial with Jessica, I had concerns that my hair would not be exactly like I would want it, which was a true vintage style with 2 – 3 large pin curls and a high/​big swooped bang (think vintage hollywood), but after spending $ 205 on the trial ($ 100 hair, $ 105 make-​up), I hesitated to book another stylist.
The day of my wedding Jessica arrived on time and did hair and make-​up for my mom, sister, younger cousin and myself. Everyone’s hair and make-​up turned out well and Jessica did do touch-​ups prior to leaving. My hairstyle turned out very well and I had many compliments on the vintage look. Jessica nailed it!
She did however, leave before helping us place my veil into my style. My mom and sister handled it, but we were disappointed she left without helping; she did practice with it during the trial.
We have received our wedding photos and video and I was disappointed to see that in photos taken 1 hour after my hair style was completed, the curl/​bobbypin was falling out and sticking off my head at a 90 degree angle (we were not running, in the wind, etc.). This may be minor, but when I paid over $ 200 for a stylist, I’d expect my hair to hold for that time. Thankfully my mom and sister were able to fix it when I arrived to the ceremony site. Several other photos post-​ceremony also have hair in the back falling out of the pins, which was very disappointing.
The other’s hair and make-​up held fairly well throughout, but did have a few pins fall out as well.
Overall I was happy the day of (which is what mattered), but disappointed after seeing the photos (which is what we have forever).

Jessica’s girls Ashley and Shannon did my hair and makeup for my wedding day, as well as my bridesmaids’ and did a fabulous job! Ashley arrived early and was set up and ready to go right away. She did a beautiful job on my bridesmaids’ hair and I absolutely loved what she did for me! I got so many compliments on my hair! Shannon also did a beautiful job with my makeup and another bridesmaid’s. She only does the airbrush makeup, but that was just what I needed. Both of them did their work on-​site which worked out perfectly. Jessica was so great to work and coordinate with as well, and is very organized and on top of things. I would definitely recommend for your wedding day!

Jessica did my hair and makeup, as well as my mom/​and 3 bridesmaids. She was perfect from consultation to getting my hair and make up trial and on actual wedding day! and that is how it should be! She was very organized, very responsive to all my emails and very flexible with her schedule! She is very knowledgeable of hair and make up as well as make up products. My bridal party all looked great! I received a lot of compliments with my hair and make up! It was so much fun hanging out with her and her helper, they were both very outgoing and just fun to be around with. I highly recommend her!

Jessica did the hair and make-​up for my wedding and she did a wonderful job! She was able to come out to the wedding venue with a helper. This helped to start my day off stress free. All of my bridesmaids look wonderful and I received many great compliments. I was really lucky to find her. She was very helpful and organized and handled the whole process professionally. I would highly recommend her for your special day!!!

After a bad haircut, I vowed never to cut my hair. Then of course the growing out process makes you look ugly, so I was fortunate enough to receive Jess’ Unilocal Deal! I was so nervous because of my previous cut, but I kept telling myself «It’ll grow back!»
Jess super friendly and very chill. She didn’t force conversations to suck up like other stylists I’ve been to, and she really takes the time to hear what you want. That is something I really appreciate because she truly heard what I wanted and executed it to PERFECTION! Oh, another note she doesn’t force products, too.
She also gave me some advice about blow-​drying bangs and when would be a good time to come back.
I would recommend changing stylists and going to see her! I can’t wait til my hair grows long so I can get it cut by her again!
Her typical price for cuts are $ 45-​$ 50, and although that does not suit well with my college bank account, it’s worth going to someone who is experienced and cares for her clientele.

Jess is absolutely amazing! I’ve never left disappointed with my haircut. The bonus is that after every cut she teaches me a new trick to better style my hair on a regular basis. You won’t regret making Jess your permanent secret weapon to looking great!
