CLOSED — Went by this place the other day and it looks like it has gone out of business. All the tables, chairs and register are gone.

I used to work next door, so I feel like a seasoned Jalapeño Joes fan! Number one thing on the menu is the migas taco. This was the one thing I had to tell myself every day at work that I didn’t «need» it, I «wanted» it, and I shouldn’t get it every day. I caved most days. It’s cheap and yummy, what more can you ask for? Everything else I’ve had has been good. Burgers are good, but greasy. That’s a personal preference, but I liked em! Nachos were quite the heap as well. It is casual counter service with Wi-Fi and several TVs. This isn’t for a date, this is casual all the way. You may just want to space out and watch some sports like I usually did on my lunch breaks.

Everything here is delicious given how inexpensive it is. It may not be the fanciest and most refined tex-mex you’ll ever eat, but the prices are SO cheap and everything tastes very home-made. They’re a small staff and a small establishment, and so the food really is home-made goodness! I live nearby and it’s great for a quick, cheap, and yummy meal every now and then. Their breakfast tacos are delicious and I am a huge fan of their chicken flautas. Their queso is also dirt cheap but not at all gross artificial cheese! I love this place although I only go once every couple of weeks(to spare my waistline) but it has consistently been VERY satisfying! I really hope this place survives!

I stopped by here for Breakfast before my Doctor’s appointment. Staff is very friendly, outgoing and attentive in taking the order. They are closed on Sundays. They have several TV’s throughout the place and from the signs around the place it appears they have some pretty good drink specials. Portions are good size — very tasty and the right amount of seasoning.

This is my favorite migas taco(on corn) in town, second only to Curra’s Grill’s migas plate, which frankly is more of a treat because it’s a little bit of a drive and is also sit-down/more expensive. I’m at Jalepeno Joe’s most Saturday mornings because I need my weekly migas taco, it’s close, and it’s cheap. I think what I like so much about their migas is how crispy the tortilla strips are. I also really like their red salsa. I order 5 tacos(not all for me!) and it’s $ 8 and change – a very affordable option when other taco places in town run us almost $ 20, and honestly I’m really tired of spending that much on breakfast tacos, even if they are really good. My only complaint is they’re not very good at ringing up your order correctly. Half the time(honestly, fully half of my visits), they miss a taco or mess up the tortilla choice. I’ve got my taco order down to a science and it baffles me how a taco place can have trouble ringing up my order – it’s not complicated. Small complaint though, since I go back every time. Ok one more little complaint – they’re closed Sundays. But there’s always a silver lining – just one more reason to not miss my Saturday morning tacos.

The only thing I get here is the Migas Tacos, so I can not comment on any of the other lunch food or other breakfast. It truly is a great breakfast taco at a reasonable price. I usually get them to go as well, quick service,

The wife was having outpatient surgery over at St. David’s. I rolled over to grab a late breakfast. It was almost 11pm when I walked in to order. I was looking at the lunch menu when the older female told me they were still serving breakfast? Breakfast? Gee, Mexican food is just cheese, beans, rice and tortillas. I would not think you needed much prep for lunch. I told them that lunch was less than 30 mins away and the lady replied that the rice was not ready. Not ready? You have the lunch crowd coming in and you are not ready? I decided on the migas plate. I thought they could have used a little more eggs in the migas and the eggs could have been fluffier. They also used american cheese. I can not stand when Mexican restaurants go cheap and use American cheese rather than cheddar. The potatoes were good. The tortillas were not homemade. That also ruins it for me. If you have a mexican restaurant, make the extra effort and give me homemade tortillas instead of the ones you buy from Sysco. They did offer fresh squeezed orange juice. If you are going to do that, take the extra effort and make some tortillas. I was distracted by some older gentleman show as walking around who never spoke. I assume he was the owner. I never saw him do anything but glare at customers as they were being seated. In a pinch, this place would do. I just wish the food quality was a little better.

Excellent food and very friendly staff! Breakfast tacos are good and lunch specials are delicious. They even make AWESOME burgers with homemade fries for those in the surrounding area that don’t necessarily want Mexican food. Try the fresh squeeze OJ; It’s amazing!

Looks like this place has improved overtime. I am ONLY vouching for the breakfast tacos — -Migas tacos are delicious! I can’t believe this place doesn’t have more stars. You have a buck fifty? You can get a taco! Perfect little weekday breakfast! May need 3 bucks for a hungover breakfast of 2 tacos. People complain all the time about overpriced crap, well this is not overpriced nor is it crap, it’s really yummy. And yes the staff is really great! I have been there on a few occasions and I don’t know why there are so many haters out there…

I have eaten here several times. The current grilled Talapia special is excellent. Cooked just right and more than plenty to eat for lunch. I also love their Migas tacos. Nice mix of spices and eggs. Great food for the price. GOTHERE and try it.

Cheap and BAD… I also got jipped 2 cents on my tacos… not cool. They at least should have given me a warning that they didn’t have enough change! Horrendous breakfast tacos. I don’t like egg or bacon, which are staples, but please read on before you condemn me for not ordering eggs or bacon in my Austin breakfast favorite. These are certainly no way to have your most important meal of the day, I assure you. The tortillas tasted a touch old… certainly not fresh, by any means. I went with a yellow corn and a white corn. Also, they didn’t provide the«double tortilla», as should be standard at taco joints… especially ones called Jalapeño Joes. Needless to say, with my sort of wetter ingredients, my parcels fell right apart. They say no refried beans or microwaves… BUT both of these are deal-breakers. I would have much preferred microwaved potatoes over my stale, bland«oven-roasted(?)» tubers. Also, I counted 5 big hunks in my taco. Not small, and not enough… just bad. They charge add ons for ranchero and pico de gallo. The pico with my potato added no flavor, unfortunately. Then, I got a black bean and ranchero sauce. Honestly, the ranchero sauce was reminiscent of the pico, just a bit more pureed. Yikes. Oh, and the beans were OK. Oh, no, Joe. No way, Jose… though it it spelled Joe. No go, Joe. Jalapeño, No. How many ways can I say no?

Cheap breakfast, friendly staff and good food. I normally go to the Airport Boulevard location, but I love stopping by this one when heading downtown for breakfast. Less than $ 5 for a big plate of food and fresh-squeezed OJ.

Below average breakfast tacos. Staff was friendly. The reason I will never go here or any other business in this strip mall is: I was at this restaurant for nearly an hour. I walked across the street to my doctor’s office for 20 minutes tops. I returned and they had towed my car. $ 193 to recover it. Tow company said it is the policy if someone leaves the premises that they tow. Well, they must sit and spy on the partking lot until I was out of sight, cause I was really not gone very long. That is not a business friendly policy.

Good basic all around Tex-Mex. I go often and have tried many items but the migas tacos with bacon or sausage is my favorite along with the enchiladas and crispy tacos. Décor is very austere but I’m there for the food. I believe they are currently closing at 8:00 p.m.

Jalapeño Joes does okay Texmex at better-than-okay prices. Breakfast tacos are huge and cheap. On many a morning I’ve enjoyed two two-ingredient tacos for less than $ 3.00 after tax. The place is very popular with staff from the hospital across the street and tends to be busy at lunchtime. The food is good. Lunch specials are great value — this week I ate two grilled tilapia fillets served with rice, beans, salad and two flour tortillas and a soda drink for $ 6.00. My only criticism of the place is its foam cups and plastic cutlery for eat-in customers. It’s neither pleasant to eat with or friendly to our environment.

I’ve had nothing but problems with this place. I’ve given them numerous chances, but they have POOR customer service and the food is only marginally good. The owners are rude and the moustached hipster douche that works there is about as bright as a burned out lightbulb. First time I went there I ordered fajita tacos. On the menu it says it comes with peppers and onions. I made sure to ASK that there would be peppers and onions to confirm. I get home and on the taco is meat. That’s it. It’s a taco with THREE ingredients and they left out TWO. I drove all the way back and they blamed ME because they screwed up a taco that is on their OWN menu. It wasn’t a special order. It was a MENUITEM. I had to wait ANOTHER20 minutes to get the right order. I went there a few other times and had some generic tasting tacos. The fajitas are bland. The carne guisada is slimy. The picadillo is nasty. The hamburger was actually pretty good, which leads me to my next complaint… I go in and order the Burger Deal. Hamburger, fries, and a drink. I’m informed that the soda fountain is broke. I say, «well can you substitute a bottle of Coke for the drink?» The owner says«Yes, but I have to charge you for it.» REALLY?!? They have no problem charging me FULL price for a burger deal with NO drink, and yet they want to charge me EXTRA to include a bottle of Coke?!? What kind of customer service is that? I would eat there VERY often because it’s close to my house, but instead of including a drink with the burger deal that is SUPPOSED to include a drink(again, it’s THEIR menu item, not a special order) they decided to lose a customer rather than give up a bottle of freaking COKE. This place SUCKS.

Thought I’d try it out, it’s right on my way to school. Had the Migas plate and it was huge! And really good. I think Jalapeño Joes is a new breakfast stop for me. Great prices, and friendly staff. They got everything right on my order.
