Royce was one of the best inspector I have met so far. Very thorough and detailed. He was very patient to explain and answer all our questions, the inspector report was wonderful and timely. He did a full inspection on a house we were going to purchase, then we had him back for second inspection for repairs. excellent both times. Highly recommend Royce to anyone who is purchasing a home.

Royce was great. Timely and very comprehensive, my contractor was impressed with the amount of details that Royce picked up that he didn’t notice during his walk thru with me. We purchased a new (to us) home that was marketed as pre-​inspected and had Royce so our buyer inspection. He was fantastic! He spent several hours inspecting every nook and cranny of the house, taking pictures and making notes. He was fine with my husband tagging along and asking questions and was able to educate us on several of the systems in the house. He produced a very detailed inspection report with photos that we used to negoiate a very fair credit on the house. A friend of mine recently has Royce Moore inspect a home he was looking to buy. Being an avid DIYer and borderline obsessed with Mike Holmes, I did a preliminary «inspection» of the home. Royce Moore showed up the next day to do an official inspection and my friend just sent me the report. My god! Royce has to be one of the most thorough inspectors in the country. He caught every thing I found plus MANY, MANY more. He detailed every single item with pictures in a very extensive report. Without a doubt, this will be my guy on any home I need inspected in the future.

I was closing on a newly constructed home and needed an inspection. I evaluated several inspectors including those recommended by my realtor and other highly ranked and certified inspectors. My builder Taylor Morrison places a very stringent requirement on 3^rd party inspectors to have $ 1M (!) liability policy (state requirement is only $ 100K). I cannot imagine how an inspector could possibly cause $ 1M in damages during an inspection, but I suspect the builder is trying to limit your available pool of inspectors to those hand-​picked by them. During my interviews of inspectors, I discovered that several did seem to be on the hand picked list, which is of course the last thing you want in an inspector looking out for YOUR best interests.
So Royce Moore at Inspection Services of Austin does indeed meet the liability requirement. He also has a streak of independence and principal in doing the right thing (no matter what) which is critical. Royce was very responsive in addressing my initial inquiries and setting up an agreement to do the inspection. He offered many references and I checked several with direct conversations that were very positive.
On the day of my inspection, Royce had already begun and had spent several hours going all through the house, the roof, the attic and the exterior, giving us the opportunity for him to take me through every item of concern that he had observed. He clearly was well versed in best practices around workmanship, building code, aesthetics and safety. He is EXTREMELY detail oriented, which is what you want. We thought we had a very good house (and we do, no doubt, as no code violations or ultra major issues where found), but Royce’s attention to detail uncovered MANY issues that needed to be addressed or otherwise looked after by me over time as risk areas.
Royce produced a great inspection report with 30+ pages of issues, detailed descriptions and photos. He also produced a text only version which was helpful to carry around. I immediately sent it to my builder, and the builder (to their credit) acted upon just about every issue (most of which I would never have found by myself).
The money I spent with Royce was well worth it and resulted in a much better, finished product that I am proud to call Home.
