In.gredients

This is a small local grocery store, we went here to check out their bug eating festival. I wouldn’t really call it a festival but they had a few vendors, some live music and a raffle. I think it was a bit disorganized but we ate some crickets and grasshoppers and thought it was all OK but probably wouldn’t go back next year.
As far as the store itself goes, it is small but has a wide selection of items from dried goods to freezer items to health care items. Everything is pricey but hippies seem to be the new hipster around these parts.

You know the ingredients are special when there’s just one of each on the shelves. That won’t hold true for every item on your list, but they are definitely selective about the brands and farms they stock, which gives me peace of mind insofar as I am overwhelmed by the «variety» that supermarkets praise themselves for. So, when I buy groceries here, it’s almost always the case that I am really psyched to get home and make a new recipe, but have 1 – 2 missing ingredients and no patience to search for them at H-​E-​B or Fiesta. When I come here to eat or drink, it’s because I am attending a community event, and want to pay for the programming indirectly, but I don’t come for lunch or happy hour anymore, despite it’s proximity to my work, because I realized that I like the food’s resemblance to what I prepare at home, and I know I can pick up the ingredients and prepare it myself for cheaper. When I am older, and not on a fixed income, I’ll pay it forward! Though, the value of prepared food vs homemade will forever deter me from going out as often as others. This review is for my Austin Cafes list, so a note on the coffee: It’s Third Coast! Cold Brew! On Tap! Very tasty and not too much ice. Come for the coffee, if you want, but stick around for the community — there’s always something fun on tap.

It’s great for SUPER SPECIALTY items (think: meat from a nearby farm, vegetables from their own garden, coconut oil in bulk), but to use them as your sole source of groceries would be a bit of a stretch. If you want so my sauce, you’re going to need to bring your own bottle to put that soy sauce in. They do serve wine, and have happy hour 3 – 6, though they serve it in a mouse-​sized glass that looks like a small bowl for toddlers. Here, you can find great coffee beans, nice staff, hilarious greeting cards, and locally made kimchi. Just don’t expect too much more.

Local ingredients. Beers and kombucha on tap! A rotating calendar of events! And a fenced playground (almost entirely fenced)!

Overpriced boutique feel, but the food is a was fresh and local. Plus people are friendly too, and I always see someone I know from our neighborhood

I used to love this place and would bring my family to events often. The staff seems to be getting more and more pretentious; seems to happen to any «cool coffee shop» in Austin. As a long time Austin-​ite, chill out ya’ll. Bring back the groove.

Beautiful place! Was looking for dried herbs for medicinale use and unfortunately they didn’t have what I needed BUT they were super helpful in giving me information about their products. The lady helping me was sweet enough to point me in the direction of an herb shop that would have more of what I was looking for. Boyfriend was hungry and awesomely enough they have food! We loved the grilled cheese and apple sandwich. Teas and tasty pecan thingys were delicious!

Cool and exciting place to shop, eat and hang out. We got our travel supplies here (the seasonal, local fresh vege selection was pretty slim pickings — but that’s the sad reality for local fresh produce in the middle of winter!) great craft beer on tap, fantastic vegetarian counter food which we ate on the communal picnic tables outdoors and had fun with our two year old on the playground. It was a memorable and terrific find for travelers looking for an Authentic Austin local experience
— the sort that you’ll remember for years to come!

Splendid micro-​grocer, with lots of local products! They also sell craft beer (bottles, cans, and on tap) and have a lovely outdoor space to sit and listen to some live music if that’s going on when you’re visiting. The cherry on top for me is they have KOMBUCHA on TAP!!! Love. I wish I lived closer!

I actually like this place (a little) and that’s why I won’t go as low as 1 star but I find some of their whole thing a little obnoxious. I’m forced to conclude that in being the anti-​convenience store they’ve become the inconvenience store. No parking lot? Don’t open until 9am? Why is there a stockade fence around the place? I’d like to transact business with y’all — a cup of coffee on my way to work would be nice but you make it difficult. Don’t get me started on a name that includes punctuation.

This is a delightful space — both the store and the outdoor section wth the picnic tables are beautiful and relaxing but I wish it weren’t so expensive! I was put out by the WAY marked up price of a can of Amy’s soup. I loved the vegetable selection; they had cool unique choices and all incredibly fresh. I loved my bulk granola, and my local kombucha. I got two empanadas from the case and they were thoroughly meh. Underseasoned with a gummy crust. Service was great.

This place has saved me from having to trek it to the grocery store so many nights. If you just need to grab some random stuff to make a nice dinner, in. gredients is a great alternative to getting take-​out or braving the grocery store. They have obscure stuff that you would never see at a huge shore. If you go there enough you will start figuring out your favorite items. I now have things I’ll only buy there, like eggs. They also have good canning and fermenting supplies. The only rough thing is that the produce is not consistent but that’s because everything is seasonal, so not really a complaint. It’s just kind of a crap shoot. you can’t expect them to have something specific. Also it’s a tad pricey but seems worth it to me, personally. Some stuff is actually cheaper for what you get, like eggs.

So cute… local, bands, food, beer… all is amazing.

Forgot a razor when I packed for my weekend in Austin, and we were staying on the East Side right across from in.gredients. So, yeah, I bought an $ 8 razor made from recycled materials. Austin. But in. gredients is pretty cool. When I lived in Austin, I met some East Side friends for Geeks Who Drink night (Thursdays) at in.gredients. They also have open mic nites. They have beers on tap, and prepared foods that can be reheated (slices of pizza, frittatas, etc.). Fun, VERY Austin place to hang out.

Staff is always so friendly besides for this one female that works there :(I do not know her name but I went in this morning 9÷17÷15 around 10:45am and she was working. She never smiles, never says hi and is always so short. Not sure if she has a problem with other females or just hates her job. This is the 3^rd time that she has appeared this way towards me which makes me sad cause I love everyone that works there! Always so friendly and happy, one of the reason why I LOVE shopping at in.gredients.

These guys promoted an event through Facebook and we decided to check em out. It’s a market that specializes in local products and occasionally brings in live music. They also serve food within the market and based on the line I’d say it’s delectable. The vibe was laxed and positive. The groceries are marked up higher than you’d see at an HEB or somewhere similar… naturally{pun intended}. They have restrooms and the outside seating area is covered.

Super fresh local produce! Really thankful for some delicious veggies! Nice selection of beer! I got a Belgian quad super yummy! Also devoured some edamame salad and sweet potato tamales!

I stopped in today to finally check this place out. I thought (when I read about them when they first opened) it was a 100% bulk store. I saw that they have a small bulk section and it is primarly groceries and frozen foods. I feel that this is a cute store, but it isn’t «WOW» like I thought it would be. It reminds me of all the other little shops co-​ops or small gas station grocery stores (I mean the hippy, Austin type gas stations, not the normal gas stations)… It is in a cute green building and they do provide small carts. They have local products and the prices aren’t much higher then normal places. Just for me, it was cute, but nothing that I would drive out of my way for. If you live in the area, or live in the surrounding areas (college students), then it is definitely worth the walk over. Support little shops like this and they will thrive.

It was my first visit to this little ecofriendly grocery and café and I have to say I think it is not only adorable, but what a great concept!
I came here for a coffee to go with my breakfast tacos from Taco Mex and really took a look around. They have a nice little selection of organic and low-​zero waste products and off a plethora of beverages ranging from kombucha to cold brew coffee to almond milk. They have an array of spices, grind-​your own coffees, and a hodgepodge of organic vitamins, personal care products, cleaning products, and other grocery items along with locally sourced and grown items.
They do have hot brew coffee and beverages, sandwiches, and pastries behind the counter, but I can only speak to the hot brew coffee, which was ok, but it was not as strong as I would have preferred and was $ 2.50 (but there are free refills). What I do love is their self-​serve station because they have raw stevia! They have honey, agave, and natural sugar as well, but the raw stevia was just awesome (cuz a little really does go a looooong way!).
The staff here is absolutely fantastic and you can tell they are passionate about this place. I really like that they are such a low-​zero waste business. They have some of their stats on their chalkboard bulletins and it is so impressive!
The grounds are fantastic as well! They have a covered table area (with heaters), open air tables, a porch bar with stools (so you can people watch on Manor from the comfort of their «front porch!»), but my favorite thing is a they have a couple of rocking chairs. There is just something very welcoming, comforting, and familiar about rocking on a front porch and drinking a nice beverage watching the world pass by!
I can see myself frequenting this place every chance I get when I am on the Eastside!

Ah, I really love this grocery store. It is my ideal store — not too big, prices aren’t unrealistic and they don’t kill me with numerous (bad) food options.
They only carry the best, think of whole foods but, only the outer perimeter, aka — the fruits, veggies, milk and dairy, prepared foods and bulk grains/​foods. All of it, grass fed, organic and local. Also, they have seedlings, a couple of crafts and toiletries. Where can I go to get grass feed beef bones for broth, grab some pastured milk for the kid and get a glass of Kombucha on my way out the door? Here!!!
Before or after you stock the essentials for your pantry, grab a slice of pizza or quiche, a vegan cupcake and a glass of beer/​kombucha and then kick back. Many delicious prepared food and drink options are inside and you can enjoy them at one of the picnic tables outside.
Word to the wise, bring your own containers/​bottles for dry goods, liquid homeopathic medicine, soap, kombucha and the like. They don’t have individually packaged items, you have to package what you want to buy yourself, as you shop.
Great playground for kids out front, parking in a private lot in the back, wi-​fi and rocking chairs on the front porch. What more could you want?
