History

Established in 1970.

This store has been here since the 1970s. It was one of the busiest grocery stores in the area back in the day. It was called Hyridge Grocery and the new name since 2014 is now Hyridge Mart. It is a neighborhood «mom-​and-​pop» type convenience store. The owner of this business is an Austinite; born, raised, and continues to live here.

I was a stay at home mom and wife for 23 years. Due to financial issues, I had to jump into work to help out with our mortgage, and other payments and bills. This store was getting ready to be shut down when I took over. I had zero to no experience in the convenience store business. I was told this store did not have a chance and to give it up. Our staff has managed to bring it back to life! We are slowly but surely getting Hyridge Mart back on track and we expect it will be one of the busiest stores in the area again soon!
