History

Established in 2007.

After recognizing a need in the community for a practical, student focused, approach to individual guitar instruction, Mark formed the Howlinfish School of Guitar. Applying his experience as a performer and player, Mark’s easy going nature and temperament has allowed him to develop a style of instruction that is both insightful and intuitive. Mark creates lessons based on each student’s goals and skill levels, providing a positive and creative approach to learning the instrument. You’ll find your lessons will be both fun and educational.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

First inspired by the music of the early seventies, Mark Fisher has been a guitarist for over thirty years.

He is an accomplished musician and songwriter and has made his home in Austin, Nashville, Atlanta, and Jackson, MS.

Mark was a founding member of the folk– rock group Plainjane, where he played lead guitar and developed his skills as a creative and insightful songwriter. Touring the southeast extensively, and releasing a critically acclaimed self titled CD, Plainjane performed in venues ranging from small clubs to national concert stages for over seven years.

Utilizing his knowledge of «all things guitar» and a degree in advertising, Mark has spent ten years working in sales and marketing for several small but elite manufactures of high end acoustic guitars.

Mark loves to teach, and has a great passion for music, people, and the guitar.
