Here at Gunter, Bennett and Anthes, we represent individuals and entities under investigation for or charged with all state and federal crimes. With over 65 years combined experience, we provide representation from the investigation stage through trial and, if necessary, appeal. Our attorneys are on call 24 hours a day to help with any criminal law matter that may arise.

Our attorneys all began their legal careers as prosecutors in Travis County. Chris Gunter was chief of the trial division of the Travis County Attorney’s Office before moving to the District Attorney’s Office. Alan Bennett also worked as an Assistant County Attorney and Assistant District Attorney. Gene Anthes, who joined the firm in 2007, also began his career as an Assistant County Attorney. The knowledge and experience we acquired as prosecutors have benefited us greatly in defending our clients over the past 25 years. Mr. Bennett is a fabulous attorney. He is patient, resourceful, and very helpful. During the time I worked with him, he always responded my questions with legit explanations, completed his due diligence, and went the extra mile to provide me with all the information I needed to make decisions. Worked with Chris Gunter and the firm to resolve a DWI case… He went above and beyond the call of duty and was able to get my 3rd offense down to a 1st offense and a 3 jail sentence (which I had time served from the org arrest). Not only that, he answered his phone in the middle of the night and made arrangements to get me out of jail immediately after the arrest. All of this was with a very reasonable fee and he even worked with me on payment arrangements. These guys have a outstanding relationship with the judges and can work magic! Don’t listen to any negative reviews… Chris was a huge help and made this such an easy process… These guys are great and worth every penny!!!
