Groovy Lube

Great service. Great price. No hassle. I’ve been getting my oil changed here for years and am now finally reviewing them. The mechanics here are always honest and straight forward about servicing my vehicle. Of course — like anything where you rely upon professional assistance — it never hurts to know a bit about the state of your vehicle before bringing it in.

Fast, easy, reliable! I really like working with the guys over at groovy automotive. They have a great little coffee shop next door with the nicest people and easy access Wi-​Fi for when you wait… which is not very long. I’ll keep going back!

I don’t even know where to start. I am on the road and didn’t have my paperwork accessible from a random visit to Groovy Lube, so I called to confirm the mileage at the time of the last oil change. They told me that whoever processed the car on that visit didn’t enter the mileage at time of service. That is SOP for anyone who begins working on a car. Never again. My cars are too important an investment to be left to people who don’t respect my investment in a vehicle and the hours it too for me to make that money. Seriously Groovy Lube. That’s completely unprofessional.

I started going to Groovy Lube in 2013 because of a great deal they offered on Groupon. Now, 2.5 years later I still use them because of the customer service and decent prices. I don’t feel pressured when I take my car to them to get unnecessary services like at other shops. The prices are well within my budget with the student discount. It is important to support local businesses when you can, and this is one that I recommend to all of my friends and family members.

Under the new management, I received great and friendly service. I had a oil change and inspection done. I will be going back. Sending a shout out to them!

Last time I came in for an oil change: was in and out in a surprisingly short amount of time. Pricing was pretty average. Decided to come back again.
Second time back and I’m doing an oil change and work on my breaks. Called them this morning to set up an appointment. Arrived a bit early and they were able to help me out a bit early.
They offer a shuttle to wherever so that’s a plus.
They have a few toys (Legos and picture books) to keep kids entertained.
Dog friendly with some treats available for your pooch.
Cleanliness is above average for an auto shop.
Bathrooms are very clean.
Good customer service overall. I’ll probably continue coming back here.

We’ll never go to another mechanic! Customer service at its best. Through the years, we’ve noticed little things they do to make it a nice experience, even things like a rattling in the dash or a loose panel– these things are magically «healed» after a simple oil change. Is there such a thing as a «Holistic Health Center for Cars?» Because that’s pretty much how we feel about Groovy Lube.
But even where the rubber meets the road: what happened to us could have been a disaster. We were lucky because we chose Groovy Lube.
I won’t go into details about the mistake, because that’s not what’s important in this review. What is important is:
1) We’ve trusted these guys with our cars for many, many years and this is the first time we’ve had a hiccup.
2) We knew, the moment we realized what happened, they’d make it right and they absolutely did. It wasn’t even a question.
3) They were honest, attentive, and quick to repair what went wrong.
Thank you, Groovy Lube, for being incredibly awesome. You take care of our cars and you take care of us!

Rico is the manager and he was very helpful. There was the usual recommendations for an Air Filter (19.99) and a Fuel Injection Cleaning (19.99) but all I wanted was an Oil Change.
He honored the Unilocal $ 3.00 off coupon to bring the total down and I appreciated it!
For simple repairs and fixes I recommend this garage.

If I could give them 20,000 stars, I would. I’m even tempted to write four-​thousand five-​star reviews complimenting their shirts and shoes to accomplish such a feat. But let’s see if this can suffice for a chunk of that…
I have frequented the attached Café, La Tazza Fresca, for years (seriously, y’all — best Chai around!), and though I’ve always had pleasant exchanged with the workers of Groovy, I for some reason never took my car there. I would typically go to the Jiffy Lube across the street, because branding and whatnot. This changed a few months back when I got my State Inspection done here. One gets to wait in said-​beloved coffee shop whilst the workers do their thang, which is so much nicer than sitting in a sparse waiting room (though one can do that here, too, if they’re attached to such experiences). On this instance, the employees were super kind and personable, and they vacuumed my car per gratis! Which was a super lovely touch, and really made me smile.
That experience totally rocketed Groovy above Jiffy. And today’s instance… I don’t even know if I’m at liberty to say how much wonder happened. So I’ll cautious, but just know whatever I’m about to say should be amplified.
My air conditioner has been fritzy lately, which I thought was due to low coolant, because that seems to have made sense and I don’t know shit about cars. So I pull up to the service, and a man later identified as Carlos answers my advance. I tell him my AC’s blowing hot air, so I think it’s the coolant. He tells me it’s probably the freon — actually, this part is unimportant. So imma fast-​forward.
He says he’ll check things out. I also mention that one of my tires has a weird cap and, therefore, gets low on air every couple of weeks, which is kind of annoying. So he says he’ll check my tires and their caps, too. Whatta guy!
I amble in to Tazza, reading and having a lovely time with the barrista. About ten-​fifteen minutes into this, a man approaches me, I see from Imperial Glass. He mentions how they checked my windshield and saw some cracks, and told me how they were going to repair it for free because insurance rules. I happened to have my insurance card in my purse and hand it to him and am giddy of this freebie. How unexpected! New windows! Yay!
He leaves, and then Carlos comes in some moments later. He shows me pictures on his phone of the underbelly of my hood. He says how he did the diagnostic, no worries there. He then goes on to say that he happed to have some Freon for his car, and decided to use some of that to check my car’s freon — which alone is like WHAT?! THAT’S SO NICE! — and, in doing so, found there was a tubey-​thingy being rubbed by accelerator fucking things up. So that’s the AC problem.
Buttt, while he was down there, he noticed I was low on oil — so he filled me back up. No charge. And he also filled my tires and replaced the caps, and vacuumed, and probably made some magical safety-​barrier around my car. I don’t even know. I was so overwhelmed.
So, to top it off, we chat about said-​tubey-​thingy, and he offers to call around for quotes. I call him my Grease-​like-​Beauty-​School-​Guardian-​Angel, he leaves, I continue reading, the glass guys come back to arrange fixtures, they leave.
You know what? Too much exposition/​secrets revealed, maybe.
So more fast-​forwarding.
Carlos returns, finds a killer deal for tubey-​repair. I try to slip him some monies for all he’s going above-​and-​beyond for, and he DENIES IT. WHAT?! WHAT!!!
AND! The kicker! It’s fucking DOWNPOURING like CRAZY during this. So, on our last encounter, he even says «Come on through our office on your way out and I’ll get your umbrella from your car». WHAT?!
So, in summary…
I come in for a coolant check, and new tire cap.
I receive a repaired window, oil refill, diagnostic, Freon-​tube quote-​magic, vacuumed car, aired and capped tires, chivalry, and restored faith in humanity — ALL FOR FREE.
The secret’s out! I probably shouldn’t be saying all of this! But expect 3,999 reviews from me complimenting their uniforms and keychains to make up for all of this amazement! Or just do the math yourself, because I’ve consumed some wine since and, y’know, sleep’s healthy…
BUT JUST COME HERE and be a decent human being and they’ll be magic and get a chai whilst you wait and it will be incredible!

I’ve had my oil changed here for the past three years without any issues. Initially my loyalty was contingent upon several very cheap Groupon coupons but I just kept coming back since it was on the way to work. There’s not much to say about the service since I only got oil changes. The staff is best described as amicable. They always offer to fix the impact crater on my windshield (sorry, no) or replace my cabin air filter (sorry, I can do that myself with a $ 10 Amazon order). I’ve definitely seen them be much pushier about the extra services with other patrons though. I’d say the average oil change takes about 20 minutes from drop-​off to checkout.

Somehow my oil change price went up $ 40 from the time I got a quote over the phone and when I actually brought my car in to be serviced. Also just found out they used the wrong oil for my vehicle when I brought in into a decent place with customer service. I def. felt taken advantage of. Two thumbs down.

I’ve always had great service here. But today I was especially impressed. They gave me all the info I needed. They were very clear about pricing, finished in 15 minutes, and changed my back wiper at no charge. I’ll definitely be back!

I love this place. I came here on a groupon twice and keep coming back. They check everything and even vacuum the car which I love. Super friendly, fast and reasonable. They give you a $ 5 off coupon each time also and the 6^th change is free!

Good service. Quick work and the staff doesn’t serve up any B.S. Oil change and transmission flush for just over $ 100. Feeling good at chances of winning a $ 50 gift card from their drawing.

Groovy is the word! Rico and team are amazing with their preventative and cost-​saving approach to car maintenance. I had an inspection and their service was friendly, efficient and joyful. They also gave me advice about additional tips to keep my ’97 Miata engine in good shape.

I’ve taken oil here to get changed and the experience has always been alright, friendly if a bit slow.
But they all of a sudden stopped letting me bring my own oil due to vague ‘liability concerns’ — definitely seems like the liability is them not being able to sell their very expensive oil.
Will not be back.

I am 110% satisfied with the outstanding level of service I received from Groovy Lube this morning! First of all, their Saturday hours are so convenient for us M-​F working folk, and I arrived shortly before 9am on a Saturday for transmission fluid service and was greeted and taken care of immediately. I went for coffee next door and Chris came in and found me to tell me they observed 3 chipped areas on my windshield. I have Geico for insurance so this additional work was free of charge. Chris made the process so easy! I was out of there by 9:15am. Ed also assisted with the work and he was very sweet and friendly, as was the woman who rang me up. I highly recommend Groovy Lube. They are sincere and trustworthy, not to mention pleasant to work with.

Friendly service, okay selection of oil, but ridiculously over priced.
$ 98.00 for a full synthetic change, normally 75ish but apparently one additional quart is $ 10.50.
Even the dealership is cheaper than this place. Never coming back.

I was skeptical but I needed an oil change fast and they didn’t have any wait.
The girl at the front desk was very helpful. Gave me a quote on the price of the oil change and then told me to drive my car around. There are no reservations so it’s hit or miss with that, I got a hit. I was doing my laundry next door and I was hoping it would be done at the same time as my laundry. I was wrong, they were done before I needed to change loads to the dryer!
I got a call from them and I understood it was Groovy Lube but I couldn’t understand what the gent on the other end was saying because he was talking so very quickly. I had to have him repeat himself twice and I gave up and just went to go talk to them. They wanted to do additional repairs (like EVERY mechanic location, just due diligence and up-​selling, I understand) I declined and my car was done about 15 mins later.
Pros: Fast, affordable, good location, friendly help (good to see women working there as well!)
Cons: no posted prices, hard to hear over the phone

Grooooovy baby! My husband buys Groupons for Groovy Lube all the time. It’s a great deal, and I like supporting local businesses. I go early on Fridays, and I usually do not have to wait. There is a coffee shop next door, so I like to pop in and get a coffee while I’m waiting. Groovy Lube is also dog friendly.
Being a woman, I always get hassled when I’m having work done on my car. Trying to sell this, convince me I need that, etc. I’ve gotten pretty good at sternly responding with, «I’ll have my husband call you later» or «I can’t have anything done without speaking with my husband». Ha! That usually shuts them up.
I don’t know if they have a restroom, and there is very limited seating (unless you go to the coffee shop next door). They are usually quick, and they vacuum for free!
