One of my favorite places to go to. I sometime just go to browse. Very spiritual, very metaphysical. The owner is a great person to talk to as question. I would love to see a Metaphysical Fair there, great place for it.

I love this botanica. Half the fun is just looking around ant all the herbs and Velas. The Cazares family has owned this institution forever and it shows. They know their stuff. They have candles for every spell or wish on the planet. They have some beautiful Virgen statues, rosaries and jewelry made with real gemstones. I love to get my desert sage and incense here. The copal and frankincense is amazing! I like to just hang out and talk to John about what is happening in the healing community. He is very down to earth and unpretentious. I am so glad this wonderful establishment is still thriving! I will continue to buy my curanderos supplies from the Green and White!

This store has been a favorite of mine for over 20 yrs. I still come back even though I live in SA. John has some medicine –natural– for all kind of folks. Texas Medicinals is one of my favorite brands that I recommend to Women. Be sure to ask him about the new pendants and pendulums he got in made by former resident Rose Twofeathers. He carries sacred herbs like sage, sweet grass, copal, lavender and more for ceremony. I get candles, herbs and incense from the store. Always a pleasure to visit and do business with this East Austin institution– live long and prosper Locally!

The Green and White has been in my business neighborhood much longer than I have and I’ve been here 35 Years. I remember when I could walk over and get a hamburger or tamales at Christmas. But John Jr turned it into a fabulous herberia with fun and useful things.

Beautiful store, beautiful owners. I felt such a sense of companionship and love here unlike more of the SoCo stores. There are multifaceted herbs, potions, tinctures, books on spells, and beautiful deities. They have an awesome«Holy Death» altar for you to contribute to and the candles make my mouth water. This a great store for the experienced and the inexperienced to meld minds and feel the presence of real old world magic. Go visit and feel the love of community, power, and ultimate healing. Great for witches, healers, and little lost hearts. XO

There is something to be said for the awesome FEEL of this store. Very authentic«brujeria» vibe going on in here, and I LOVE it. These guys also stock EVERYTHING you could need for anything metaphysical in nature. They also have a ton of dried herbs all over the place for those who wish to make their own herbal teas, poultices, ointments, etc. One of my favorite stores here in Austin, and their prices are very good as well!

Check this place out. One of the things I like about the Green and White Grocery is that it is so unpretentious. They really don’t even sell groceries. The only real food item they have are the cokes in the bottle from Mexico. They have some great teas and tonics for various ailments and the merchandise is just scattered throughout the store. No yuppie«merchandising» or clever ironic signage, just a store with stuff in it. This is a very rare breed of store in Austin. Many years ago they sold tamales at Christmas but they have not done that for a few years. Try the«Remedies Tejanos Tonika» tea, it is a special calming tea that does wonders for stress and is made by the owner.
