I called this GameStop to ask where they’re located. I arrived 10 minutes later to find that the store has been closed for half an hour. This sums up the degree of customer service I expect from GameStop.

This store is AMAZING! The manager and staff go out of there way to make sure that your experience is great. If your in the area stop by this location and make sure to ask for Shereen she will make sure to get you taken care of.

I always shop at GameStop for all of my gaming needs and I have never had worse customer service than at this one. The guy that worked behind the counter(short brown hair) was incredibly rude to the woman before me checking out and then treated me poorly when I finally got up there. He kept arguing with me back and fourth. Ever heard of the customer is always right? Or, don’t be a huge jerk if you ever want customers to return? Yeah, definitely not ever shopping at this GameStop again.

Super annoying customer service. Pushy dude wouldn’t leave us alone and treated us like we didn’t know anything. Ugh.

Great store but hell the customer service by this heavy set tattoo’d girl with her bright red lipstick? HORRIBLE! Wow, I’d give her negative 10 stars if I can! Mind you we were very nice & she’s the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with at a Game Stop! Girl, seriously, play some Black Ops & let off some of that anger, take it out on a game & not your customers! Next time, I’d drive all the way to slaughter location, they are more helpful and amazing customer service there!

Is it fair to plagiarize another review? Steve E.‘s review is spot on for Gamestop in general so I will just talk about what I like and dislike about this particular store. I like the service I receive here. All of the employees are knowledgeable about video games on different platforms. I have caught myself sitting in here after making my purchase just talking shop so to speak. Considering their size they generally have all major titles, new and used. Also, I have never had an issue finding a console here, I believe this is because they are small and kind of hidden in this shopping center. Also, they have done every midnight launch that Gamespot has offered, which was an issue I ran into when living up in Williamson county with some of their stores. My lone dislike is the selection of lesser titles. I wish they would use their space better. Trash the 5000002007 – 2009 sports games that no one will buy and carry some other titles. This is not their fault it is just annoying for my local game store to be overrun with crap titles when space is at a premium.

Gamestop is like the Starbuck’s of video game shops. Nobody quite knows how they got popular, but one day you woke up, and there was one on nearly every corner. They’re not big warehouses like Walmart, but rather smaller«neighborhood» shops(which are more or less identical to every other location) carrying video games both new and used. This location is probably one of the smaller Gamestop locations in Austin and is nestled in the Westgate Shopping Center between a faux-Antique furniture store(that has probably never sold a thing) and an Amy’s ice creams, near the movie theater. Their game selection for both new and used, though, is fairly impressive considering the size of the place. Price-wise you’re not going to see a big difference between new and used if it’s fairly recent or on a new console(PS3, Wii). Generally, that’s around 10% off the new price. Their used game selection for recent consoles is outstanding though. Even if you’re looking for games for an older console like PS2 and Gamecube, you can sometimes find hidden gems, used, for less than $ 10. Accessories are a high point for Gamestop. While not everything is cheaper than, say, a Target, their house brand and used items generally offer a decent discount – especially on things like controllers and component cables – versus buying new elsewhere. Sure, you may feel soulless after buying from here versus a place like Game Over, but the selection is good, prices competitive, and the many locations throughout town make them hard to pass up.
