Business Owner

I’ve worked in pre-​kindergarten and elementary school classrooms in public schools for 10 years. The classrooms seemed to get fuller and fuller as the years went by and I couldn’t spend the amount of time with students that I felt they needed. I wanted more for my students so I decided to start my own classroom in my home. That way I could lower my classroom size, increase the time I could spend with each student, and do what I love — teach. I am certified in ESL Early Childhood — 4^th grade, but my first love has always been pre-​k.

In my classroom, there is a focus on literacy and I try to integrate it into everything we do, from math activities to art if I can find a way to slip it in there I will. It’s important to me because I feel literacy is our foundation and everything else builds from there.
