Freedom Solar Power

My sales rep Kyle Frazier is a very straight-​forward person with a wealth of knowledge on solar systems. He has responded in detail to all of my questions both on the phone and in-​person. Freedom strikes me as the most solid company to deal with for a solar system.

These guys are complete professionals. From the initial sales pitch to installation. They have been incredibly communicative throughout the process. If you’re looking for a PV solution look no further.

I called around to see about getting solar for my home.
I have a few large trees and knew it would be difficult.
Calling around, Freedom Solar was the only company that would agree to come out and assess my home. Everyone else looked my house up online and would not even come out.
Unfortunately, I was not able to get solar on this house. But, I can assure you that this company is top notch and I highly recommend.
Next house, they will be the first ones I call.

We had Freedom Solar install panels on our house in Rockport, Texas. Federico was our sales rep and walked us through the whole process. He was very professional, knowledgeable and obviously likes his job. The free evaluation provided good information on what the setup would look like and its performance. They provided all the necessary information on both the Federal and utility rebate. Through their affiliates, they arranged for a low interest loan for the residual cost and a zero interest loan to cover the Federal tax credit. There were no out of pocket expenses and the installation went smoothly. There was a minor hiccup when the electrical interface between our wind turbine and the solar panels created a unpleasantly noisy control box, but it was quickly re-​engineered and is now perfectly quiet.
I did the first full year’s analysis of the production recently and found that we produced electricity in excess of what was necessary to cover the cost of the loan. The excess is sufficient to cover nearly two months of air conditioning down here on the coast, so this is a considerable value-​added. One word of caution for folks considering installation. The local utility companies do not have to by back your excess production in Texas. That will alter the financials of the investments, so do your homework. Green Mountain Electric is our provider and buys back the excess.

After thorough researching the various providers of Solar Systems, I decided to award the project to Freedom Solar Power. Now that the system is up and running at full capacity I can say that I made an excellent decision.
The overall system cost was competitive and the execution was up to company’s reputation. They accommodated my needs and completed the system in record time so I will be able to claim federal tax credit for the 2014 tax return.
The monitoring software for the energy production and consumption is fascinating because it allows not only to verify that the system is working well but also provides useful hints on energy consumption of various appliances that eventually lead to lowering of the overall energy consumption and lower the energy bill.
Please make sure you take into account the potential delays that may be caused by the HOA approval and final system turn on by Austin Energy. Both are independent of the good execution from Freedom Solar that were willing to take risks and move on with their part prior to receiving the official approvals.
I strongly recommend getting a solar system for your home and using Freedom Solar as your provider.

The who process took a little longer then I’d expected but to Freedom Solar’s credit most of the delay was with the city of Austin. Everybody we dealt with was extremely professional and the installers did a great job especially given the fact that our install was a little more complicated then originally expect.

I had been contemplating solar power for my home for quite some time. After a very disappointing experience with another company I decided to try Freedom Solar Power. The initial presentation was comprehensive and made easy to understand for my non-​technical mind. The fact that the panels are American made was a great plus. All the official paperwork was handled for me which prevented a number of headaches. The crew was efficient, polite and cleaned up the mess when all was done. My electric bills or lack thereof has been a pleasure. Federico was my point person and he IS customer service personified. I cannot recommend highly enough Freedom Solar Power!

We took the plunge into solar in the summer of 2014. Between falling solar panel prices, federal rebates, and utility incentives it made sense. Both financially and feeling good about producing energy from the sun.
We got quotes from a number of companies. We decided on Freedom for a number of reasons. One the only offered us micro inverter systems. These produce more energy, more reliably than something called string systems. Second they used panels made in North America. The panels and inverters had good warranties. They also offered true no interest financing for a year which allows us time to get our federal rebate.
So the price and panels were good. Then the installers were efficient and pleasant. Reps were always available via email or phone. Output so far in the first two months has met or exceeded projections. Note we are in Oncor service area so not just Austin offers rebates although Oncor can run out of rebate money later in a year.
Over all highly recommended you at minimum contact Freedom and I recommend putting them at the top of your list.

Adam and the guys were fantastic! We considered several different solar panel installers, but Freedom was the only one to offer several size and technology options. After several back and forth iterations, Freedom’s architects delivered a solar array design that absolutely met our needs for performance and cost. They mentored us through the finance options, rebate and inspection process, and managed a smooth and efficient installation. And we couldn’t be happier with both the appearance and the production! The savings on our electric bills have been just as projected. We’re completely satisfied with the entire experience. If you want solar done right, these are the guys!

The old adage «you get what you pay for» holds very true when it comes to installing a solar array. Freedom Solar was not the cheapest but the quality and professionalism of the team from sales to final inspection cannot be beat. The owner made the final sales pitch and his meticulousness and attention to detail won me over. By the way, this attention to detail has somehow been propagated to all the technical people that I met during installation.
I had a 6.24kW system installed in March 2014 and I’ve been getting about $ 100 credit towards my electricity bill every month since.

Highly recommend Freedom Solar. Everyone was very helpful & explained everything in great detail. Installers were respectful, clean & fast! Financing options made it an even better deal.

I would definitely recommend Freedom Solar Power for installing Solar panels. They are too good. I personally recommend Jason Guthrie whom i worked with throughout our home project. Jason is very knowledgeable about solar panels. He explained everything about solar panels. He is very professional, answering phone calls, emails. He was very patient enough to explain all the questions. Freedom solar power is one of the few installers in central TX who install Sunpower panels.
The installation crew did a great job in finishing the installation in 2 days. They did not cause any damage to the roof.
Obviously they were very competitive on the prices compared to other dealers.
Jason Guthrie did a great job in designing the layout and shading analysis. He got up the roof where other solar panel installers did a google view of the roof layout.
Overall a great experience working with Freedom solar power. Go green and go with freedom :)

These guys are top notch. As the other reviews have said they are super responsive and for someone like myself that had lots of questions this made all the difference. I called up Freedom Solar after getting several other quotes and actually just canceling a contract with A/​C Solar Solutions. Talk about timing… They had just given a presentation at my wife’s company and she asked me to give them a call. Over the phone I told them about what I was looking for with system size and the panel options I was considering. Within a few hours they had pulled my home information off the net and had a proposal with size and quoted cost. They walked me through all the details and the pros and cons on the systems I was considering.
They were SUPER respectful and you could tell that they have a customer first mentality that’s not just words on a page. You could also tell that they have a passion for what they do! and Adrian specifically, I’m super glad that I was fortunate enough to have him as an installer on this project. He took the time to answer my even more questions, show me the details of my system and gave me his cell phone number to ring him up if I had other questions. And he answered when I called! They worked around my crazy travel schedule and had the panels ordered and installed in a matter of week. They ensured all the needed information was submitted to AE to get the rebate. They also came out to meet with the inspector and ensure that everything went smoothly and that any issues would be quickly resolved. And last but not least, the install comes with a product lifetime service/​labor warranty from Freedom Solar, with Freedom monitoring production.
There were a few hiccups through the process, such as Austin Energy modifying/​reducing the rebate amount and some gutter downspout clearance stuff but the first was not something that Freedom could control and the second was quickly resolved. I recommend this company HIGHLY! Actually, my neighbors have been asking me to let them know how everything goes as they are considering installing solar as well and I HAVE recommended Freedom and will continue to do so…
