Dammit, Freddy! Stop making me like you more and more! Seriously. Go look at my other reviews where I bumped you from two to three, now to four stars. Can we talk here? I still think your hamburgers are weirdly crispy and too thin. This is par for course when at your place. Everything is like from McDonald’s, only if you hit it with a shrink ray. However, you got an additional star from me for the damn good custard. Then another star for the fact that you serve Vienna Beef hot dogs with the casing still on and some decent chili. Now, I tried your patty melt, almost on a dare… and it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. How? *** For those who don’t know, a patty melt here is two hamburgers cemented together with melted cheese and onions, placed between two slices of rye bread. And for the truly knowledgeable, this concoction is served where the bread has been buttered and seared on a griddle, not toasted. Guess what Freddy does? If you guessed the griddle, you’d be right. The result takes a substandard single-patty burger and transforms it into a just-enough meat, just-enough cheese delight and put them onto something as crisp and as flavorful as a properly done panini. My hat is off to you, Freddy. I’ll be dragging myself back when I need another hit. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the ‘CTJ Scale’, as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus’ Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn’t have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn’t have my penultimate supper here, either.

Daughter and I came here for first time. Super friendly service. Gentleman who helped us… so nice. I was skeptical on the thin burger but really good. Great fries! Cute diner. We will be back.

For a fast food place, this is the best in the area! :) Customer Service is amazing! The manager came by and asked how everything was, and even offered to get us a refill on our drinks. It made for a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back! :) The food was very good, too. Especially the fries. Definitely worth checking out! :)

Most incapable service ever. Waited at the drive they speaker for 10 minutes before someone came on and took my order. Now you might think I came at an odd hour– nope– it was 12:30PM on a Saturday! I would have escaped the drive through and gone somewhere with capable management but was blocked in. Next time — go left and go to chicken express.

To me, the burgers are good. The meat is a little on the thin side, but thats not a big deal to me. The ice cream is great! Can’t really say much about the service they always seem nice but I’ve only delta with the drive through. Not a fan of the fries. That’s just a personal thing, they are small shoestring style.

The service here is good. The food isn’t up to par with popular competitiors. There aren’t healthy options, like a salad and there’s a lot of fat and sugar as the only option. I’ve eating here a couple of times and both times the food quality was consistently below average. The fries are shoestring, hot and for the most part crispy. The taste by themselves without salt is meh, with salt it’s average at best. The burger is completely tasteless. Their burgers totally relies on on the condiments to enhance the taste. The smashed burgers are really thin and borders being cooked tasteless, because the fat is smashed out of it. Therefore you’re left with lean meat that’s really thin and easily overcooked. Smash Burger uses the smashed process but there patties are thicker and more flavorful. I would say don’t expect to be wowed regarding the food quality here, but it does what a fast food joint is supposed to, years a go. These days you got to at least have a salad and healthy sides for the kids.

All I can say is that the nighttime Manager is a total JERK. Absolutely no customer service skills at all. My only regret is that I do not remember his name(tall, slender, bald guy). We pulled up to the drive-thru and could not hear the person taking our order due to the volume being next to zero. We finally got our order placed and proceeded to the window. We politely informed the«Manager» that we could not hear a word through the speaker, and his response with a blank stare was«nobody else has a problem hearing» like we were crazy. Then as soon as I asked if he was a manager, he changed is tone and offered custard for my dogs in the back seat… in a patronizing tone. Then he handed the back of «food» to me, and didn’t check the order, and of coarse it was missing an item. There is no excuse for a rude tone or comment when someone is trying to help you. I will not go back or recommend Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers strictly because of this«Manager». On a side… the female employee with the long curly hair who gave me the item that the«Manager» forgot was very friendly and helpful… very pleasant… she should be the manager. Get a better Manager Freddy’s!

I do not care for the thin French Fries. Whatever a steak burger is, is NOT a burger. A steakburger is a 1/8″ thin patty fried to a crisp, not necessarily bad, but is about ¼ of what a burger patty is supposed to be. In summary, a disappointment.

Whenever I need to kill time before a Moviehouse movie showing, I’ll sometimes stop in here and get a hot dog or some onion rings. Everyone’s pretty familiar with Freddy’s — they’ve got pretty good custard(though I’m not much of a dessert fan), really flat/thin burgers, shoestring fries, and lots of different burger and sandwich combos. Though I’m not a big fast food fan, I don’t mind Freddy’s — I like the old-school atmosphere they’re trying to provide, and they’re a bit better than most other fast food places. My man swears by their custard, so remember to at least order a small sundae when you’re here!

Always my choice for hot dogs. Quality ingredients, and perfectly made. Have taken all my friends here and they love it!

I was dubious of the hamburgers in a joint that takes something called custard so seriously but my friend was driving, we were hungry, and there it was. So I ordered a chocolate malt. But not so fast. I was informed that they«had just sold their last malt of the day.» Like they have a quota or the«malt vault» had been pillaged. Ok, no problem. «I’ll have a chocolate shake, no whipped topping.» [Rings up order with shake with whip topping.] Asked for a double cheeseburger, onion rings, and large fries. I do this every time at a new place because the chances of them having both great fries and great onion rings are low. [Does not ring up onion rings.] Asked for the order to go. [Rings up as dine in.] Checked every item in the order when it was ready. It wasn’t actually ready as there were no onion rings. The guy drops the onion rings in the hot oil. I keep waiting for them to ask why I have my cheeseburger in my hand. This isn’t a riddle: it was missing the tomato. Onion rings finally ready but now fries are cold and have the consistency and durability of Twizzers. Ask for tomato when the guy makes his way to me. They are out of tomato. By this point I’ve seen enough and depart with no intention to ever return. For the truly curious, the fries did not taste like Twizzlers, they only chewed that way. The fries actually tasted like salt. Salt was the overwhelming flavor. Shake was melted by the time I gave up on the missing tomato but two hours in the freezer and it made decent ice cream. Burger was dry but flavorful. I imagine it’s like what NASA feeds astronauts. Onion rings won the night and I wish I’d ordered five servings. Crispy outside, sweet on the inside. Not worth a drive just for onion rings.

Pretty decent fast-food burgers. I got the veggie burger combo and found the veggie patty to be better than average Only downside to my burger was they loaded it up with way too many onions. Nothing I couldn’t easily take off. My kids got the kid’s cheeseburger combos, and the burgers were much larger than what you’d normally see on a kid’s meal, so good value. I’d probably go back here, if I was in the area.

My second time going to this location. First time was alright. The second time was so horrid. I usually go to the Freddys in NB all the time but moved up to Austin and this place is fairly close to my apartment. Freddy’s WAS one of my favorite fast food places. WAS. I got the combo that comes with burger and hot dog. Hot dog was so cold and inedible. Burger was that most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten. The bun was disgustingly dry and the patty was dry and only covered half the bun. Like they gave me only half the patty. I spent a lot of money, which all gone to waste because as soon as I took a bit of each item I threw them away, and went to some Greek place down the street. Seriously disappointed.

I don’t usually end up with five stars at the end of a visit but I was pleasantly surprised at the service, cleanliness and atmosphere of this particular Freddy’s! So here’s the scoop: It’s located across the street from Concordia University in a nicely kept plaza. The inside is kept very clean and the employees give off this vibe that makes you very comfortable. They’re not overly polite, but they are courteous and take your orders with speed and accuracy. The food was well prepared and everyone enjoyed their meals. We got two orders of the patty melt, two orders of the Chicago style hot dog(all beef) and one order of chicken tenders. Everything was good! The seasoning on the little skinny fries are the . After eating, we enjoyed some cake balls from Angel(across the street) & a funnel cake sundae. The atmosphere was so nice, we stayed there to eat the cake balls. Would definitely go back. Might even purchase their seasoning next time.

Friday’s steak burgers are just wonderful, and their french fries rock. The employees there make you feel like family. The employees there have a great customer service skills. The place is always clean you can everyone there truly loves begin there. I have never been disappointed in anything that I have ordered. I go there very often and I would recommend Freddy’s to everyone, If you have not been there, I think everyone should try it. The next time I go Freddy’s I am going to try Freddy’s custard Freddy’s has so many delicious sounding custard. I really enjoy myself when I am there.

Good burger. Friendly employees every time I have visited. I haven’t tried the custard yet but will someday. Their french fries are pretty good. Good atmosphere. Their dining room was really clean during my visit. Fresh pickles on the burgers, cut the correct way. Ol’ Freddy, you have done it again.

This place puts smash burger to shame as far as how flat they smash their burgers. Just imagine bread, all the fixin’s and a flat sheet of beef. Skinny fries that barely have flavor. They do serve sweet tea at least. Not bad but just not worth the price.
