Donise Hardy, CSA – A Casting Place

I attended Donise Hardy’s commercial audition class last Saturday, and it was worth every penny and then some!!! Her class starts with her sharing a wealth of information about the business, from her insider’s perspective. Then you get straight to work! Donise wastes no time! Her critiques and feedback are extremely helpful as is seeing yourself on camera. By then end of the day, the mystery and fear in auditioning are gone and it has been replaced with a sense of confidence and fun. I have taken many acting classes (good and bad), and until now, I never knew you could learn so much in one day. I would recommend this class to anyone!

I believe this is a must-​take course! Donise goes over what may be just about everything regarding commercial auditions. Some audition classes I’ve taken cover cold readings, Donise helps you with the whole process — explaining how you could get selected to audition, how to prepare with the script, how to put yourself together, what to say and do in the audition room (and you practice so you know what’s right), and so much more. This class is for new folks and active auditioners. Don’t wait so long to take this class like I did.

Highly recommend Donise, what a character! She knows her stuff and guides the class through live on camera auditions, some solo and others with class mates. They are then critiqued in helpful and encouraging ways. Donise brings humor, integrity and top notch ethics as she instructs and directs this class. She has been in the biz for a long time and on both sides of the camera. This workshop is a must for those seeking to improve their auditioning skills and for those wanting to book commercial auditions. Great practical advice in seeking representation and also the how to’s of killer headshots and resume’s.

My 13-​year-​old daughter took her second class from Donise Hardy. She loved it and wants to take more classes. It was fun to watch her do this class along side experience actors. The environment was great and very supportive. I recommend and want to take some of her classes myself.

It is worth every penny and every minute spent. The workshop provides an overview of the industry, the importance of professional head shots and appropriate resumes, how to find and keep an agent, marketing hints, capitalizing on networking opportunities, and even some insider tips.
You will also have several opportunities to practice on-​camera auditioning (using scripts that Donise will provide for you) in various types of scenarios. Each commercial is recorded, played back, and critiqued on an individual basis. Each and every one of the workshop members that participated with me saw excellent improvement between the morning and afternoon hours.
With that being said, quit hesitating and sign up for the next class. You won’t regret it.

I took Donise’s Basic Commercial Auditions workshop this weekend. As a newcomer to the world of acting in front of the camera, I knew I had a lot to learn. I still have a lot to learn, but I sure learned a lot in one day.

Donise is an amazing talent! My daughter has taken several of Donise’s courses and came back with a wealth of knowledge. As a result of Donise’s guidance, she booked a role on a major television show and a casting director raved about her skills during an audition. More than that, Donise cares about her students, supporting my daughter long after class ends. She is so giving, never hesitating to provide her thoughts or guidance when asked. We are extremely fortunate to have met Donise.

Donise is a fabulous teacher. Recently took her auditioning class for commercials. Great tips and constructive feedback in a positive nature, and lots of fun too. If you’ve ever wanted to take an acting class, but like 1 day workshop before committing to 6 weeks, this is a great first step to see if you like it. Donise is great!

Donise is a wealth of information about the acting industry. If you miss an opportunity to take one of her classes (I just took TV Commercial Auditioning), you’re doing yourself a great disservice. Fast track your understanding of the industry by learning all you can from this hilarious, approachable, warm, honest woman who has so much to give and tell. Donise is incredible! I can not imagine a better class to take than from her! whether you’re an experienced actor looking to refine your skills; or you’re new to the business and looking to gain some knowledge on how it all works: Donise expertise is invaluable! Since taking her class a few months ago I have booked a supporting role in a tv pilot, and two short film roles here in Austin! I know for a fact that if it weren’t for Donise training, my chances of landing any roles whatsoever would be extremely low! She will tell you like it is, which I love, but she’s also very sweet and an excellent coach. In the end, you’ll walk away with more knowledge of the industry, a much better slate, and the skills required to go out there and book some jobs! I HIGHLY recommend Donise’ class to anyone!

I have taken Donise’s classes and gave sent many of my theatre students, friends, and family to learn the commercial audition techniques. Not only does she go over all the necessary techniques, she teaches the vocabulary of «the business» as well as «tricks of the trade.» All this combined makes, and in only one day, you ready and professionally prepared for your audition and future bookings in this highly competitive industry. Donise is straight forward, no BS type of person and tells it like it is. No sugar coating. My auditions improved a tremendous amount and I was called back more often and booked more commercials after taking her classes. My daughter (12) who has an interest in theatre, went to Donise’s teen class. She learned a great deal and used some of the techniques when she auditioned for her school play and was cast. If you want to learn the commercial audition techniques that also transfers to film, video, industrial and theatre auditions, this is the one class you absolutely MUST take.

I completed Donise’s One day Commerical Audition class and definitely got my money’s worth. The time just flew, as Donise is very organized and maximizes every available minute. The class was paced very well, interspersing experiential work (filmed mock auditions so she could critique our work on camera) with handouts and tools of the trade info that could make the difference between landing a commercial and not.
By days end, everyone had greatly improved and the difference was visible. The class was also fun. Highly recommended for anyone serious about pursuing this line of work.
