Specialties
At D&R we live on delicious creativity. We want to delight your palette by continually bringing you innovative sandwich rolls. The ‘Maine Event’ has become our signature item. It is a traditional Maine lobster roll with claw, knuckle and leg meat lightly dressed in our secret house mayo, topped lightly with drawn butter and chive. Other variations include both traditional New England preparations like Connecticut (served warm without mayo), Rhode Island (lettuce/tomato), and Long Island (celery/onion), and also completely new lobster roll creations altogether like the Real B.L.T (chicken fried bacon, lobster, and tomato), which has become a big hit since its debut. Other than lobster rolls we offer worldly inspired rolls and sides that were conceived through our mission of continuing to mix flavorful and familiar foods in new and exciting combinations. We strongly encourage customer creations, so please be daring and try anything we have with anything else we have!
History
Established in 2011.
Established in 2011 Our business started in May 2011 with the conceptualization of our menu revolving around the Maine Event (Our Lobster Roll); from there we started recipe creations for the remainder of the menu, and the outfitting of our 1957 Airstream. The culmination of our work came to fruition on August 30th, 2011 with our first day of business. Since then we have been docking and rolling daily Tuesday thru Sunday serving delicious creations to our lovely patrons. In early 2013, we have had the pleasure of outfitting a 1947 Westcraft Montecito, and have docked it and re opened Oct 1st, 2013 as our 2nd location in the new MIdway Food Park in Westlake off Loop 360 next to Tres Amigos! Come visit us soon, and see what some locals have been talking about, and others have fallen in love with!
Meet the Business Owner
Lee K.
Business Owner
I am the chef/owner of Dock & Roll Diner, I grew up in Austin, graduated Westlake High School, went to culinary school in New York City after attending the University of California — Santa Barbara. I moved back home after working in kitchens in New York and San Francisco to embark upon my dream of being in business for myself. As of August 2011, the Dock & Roll Diner is the culmination of that with the help of a couple amazing friends, Daniel Dennis, and Adam Lewis, who round out the D&R team. Thanks for your support, and we hope to see you soon at the Dock!
