Meet the Manager

Melissa U.

Manager

Melissa N. Unfred, is a dual-​licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, residing in Austin. Her entry into funeral service began when she was 17 years old. She recently earned her CFSP designation from APFSP, and is the only listed CFSP in the Austin area. She is a current member of TFDA and SCTFDA, and is excited to be serving on two boards for 2015, the Ethics Committee and the Programs & Education Committee. She accepted her first funeral position at a funeral home in Lubbock, where she experienced first hand the inner workings of the funeral service industry. Under the guidance of one of the few female owned, family funeral homes in Texas at the time, she witnessed first hand a level of compassion of strength that would lead her to pursue Mortuary Science as a career. Melissa is honored to be a part of the team that is Distinctive Life Cremations & Funerals, and operates their newest location in Austin, in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
