History

Established in 1974.

The practice was initially established by Dr. Richard Ross in 1974. It was transitioned to Dr. Darryl Baucum in 2008.

In 2008, Dr. Baucum met Dr. Richard Ross, a general dentist in Austin for over 30 years, who independently managed his own private practice. They agreed upon the transition of the practice to Dr. Baucum, and he moved back to Austin with his family to take over the practice in October 2008. Dr. Ross retired from the practice of dentistry in 2009 and has since moved to North Carolina to retire with family, though he still keeps in regular contact with the staff, patients and friends he developed over a 30 year period of managing the practice.

Dr. Baucum is a 2007 graduate of The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. He was awarded admission to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society upon graduation for his excellence throughout the dental program, and then began advanced education in periodontal and implant therapy at The University of Texas Dental Branch.

Dr. Baucum is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and Capital Area Dental Society. He is also a member of the local Seattle Study Club, which meets regularly throughout the year to review new and updated techniques covering all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Baucum is also a current participant in the Kois Continuum program based in Seattle, WA. The Kois Center in Seattle is dedicated to excellence in dentistry through scientific study and advancement.
