An East Austin that I’ve been coming to ever since I was little kid. Always consistent and never been disappointed. Seriously, one of the best burger joints in Austin. Hopefully one local spot that will never move.

I love this place so much, it never changes up and still has those old fashion Hamburgers… Never disappointed when I come here. I lifetime customer

We stumbled upon this gem of a breakfast spot unintentionally. The line was to the door but we were seated in 10 minutes. Service was prompt and accurate. Coffee was fantastic. Pancakes were tasty. Tip: Skip the bacon. Get the sausage patties instead.

One of the best burgers I have had in the south, anywhere from Florida to Southern California. Medium cheese burger and small fry was only $ 5.55. Filled me up! Definitely a burger joint to try out. Plain and simple.

I love that this place has a diner feel with providing yummy food at affordable prices. They also have a great breakfast menu, complete with things like pancakes, biscuit and gravy, etc! The parking lot can be a bit of a challenge, but the food is worth the wait!

Was in the mood for a good old fashion burger but I didn’t want to ruin my girlish figure so I ordered a small cheeseburger aka«a baby» with mayo, small curly fries, and a small coke. Genius! All the flavor without all the guilt! So bad but oh so Good ;D (4 stars because it’s not all from scratch:)

Great burger. Poor service. Charged me for a drink when I didn’t order one. Lost my burger order. Finally given my order with a small fry instead of large.

This place is awesome the hickory burger was so good. The shakes were thick and rich and the curly fries were the best. Would definitely recommend.

Great food. Terrible service. I’ve been to the other locations here in Austin. Used to frequent the one on 71/Ben White when I lived in that neighborhood before the remodel. I stopped in at this location because I was passing by and happened to be hungry and recognized the motif. The girl at the counter was too busy joking around with her coworker to acknowledge my presence at first. When she finally did ask what I wanted the phone started ringing so she interrupted to answer it. She rushed through the order then got back to joking with her friend. When I went to the counter to receive my order she had made a mistake. Rather than trying to correct the mistake this other worker looks at me like I’m an asshole and remarks that the other item isn’t on the receipt so I must not have ordered it. Fortunately another person stepped in before I had the chance to ask for a refund and walk out. Needless to say I’ll just go out of my way to visit the other two locations if the urge should strike me. This one is officially crossed off the list.

I look for local places when traveling and lucked into finding Dans near the airport — sometimes that happens when you miss a GPS turn! Couldn’t resist the old joint look and all the cars at lunch time — knew the locals were here. Very simple menu with hamburgers any way and any size you want. Prices are modest — 7.90 for medium cheeseburger with bacon, Dr Pepper and small fries. Good was delicious — the burger had that home cooked taste — wonderful flavor. I will be back… someday.

I just love this place. The food is ALWAYS good, I get the same thing every time and it’s amazing every time. Customer service is on point always. Today I got the pleasure of Antoinette taking my order, and she was just so friendly and nice ! She was taking orders, cleaning tables, and making sure everyone was being helped. I was having a bad day, and she honestly was the first positive vibe I had seen all day! This place is my guilty pleasure. I will never go to In&Out ever again ! These burgers are delicious ! One of my husbands favorite spots as well.

I’m a huge mark for homestyle burgers and this one hit the spot. It was hot, fresh and just like I ordered it. I love my buns buttered and toasted and they did a very good job at doing just that. My only complaint is that they are very skimpy with the portions of mayo. But I got over that. I’ve been to other Dan’s locations and this one seems like this location was the busiest that I’ve ever visited. I will be going here again.

Good. Not great, but really good. Good burgers, not great. Good service, not great. Good fries, not great. Good onion rings, not great. You know. Really good all around. Not great.

I was so excited to visit this joint because it is after all, an ATX institution for it’s burgers although, I’m not quite sure why. The burgers are OK and the staff is rude as shit. They gave us the wrong order number & then got pissed at us for letting our food sit in the window for a few minutes. Excuse the shit out of us for listening for number 94(which was on our ticket) when our number was apparently 9. The Hickory Burger had a baby squirt of hickory sauce and NO bacon at all. For fear that our food might be f*cked with if we sent it back, we just sucked it up. They already hated us for their mistake the 1st time, we weren’t about to point out a mistake for the second time. You know what they say…“never f*ck with the people who handle your food” we won’t be back. And if you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and drive down to San Antonio for Texas’ best burger at Chris Madrid’s!

Its dirty and greasy food which is my kinda joint fo sho. I like getting three burgers with extra mayo to dunk the burger in. Then the fries get a large basket awesome stuff. Not too sure about the other items there

I walked in and they dropped to their knees. Instead of a burger, I accepted a first born son as a sacrifice and feasted on his heart to gain his strength. Then I slumped down on a throne they constructed for me, made of the bones of others named Dan who were found wanting. I grunted in satisfaction and the wenches feinted in ecstasy, while the grill men thumped their chests and bellowed like apes in tribute. It was pretty good. Would recommend

If I could be serious for a moment… I remember being a boy and my parents bringing me to this location and getting me the hand battered onion rings with a burger and being blown away! The feelings still the same to this day! I mentioned earlier in a review this year the importance of a black women calling me «Sugar» well it always happens here! I’ve never had a bad experience with the staff here. Some mornings you just want a good old fashioned breakfast with out spending an arm and a leg so I always rely on Dans. Come to think of it I don’t know what I like more here the breakfast or the burgers. So I’m leaving work this morning and since its New Year’s Eve I’m tell my self’ «there’s no traffic this morning», I need to take advantage of this so I bust a u turn on 183 and head back towards Airport Blvd and pull into this place. Funny story my good friend Bradley’s mom and dad met here. I always tell people they consumed him while making love on the grill one night after their shift hehe… Ok ok you people wanna know what I got. I went with the usual two breakfast tacos, a bacon egg potato and cheese, and a sausage egg potato and cheese. I didn’t stop there bubba, I also got a half order of biscuits and gravy which is oh my god some of the best biscuits and gravy ever! They add chunks of sausage into the gravy which is to die for! I’ll up load a pic with this review but I got all that and a soda for eight bucks and some change! Mind you I always tip here so I spend usually around ten to eleven bucks per visit which is not bad if you ask me. Bottom line Dans is right up there with WhatABurger for me in things I missed about Austin. I highly recommend this place, great service, great food, reasonable prices. P. Terry’s too clean for you? Give Dan’s a try! In all seriousness, Dan’s Hamburgers is your local old-timey diner that probably hasn’t changed much since the 70s. Service is quickly and friendly, and there’s a lot more on the menu for people who are feeling breakfast(or Southern dinner options like chicken fried steak). There’s not that many ways to customize your burger here, but their recipe for success is already pretty good. Hamburgers come with the usual works(lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onion, and mustard) and the patties are fairly generous and greasy. While it’s certainly not very healthy, the burgers do come in three sizes to make it easier for hungry diners to find their eating«happy point». Fries are fresh and tasty(especially the curly fries), but the portions sizes are too much for me. Those who are not fiends for fries should find a friend to share with.

I was going to get the 4 oz regular cheese burger but I went low carb instead. I ordered a small double cheese burger. It has a total of 5 oz of beef instead of 4 and it sits on a smaller bun. Also 2, 2.5oz patties have more external surface area to be seared than a single 4 oz pattie. Resulting in a better tasting burger.
