Terrific all vegetarian buffe, as you can tell by all the other reviews! Once you try it, you’ll be a frequent customer… we are!

Unless you are a spice wimp, try the delicious, flavorful food of this wonderful strip mall Indian restaurant. It is fresh, intense, fantastic food — someone in their kitchen has a truly gifted palate and loves to make vivid food. Don’t be put off by the lackluster looks of the William Cannon strip mall location, this place is a treasure. It is vegetarian, but even if you are a meat eater you will be satisfied because of the variety of dishes and their depth of flavor. This is hands down easily the best Indian restaurant in Austin, and I think it might be my favorite in North America. I have never been to India(bucket list!), but ever since I’ve lived in England and had such great Indian food there(like in Brick Lane, London, and in West England Balti houses) I have been searching the US and Vancouver, BC for anything on a par with some of those. The Curry Leaf Café is pretty up there.

The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is great and this is one of the few Indian restaurants that does a dinner buffet.

We had chaat at Curry Leaf. The chaat menu is only until 8 pm. The pav bhaji, bhel puri, sev puri were all good. None of the dishes were made overly spicy; everything was spiced in moderation yet was flavorful. Paani puri was also good but no tamarind chutney was served with it. The waiter who took our order first brought us something other than what we had ordered. After a while she proceeded to do that one more time, but came and apologized to us because they were out of an item she was going to bring us — but we had never ordered it. :) Anyhow, the food was decent. Since this is one of the few chaat places south of the river, we’ll be back.

Quality deteriorating with every visit. They have buffet both for lunch and dinner and guess what they serve the same food for both! Hardly anything is fresh. Hospitality also lacking in many accounts. If you are not very familiar with Indian food and find this place good, that’s just because you haven’t visited better restaurants.

Dal makhani went bad today. I notified the staff and they didn’t even acknowledge it. Other items weren’t great. Will never go back to this place!

Curry Leaf Café is simply amazing, vegetarian or not. Their prices can’t be beat, their wait-staff is friendly and professional, and their food is delicious! Get the Gobi Manchurian; you won’t stop eating.

This place is great! It’s really nice to find an all-vegetarian buffet, since most of the time buffets are basically off-limits when I go out with my vegetarian friends. They have a variety of entrees and a choice between fresh garlic or plain naan. When you factor in the very reasonable price(8.99/weekdays, 9.99/weekends) and the fairly late hours(open until 10pm) I think Curry Leaf is one of the best deals in Indian food around. They also just opened up a Chaat House that is open until 8pm, haven’t tried it but will probably hit it up sometime.

The food is fresh and authentic. The buffets are worth the money with more than 6 different beautiful curries. One of my favourite.

$ 9.95 for a dinner buffet, good service and food. Pleasantly surprised! It’s all vegetarian so relative choices as well with both South Indian and North Indian food. Closest restaurant from Barsana Dham, so if coming from there a good option possibly.

Great food! The buffet was great! The bill for 2 was very inexpensive for such a great variety of food. The flavors were amazing. I honestly haven’t ever had Indian food this good. Love the ambience of the restaurant. Definitely coming back!

Nice vegetarian Indian food. I have seen this restaurant’s food quality go down for a month but they have really improved and made a come back. Worth your money. I reduced one star because their servers were loud talking to each other. They need to keep it down while customers are eating.

Very good, friendly service but could be a bit faster. Good variety in curries that you don’t find in every other Indian buffet. Fresh naan to table instead of getting dry at the buffet. A weird thing is trying to figure out where the lids of the buffet dishes go because there isn’t always room on the bar but that doesn’t really detract from the experience or anything.

Great food. Great people. I am surprised this one is so lowly rated. No bloating soda in food prep unlike some other places that serve buffet. I would visit again and hope they keep up the quality. Ambiance is good too. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah now to fill up the Unilocal space as they don’t let post precise concise reviews. Unilocal?Listening?

Went for lunch buffet today. Was keeping my fingers crossed because of experience with other pure veg restaurant in Austin. Food is good cannot say excellent but decent taste. Good variety of dishes. Only thing I missed was yogurt. I think they should add that to the menu. After eating spicy and masala food, yogurt would have been little cooling. Desert especially jalebi was nice and crispy. Not a convenient location for people in north Austin but I will go there again. For now I can say — so far so good.

Food and service were decent. They only offer a buffet — idlis, sambar, bondas; naan, paneer butter masala, bhindi masala. All standard items. The curries were all good. Idli was a bit dry and hard — it’s almost impossible to find good idlis that’s not made by an Amma or a patti. The dishes I liked the best were mango daal and karela fry — unique and very tasty! Desserts were good too but I was stuffed. My only grouse is they have only two high chairs. Newsflash: Indians take their kids EVERYWHERE! All ages even where they shouldn’t(like movie theaters). You have to have at least 5 – 7 high chairs. get the ikea ones — cheap and good quality! It really impacts the quality of time a family with a small child will have in your restaurant. Make it easy for them!

Amazing food! The curries were on point, the service was great, and although we were so full, it was hard to not have one more bite. The inside is really clean and set up nice. A almost casual but still nice restaurant feel. The gobi was so good, and we couldn’t get enough of the paneer tikka masala. Can not wait until the full menu. We will be here many more times.

Customer service: very bad. The attitude was as if we came there to eat for free. Since it’s the initial days, the restaurant was a bit crowded but the hostess behaved as if she was carrying a mountain on her shoulders. She was rude in her response and made the experience quite unpleasant. When we asked her to be seated in a certain table, she literally snapped at us. I understand the stress but venting it on customers is unacceptable. Food: 3.5 North Indian curries were good. Desert selection wasn’t bad. The quality of Idly and sambhar needs to improve. I wouldn’t visit the place again. The taste is definitely not worth the bad customer service.
