At CLC, you WILL learn to speak a foreign language by having:

*Trained, native-​speaking instructors with experience teaching foreign languages.

*Only 3 – 6 students per group class.

*Classes taught to you mostly in the language you are trying to learn.

*A fun, informal, relaxed atmosphere.

History

Established in 1993.

We’ve been in Austin, TX teaching the Spanish language, and more importantly promoting the traditions, ways of thinking, history, music, folklore of the Spanish-​speaking countries.

Meet the Business Owner

Maria A.

Business Owner

Teacher Maria Acosta Deckert was born and raised in Mexico, City. As a child she was never exposed to other languages but as a teenager she sang along the Beatles who, she claims, were her first English teachers.

Later on, still inspired by the Beatles, she lived in London for 4 years and learned English as a result.

Back in Mexico she started to teach English to adults in numerous schools, and later got a certificate as a Teacher of English as a second Language from UNAM (Nat. Aut. Univ. of Mex.)

She came to the USA after marrying her American husband, and founded CLC in Austin in 1993.

She’s passionate about foreign languages, words, writing, reading, traveling, gardening, knitting, crochet, mosaics, music, recycling, living healthy, simplifying life and trying to be a good human being.
