Cookie Lounge is a dessert destination that specializes in the custom cookie.

Call to order cookies made in your style using our 30+ mix ins and 8 doughs to create over 40,000 variety of cookies. Have them delivered, be ready for pick up, or to enjoy in the store while you’re hanging out with friends or family, or just on your computer utilizing our free wi-fi.

On the weekends, we have Little Baker’s Workshops for children to learn how to mix dough, ice cupcakes and cookies or learn the ins and outs of the ingredients used to make cookie dough. Our workshops always end with a game or art project and our staff make sure every child has an awesome time.

History

Established in 2008.

Cookie Lounge was started as an idea with Artie Rogers. While on a work trip at a hotel, he realized that he wanted a really tasty cookie, he wanted it like he liked it, he wanted it hot out of the oven, but he didn’t want to make it himself or go get it. He wanted it delivered to him.

After discussing this idea with several friends, he coerced them into starting a business, though none had ever started a business before. The idea was to take an idea and just keep it going, obsessing about it every day to try and make it ever better. The goal is an awesome hang out place for enjoying some exceptionally tasty sweets.

After almost two years, a place was found in Austin that would work (finally!) and the space was built out. People were found who were very into turning out awesome cookies every time, and we opened.

Its been quite a ride so far and we love hearing from people who have gone to the store so we can make the store even better.

Liked this place a lot. I probably only gave it 4 stars becuase I am not much of a dessert fan, but I really like this concept. My roommae and i took her 8yr old neice her as a birthday surprise and she loved it. We all has monster cookies… the monster cookie is more than someone should probably eat in one sitting and left me feeling a bit sick afterwards. I had the dottie’s oatmeal dough with white chocolate, sugared ginger and pistachios… it was very yummy. I tried some of my roommates who had the vegan dark chocolate douhg with snickers… also very delish. The kid was well, a kid and got dark cho dough with marshmallows, oreos and peanut butter cups.
I liked the atmosphere and the couchs with the games to play while waiting for your cookie

What a long overdue concept! I’m a cookie whore and I’ve been known to sneak into this place in between classes. I love the techno-loungey feel of the place. Oh yeah, and the cookies are amazing!
My personal favorite is the oatmeal and dark chocolate cookie with extra chantilly cream.

It’s a cookie bar. How freaking fabulous is that?
This place is absolutely adorable. Be prepared to have lots of little kids running around and The Never Ending Story playing on the TV, while savoring the delicious aroma of those fresh baked cookies. They bring out your cream in a little cow dispenser that pours cream out of its mouth when you tip it over. This place exudes cuteness.
At first, this place is overwhelming. You can pick from about 8 different types of cookie doughs and over twenty mix-ins (including several different types of dark chocolate). They’ve got several pre-made cookies and about half a dozen cookie combos with a cookie combo of the day that you can choose from. Being as indecisive as I am, I went into mini-panic mode walking by the mix-in display, but I couldn’t stop smiling because this place is SO CUTE.
Bare in mind that this place is PRICEY. 2 large cookies and 2 milk shakes cost $ 14! But then again, how often can you get lime macaroon cookie dough with coconut or brown sugar cookie dough with macadamia nuts and cinnamon chips? The other downside is that yes, you have to wait for you cookie to bake and cool, and they tell you upfront that the cookie will take 15 – 20 minutes to be ready, but if you’re looking for something novel and you’ve got plenty of time (and cash) to blow, this place is really fun. You can even customize your milk or milk shake with about 20 different flavors. I went with the toasted marshmallow flavoring with was very very yum. Next time, I’d ask them for a little extra syrup though, because the flavor could have been kicked up in both my milk shake and my dining partner’s blueberry milkshake.
Summary: CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE. Did I mention cute? Cute here, however, comes with a hefty price tag and time committment. Pre-order your shakes and cookies via phone or on-line and close your eyes when they ring up your credit card at pick-up.

A bunch of us went last night and were not too impressed. The place is extremely sterile and uncomfortable. I think it’s supposed to have a Tokyo-esque feel? Couldn’t exactly tell.
I got a cookie and a cup of raspberry flavored milk and it was 6 dollars! WTF? Don’t get me wrong, both were very good. But for what you get? Definitely overpriced. It also took 16 minutes for me to even receive my cookie — I think one of their ovens was broken?
Overall, it’s an amazing concept and something everyone should try once. But I highly highly doubt I will be going back anytime soon. The place has no charm and is too expensive.

I think it’s the novelty of this place that attracts a lot of people. I tried it and wasn’t too impressed. You end up paying about $ 8 for a cup of milk and one friggin’ cookie. Please. Granted it’s baked fresh and to your order, but so are cookies from Tiff’s Treats. And deciding between a Macadamia nut or chocolate chip is no biggie. Kids might enjoy this place but will more than likely get bored just waiting for the cookie to bake. Perhaps that’s why they stock the coffee tables with board games.
The staff was pretty basic, a bit monotonous, actually. And the décor was lacking as well.

For my birthdays growing up, almost every year, I got a cookie cake.
I loooove cookies, especially chocolate chip cookies. I make them at home pretty regularly, and do a darn good job of it, no matter the variety (I once made good persimmon cookies, seriously).
If I can do it well, you know it has to be easy.
This year, I didn’t get a cookie cake and didn’t have ingredients at home to make my own birthday cookie. So a friend and I tried Cookie Lounge.
And … Cookie Lounge gets three stars. They do an easy thing well, but not great. I just don’t see this being anything more than a special occasion place for anybody.
Seventy-five cents per additional ingredient? Not exactly bargain cookies.
And while I liked that they came out gooey, I imagine that if you were getting them to go, that just wouldn’t work well. The ingredient choices are nice, and I liked what I picked (dark chocolate dough with dark chocolate chunks and macadamia nuts).
But the girl behind the counter, who was new, was friendly but unhelpful — I imagine it’d be hard to come in there clueless and expect assistance. It seemed overstaffed (half the time we were there, we were outnumbered by employees).
The space is kind of neat, but sterile at the same time. I was pretty glad that we got coffees to go with our cookies (and the coffee was good), because that wait in that space just doesn’t lend itself to much more than thumb-twiddling (or, in our case, a long conversation about how this business model will never work).
If the place is around by my next birthday, I’ll be stunned. And I just might be ready for another cookie!

Hard to beat fresh out of the oven cookies taste-wise…I think even a lame concoction is going to taste pretty good. However, I was aghast at my tab (over $ 21 for 4 large & 1 reg cookie + 3 beverages). Part of the problem is if you’re a first-timer, they’ll point out that you pick your dough and then pick out your 3 mixins. Well, honey, those are the premium cookies… if you want to save some dough (d’oh!), you’ll have to go for a low-mixin-count cookie and who wants to downgrade mixins when you start out expecting three of ‘em? Take my advice and check out the menu online before you go. Make your decisions so you can take advantage of the combos and don’t get suckered into a horrendous cookie bill.
Waiting for them is sorta sucky too, so bring something to entertain yourself and this could not be more important with regard to the kiddos.
Staff is super friendly. To the point of appearing somewhat desperate.
Also, if you park in the garage, ask your staff member to be mindful of the electronic tape on your parking stub when they’re validating it. Butter from the cookie dough got on ours and it wouldn’t work. You do not want to spend $ 10 on parking after shelling out $ 21 on less than half a dozen cookies just because of a little schmutz on your stub.
I want to like the Lounge, and it was cute for a one-time adventure, but it’s probably not going to make my regular playlist. I think for a fraction of the money, I’d rather go to Hey Cupcake for a family treat… or to my neighborhood Randall’s for three bucks’ worth of dough in a tube. If I’m gonna wait 20 min for a cookie, I might as well make it myself.

Wouldn’t come back. It is kind of a big process (over 10 minutes) for just 1 cookie, which ends up costing quite a lot. Maybe it would be worth it if you wanted a really crazy cookie, but I am into classics.
Maybe I just bake too much so the thrill of the warm cookie is lost on me.
But seems more like a fad than anything.

Yummy! I got the oatmeal cookie w/walnuts.
The concept is a little strange… because I always think of going to bakeries and getting things pretty quickly. But the idea here is to sit down, chat with your friends, and wait approximately 15 – 20 min before your cookie gets out. It’s kinda nice. This also means that the cookie comes out of the oven warm and gooey which is AWESOME!
There are a lot of fixings that go with the cookies too. So you can get any kind of cookie you would like.
Note: the cookies are the size that they have on the board.

I was with a group of people that wanted to try out the place. There was 10 of us and we took over one corner of the place. I was not impressed with the cookies. I thought it was way overpriced for just one cookie and the coffee was bland. One girl behind the counter brought my coffee and half and half to where I was sitting. One hour later she bought the group I was with, free samples of the muffins and brownies they had.
The Cookie Lounge is weird because it is the type of place where yuppies would go. I don’t know if I would go back in the near future.
They do validate for parking.

Ok, so I had heard about The Cookie Lounge when they first started advertising on Unilocal.I HAD to go. I took my closest gal pals, hit up a spa, then hit up cookies (spa days go best with cookies… its science).
We walk in and it has a very cool vibe. Lounge-y, cool couches, cool set up of add-ins, cool lighting. I am a huge fan of dark chocolate and they had 4 different types of dark chocolate! A+. They also gave out samples of the dark chocolate so that I could make an informed decision on what % I wanted. There were also choices of cookie dough, choices of size and choices of # of mix ins. We made our choices and about 15 minutes later, the cookies are done, man.
Sadly, the cookies were just so/so. Not bad, by any means, but the cookies didn’t knock my socks off. Would I recommend this place? Well… its not for me. Kids would probably love it here. I’ll stick to homemade or Toll House/Mrs Fields at Barton Creek.

I enjoyed the cookies from the Cookie Lounge. Extra yummy! I forgot her name, but I was greeted by one of the employees as soon as I walked through the door. She was already helping someone else but took a moment to ask me if I’d ever been there before. When I replied ‘no’ she asked me to give her a moment and she’d get me acquainted with how they work. As soon as she was done with her other customer, she ran off on how to get a cookie of my choice made. How cool! And as someone else mentioned, it’s like the «Marble Slab» of cookies. I know this isn’t a very new concept (only seeing it on shows that play on the Food Network or Travel Channel) but it was still sorta neat to ‘create a cookie’ right down to the dough and the size.
It was a little on the expensive side (6 seperate types of cookies ran about 18 bucks) but it was well worth it. The parking situation in the area is a bit hairy (especially with a bit of construction sprinkled here and there) and the CL itself actually faces 22^nd ½ Street as opposed to the BUILDING address of 22^nd… so don’t expect the CL to face 22^nd street! I caught a doozy on that one! There’s also free wifi, mags and a game or two to keep you occupied while you’re waiting.

I just recovered from a 4-day sugar high after having a few of Cookie Lounge’s ‘product.’ I’ve got to say at this point that I prefer Tiff’s over Cookie Lounge — lower prices and better cookies overall.
I can’t fault CL for it’s potential range of cookies (the peanut butter and snickers cookie was great) but the mix-in idea just doesn’t seem to work for me, at least. You have to wait a good 10 – 15 minutes for the cookies to bake, cook and then get boxed up. Not too good for a playa on the roll.
And the prices are kinda high ($ 13 for 4 cookies, a Reeses cup and a soft drink). 3 out of the 4 cookies were underbaked to the point of gloppiness — ended up mainly as large crumbs when I tried to pick them up. I’ll be back but hoping for a better experience next time.

What a great concept! Here are the steps you take:
1.) Choose your dough
2.) Choose your cookie size
3.) Choose up to three add ons for your cookie (ranging from dried fruits, to all sorts of nuts, to lots of different candies)
4.) Write all of this information on the order form and pass it along to the person waiting behind the counter.
Eight or so minutes later, you have a delicious, decadent, HOT cookie.
You can also choose to drizzle your cookie with syrups or get it a la mode. This is the kind of place that I felt compelled to order a cup of milk to go with the oh-so-tasty wild blueberry and white chocolate chip cookie. My partner ordered his cookie and it was accidentally made wrong. They graciously offered to make him another, the way he wanted it, and he got to keep the original cookie.
This place is pretty fabulous for a once in a while visit, as $ 11 for two cookies, a milk, and a Fresca is pretty wallet squeezing.

This is a great concept! I have some doubts about whether it’s a sustainable business idea, though, so go there soon. And spread the word to help them make it.
The downside is that it’s a little expensive, and it takes about 15 minutes from the time you reach the front of the line until you get your cookies. If you go in with these expectations, you will be pleased with the cookies. The lounge is a pleasant waiting spot, and it’s a nice area to go for a walk before you indulge.
It can be a little intimidating trying to sort through the list of options. Samples would be a nice addition. I plan to go back with a larger group and order a wide assortment next time.
The basic sweet dough chocolate chip cookie was nothing special. Some of the other doughs were top notch, however, particularly the oatmeal dough.
I went there twice over the weekend, and the service was excellent both times.

All right. I’m raising my previous review to three stars simply because the manager Stacey actually replied to my criticisms and corrected me on others.
New things to add:
1) the milk prices are going under review
2) the cookie dough IS actually chilled overnight
3) a real reply to a review says a lot about customer service – awesome
I wanted to make it back out there to try their cookies again and write another review but… honestly, I’m a poor college student and I don’t have enough money to be spending it on such luxuries too often.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I love the concept: it’s original and very cool. However, I think there are a few kinks that the Cookie Lounge needs to fix before I’ll ever visit them again.
First of all, there’s no clear «process» for ordering and paying for your cookie. They need to rip a page from Which Wich.
Next, they quoted our wait time as 15 minutes. Seriously? 15 minutes for a cookie? Shit, it better be the best damn cookie in the world!
Finally, the biggest issue, the actual cookie… I’ve had better. In fact, this was one of my least favorite cookies I’ve ever had in my life. It’s only trumped by a disgusting chocolate chip cookie I had in Barcelona that tasted like dry card board with colored in chocolate bits…
We ordered two cookies: a vanilla sweet cream cookie with belgian dark chocolate chips, and a creamy brown sugar cookie with pistachio, cranberry, and white chocolate chips. The first cookie was edible, albeit, not the best cookie ever, but acceptable.
The second cookie did not fare as well. The «creamy» brown sugar dough tasted bland. Creamy it was not, nor was it edible. I threw most of the cookie away.
Luckily, it came a la mode. Thank goodness for the teeny (and I mean teeny) scoop of Blue Bell ice cream… otherwise, this trip to campus would have been a total disappointment.

Ok, seriously? A COOKIE BAR?
I love this town. Places devoted entirely to cupcakes, cookies delivered straight to your door, and now a COOKIE BAR.
Before I stopped by I couldn’t quite figure out how they’d be able to make you a single, custom cookie without taking forever and charging a ton. Turns out that they have a couple of smaller, retro-styled, freestanding ovens. They mix up a glob of your chosen dough with your «mix-ins» (similar to the way Amy’s mixes up your ice cream) and pop it in the oven. I’d say it takes about 10 – 15 minutes to bake, depending on the size of your cookie. Then they add any sauces, whipped cream, or ice cream and you get to snarf your cookie hot out of the oven. YUM.
They have a wide variety of drinks. I had a Chocolate Milano milkshake which was pretty much NECTAR, THE DRINK OF THE GODS, but I imagine the other flavors are good too. There’s also juices and lots of milk (naturally). Soy milk, organic milk, hemp milk (?!?), and good old-fashioned milk. Bonus for environmentally-conscious people: my «plastic» drink cup was made out of CORN, so it’s biodegradable. Awesome.
The décor is colorful and cheery, with oversize couches to lounge on and crazy light sculptures. I think my only real complaint about this place is that it doesn’t look like the Korova Milk Bar.

I just love the concept, first off. For those that don’t know, my official title at my company is Cookie Monster. So Mylie was not surprised when I found this spot on opening day. They are obviously still working out the kinks and feverishly putting on the finishing touches, but I hope they get it all set up and succeed.
You choose from a bunch of different doughs and then throw in up to 3 of a large variety of ‘mixins’ from chocolate to junior mints to cranberries. I tried a couple of different doughs and some variations on the classic chocolate chip. Both cookies were good, the dough didn’t blow me away and I would have preferred more choices of chocolate (they only had chunks and in belgium dark and milk), but you just can’t beat a fresh baked cookie anywhere and before this little gem opened the only way to get fresh-baked was to fire up my oven.
So, I’m a fan. As with most customers I can think of 50 things to help them improve, but I guess I’ll stick to my business and let them enjoy theirs.
