Specialties

Capital Area Speech has provided speech and occupational therapy services to Austin families since 1988. Our services include evaluations and treatment related to: late talking, autism, stuttering, dyslexia, ADHD, difficulty learning to speak clearly, difficulty with language acquisition, developmental delay, difficulty learning to read, vocal dysfunction and hearing impairment.

We also provide parent/​teacher workshops and consultations and vision, speech and hearing screenings. If you have any questions regarding your child’s development, please call. We are always happy to visit with you and look forward to hearing from you!

The therapists and staff at capital area go above and beyond to best accommodate every family’s personal needs, goals and schedules! The occupational therapists here are committed to lifelong learning and are constantly seeking out new interventions related to OT practice. The patient is always their top priority and they will do what it takes for progress to be made. It is also really comforting to have therapists who take the time to educate parents and families in a manner in which they can understand. I highly recommend this fabulous group of fun, engaging, and goal-​oriented therapists!

My son has been coming to Capital Area Speech and Occupational Therapy for a few months. In that short time, Kelsi has been a terrific ally for my son as he builds new skills and develops confidence to try things. My son thinks the sessions are fun. Kelsi does an incredible job getting him to join in the activities.

I completed my internship at Capital Area Speech as a part of my masters program. It was an amazing learning experience. The speech and occupational therapists are outstanding. Each therapist takes to the time to stay updated on the most recent assessment and treatment research for their clients. The therapists also build excellent rapport with each client and family to make the therapy process a meaningful and collaborative experience. On top of the amazing interpersonal relationships, the speech therapy rooms, occupational therapy gym, and materials used at Capital Area Speech are impeccable. I would highly recommend this private practice!

My son has been coming to Capital Area Speech for about a year. In that time, his therapist, Holly, has helped him tremendously. He is now understood by strangers most of the time. Holly makes the sessions fun and is an expert in getting him to willingly participate (no easy task, I assure you). Kayla at the front desk is a real gem and keeps the business side running smoothly.

We have been coming for OT Therapy for a few months and can’t say enough about how awesome the therapist and the office staff are. They will go out of their way to help you on insurance, scheduling and anything you need. Office is bright and cheerful and comfy with a couch! We are more than satisfied with our service we are getting here.
