Agree with Rebecca H., this place was awesome! I am new to Austin and called around to several places to request help replacing my oxygen sensors. Very few places even knew how to fix this (my car is an old POS) and would not pass TX inspection without the fix. They helped me install everything at an extremely fair price. Service was prompt (they were able to squeeze in an appointment a day out) and the guys there were helpful and kind. I’ve needed similar work done before and been screwed with the wrong parts. I must say, I lucked out and will be going back for any future work!

Only $ 35 for an oil change and I was in and out of there in about 45 mins.

I had a laundry list of things to look at — from a cpl new questionable sounds, to problems that another place and a dealership told me I needed to get fixed. These guys had my car for a good chunk of the day!
Came by to pick it up, turns out I don’t need ANY of the things that were suggested. In fact there was nothing significantly wrong w my car at all!
I was told «we’re not going to sell you something you don’t need» and didn’t charge me for anything! Yall have my business. I’ll spread the good word.

I went in for a small quick fix for my car, and they were quick to help, friendly and did not charge me! I would definitely go there back again !!!

I’ve quickly become a fan of these guys after purchasing a 10 year old Saab 9−2X wagon (Subaru WRX with a Saab badge). I spent a bunch of money with a well known import tuning shop in town to have a bunch of maintenance items done at the same time as I was having my exhaust upgraded. Through this process I learned the hard way that real mechanic work should be left to real mechanics. I’ve had my car with the guys at Buddha’s a few times to help resolve issues that arose due to minor mistakes made by the other shop, and they have been patient and awesome to work with.

Simply put, this is the most efficient and honest garage I have ever taken my car to. The employees are trustworthy and knowledgeable, and they work incredibly fast. I took my car in for an oil change and they were done within 15 minutes. Meanwhile, I hung out in the office, enjoyed the free wifi, and had a nice conversation with one of the guys who works there. If you’re looking for the cure for the common auto repair shop — a trustworthy joint that doesn’t try to screw you at every turn — Buddha’s Garage is the answer. It’s is the car repair shop that every other car repair shop wishes they could be. Ten out of five stars.

Had a great experience from the get-​go. I scheduled an appointment and then when I showed up a week early (my bad!) Andrea was nice enough to take me in. I showed up at 8 am and my car was ready that day around 3:30 pm. Fixed my brakes and the «play» in steering wheel. No gimmiks! The price was much less than what I would have paid at a dealership and the service and work better by a long shot! Here’s your place!

I called and asked how much a diagnostic was for a wheel baring, I was told $ 50. When it was brought into the shop they told me that it needed to be taken off and was going to cost me $ 180 just to look at it.
I had called specifically for this and there was no mention that it might cost more to take off the wheel baring.
Also I had an estimate from them prior to this for the wheel baring that says the service charge is $ 100 an hour and it would take 1.8 hours. They tried saying it was a standard service charge for just to take it off to look at it. So it’s the same price to just take a look at it as it is to spend the time to fix it?
I’m glad they told me before doing the work and coming back to tell me it was going to be more for something else. I use to think this place was legit but what a waist of time. Also your going to treat me like I am dumb about the pricing?
Update: I still have the estimate you gave and your now saying it was going to be a different price. I’m also not going to take my car somewhere where you say one price, I get there and your going to try charging me almost the same price to look at it when you gave me an estimate to fix it for that price. I took it to Leonard’s Garage and they looked at the tire for free to determine the damage, and they took pictures of the damage. I am now happy with my car but in the future I will not be taking my car to your shop.

Excellent service and no bullshit. This my new garage for everything. They’ve won my business. A simple door handle replacement and fix would have cost me hundreds of dollars at a dealership. These guys charged me what they pay for parts and the service rate is unbeatable. If you’ve got car trouble, definitely call these guys.

What can I really say about this place that will ever do it justice? Well, in the small amount of space I have here, not much. The staff are wonderful and are very clear about what needs to be done, and no harassing up-​sales that are completely unwarranted for what work you need to have done. they are hones and up front with you, and their prices are extremely friendly. I brought both my RAV4, and my wifes Sonata in for some major repairs that were desperately needed. Just for my RAV4, the dealers, and some other garages quoted me prices of 1,800 price without tax. Buddha’s cost, 950.00, I wont even go into how much the dealer quoted me to replace the front end on my wifes sonata, but we only paid 1,250.00 with Buddha’s. Now, our cars are running and operating better than ever. No issues to date. they offer a good warranty where most do not. I can not say how very pleased we are to have found such a wonderful operation. These guys put their hearts into what they do every day, and it shows. Job well done fella’s. 5 Stars from the Fieldmedic!

If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would. Short version:
— finds what’s wrong with my car that nobody else can figure out
— Amazing prices, completely reasonable
— all of the nicest guys you could ask for
— goes out of their way to be helpful
— honest, straightforward, does not try to screw you. I will believe anything they say
— we have many mechanics close to us, but I will drive over 15 minutes north just to go to Buddhas

How does a car mechanic shop maintain a solid 5 stars? When you come here, you can easily see why.
The front lady is amazingly honest and nice on the phone. She answers my questions and doesn’t try to give me vague generic answers like other car repair shops do. When I went in, she is so darn sweet! I’ve now brought both our vehicles here for some work and each time they are priced competitively and they are extremely honest. I trust them now that I don’t even ask around other shops for quotes anymore because I know the owners here at Buddha’s will give me the best price that they can and do a great job. This saves me time and money, which both makes me happy.

What can I say, except that Buddha’s Garage is our go-​to auto mechanic. We don’t even bother calling around to get quotes because we know we are going to get excellent service and repair, for a fair price. What stands out is, in particular, is their honesty and integrity when going over service options. They will work with you to identify cost savings, and will not try to up-​sell you on unnecessary service. We service all our cars here. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth. Buddha’s Garage is the best!

I drive a 14 year old beater, so I have become quite familiar with a lot of the mechanics in the North Austin area. I’ve also had some pretty bad experiences, sometimes the issue isn’t fixed at all, once it was actually worse when I picked up my car.
I had a really good experience here though. My car was shuddering and shaking badly when idling. I called Buddha’s Garage and they were able to get me in the next day. The problem ended up being an ignition coil and my last old motor mount needed to be replaced. The price was very fair and reasonable — the price for the motor mount was less than when I had the other ones replaced elsewhere. They even filled up my windshield washer fluid, which had just ran out, and put air in my tires (I am notoriously bad at remembering to do this). My car runs great now and it didn’t take them long to get the work done. The reviews here are accurate — if you want a trustworthy mechanic who does good work at a fair price this is the place to go.

My 1998 White Accord (218,000 miles) had problems. Engine light and a shop in Round Rock told me it needed a new Cat and O2 Sensor. Brought to Budda’s and Will found the problem… after 3 – 4 days it was a map sensor o-​ring. Total charge $ 80 for all that Detective Work to find the problem and an o-​ring. Took it home and that weekend the engine light game back on. Those pesky 1457 Evap code were haunting the car. I brought it back and told David to keep it until it’s fixed. It is now fixed after replacing the Evap canister and solenoid. $ 385 bucks later it is fixed! Yeahhhhhhhhh. These guy’s never gave up and I can’t be happier. I’m a big fan of Budda’s Garage… David and Will! I Highly recommend Budda’s! Awesum bunch of guys! I’m bringing it back next year for a timing belt job!
Great Garage and Smart people!

I was impressed with Dave and his crew. They went above and beyond to get my check engine light fixed on my MK4. He even went above and beyond to get the engine cycles in so it could be inspected.

Wow. Five stars. Yes.
An honest, friendly, thorough, communicative, hard-​working mechanic.
Dave offered great explanations, useful advice, and was patient with my many questions. He got to the core of my car problem (it was the harmonic balancer — doesn’t that kind of sound divine?). Buddha has now officially restored balance of harmony. Add me to the customer4lyfe list.

I went to Buddha’s Garage based on the Unilocal reviews. They were all 100% accurate.
Honesty and Proficiency: I came here for a third opinion on some brake issues I was having. The previous two shops gave me completely different answers, so I needed an accurate, honest diagnosis.
Place A: told me my front brakes were fine. Back brakes needed replacing.
Place B: told me I needed new struts, mounts, and a front brake job.
Buddha’s quickly confirmed that neither of the two shops was exactly right. They said my struts were leaking, but that was normal for an 11-​year old car. He explained that I did NOT have to replace them… that it was completely up to me, as this was more o a ‘quality of the ride’ issue, and not necessary for proper or safe operation of the vehicle. He did confirm that the back brakes needed to be replaced. They also noted a slight crack in the serpentine belt, but said that I did NOT need to replace it… just something to keep an eye on.
He went through every single item in detail, quoted me a price, and explained why it was or was not necessary.
When I came back to pick up my car, the price was exactly what he quoted me.
Reasonable prices: The price they quoted was $ 300 less than the national chain. He also was offering a 10% discount on labor if I paid in cash or check.
Bottom line: These guys just want to help fix your vehicle. They are not in it to scam you or make extra money. And they know what they are doing.
Bonus: All of the guys were extremely friendly and courteous. They offered me coffee, and volunteered to give me a ride home or to work,
I will definitely be going back, as well as recommending Buddha’s to everybody I know.

A friend told me to go here — and so glad I listened. These guys rock.
I put off getting my timing belt done and had a huge road trip coming up. I realized I needed to do it way too late… like 5 days before. I called them and he promised he’d get it done before I had to leave. I was super nervous, but they did it!
To top it off, I got quotes from Yost, Precision, and a couple other places around town. They were all 200 or more over what I was charged at Buddha’s.
