I needed a med/​small sized oak tree and a few branches from the adjacent properties tree’s that were hanging over my back yard trimmed. I also needed two small bushes trimmed along with the typical yard work like mowing the front and back yard and raking. I explained what I needed to Nathaniel and he agreed and said they would make everything look real nice and even suggested some things to improve my yard looking forward. When he quoted me I was in shock but I thought to myself that at this price the yard will look immaculate. WRONG. When they raked they ended up taking all the mulch that was buried beneath the leaves, which is understandable, but at the price I paid I expected some NEW mulch to be left in it’s place. Overall the job took no more than 2 – 3 hours since I have a very small property and my front yard was left in shambles with the black plastic barrier that surrounded the mulch/​bush area just laying on the ground not anchored down or anything. They didn’t even get rid of a few root sprouts which I requested to be taken out. By the way he only communicated with me via text message and asked me to pay in cash? Strange since this Unilocal page says he accepts credit cards. I told him Unilocal says he accepts credit cards and he said «cash is king but checks ok. How about pay pal.»
He was supposed to meet me at my house at 7:30p.m. for the walk through and he did not show up until a bit after 8:00p.m. I explained to him my concerns and asked for a breakdown of the costs and he said he had about 4 – 6 guys on it which is why it was done so fast and that he has to pay waste fee’s for the dump/​hauling/​chains etc. Anyway, I agreed and he said his guys or himself would come by and take care of my remaining concerns the following morning yet he still wanted the (insane) payment. I was reluctant to pay before the job was done but he assured me he would come. What do you think happened? Correct! He never came to finish the job and has since ignored my texts.
I should have paid attention to the reviews Unilocal likes to hide at the bottom of the page which «aren’t recommended.» My situation is similar to the reviews in that hidden section that I didn’t look at until it was too late. He made a nice lump of cash off me but hopefully this review will save others.
The second star is because they did do a decent job on the trees but it should be expected for the insane price he charged me.

I had a large lot (50ft x 50ft) that was overgrown with brush. I found Nathaniel online and he promptly came by to give me a quote. He and his co-​workers knocked out most of the work in one day and then came back later that week to haul off the trash. Great guy!

I had a small landscaping job and Nathaniel was the quickest contractor to reply to my request and was available the next day to start it. He was able to wrap it up in a day and he put in some hard work. We came in a little over budget, partly because he estimated just based on a few pictures I provided him and we also changed the scope of the project mid-​way through adding some more rock. But in the end I think both parties were happy with the final price. I would definitely use him again for additional landscaping or tree needs.

Brush Country Trees & Landscape came out and took down a tree that was about to fall on our house. They also prettied up a cedar I was contemplating just getting rid of and cleared extra brush from our yard. They were friendly, fast and charged a good rate. I would definitely hire them again.

I’m not sure how this company has gained so many positive reviews, my experience was far from 5 stars. What should have been a 3 day job drug out to over three weeks and is still lingering. The sod he laid isn’t fantastic, there are holes throughout the yard with no sand, and I keep finding plants UNDER the sod that he didn’t take out.
Says he’ll be there at a certain day and time, doesn’t show up and doesn’t call to tell me he’s not coming. I have never been so disappointed or frustrated. I’ll be spending the next few weekends correcting quite a bit of what I paid Nathaniel to do.

I needed two privacy bush/​tree things taken out of my front yard. I found Nathaniel online and gave him a try. He got back to me promptly and we made an appointment. He actually showed up early. That was a nice change. The last few contractors Ive used have all been late.
He did the work all by himself in a timely manner and even gave me options as to what I can do with the now blank space where the trees used to be.
I would definitely use him again.

Nathaniel’s team was prompt and clearly communicates the work in progress so there is no question that you are getting exactly what you paid for! His team was professional and super nice and they have a breadth of expertise in several different areas. I had a huge yard of trees needing pruned and/​or removed and they did a great job — most importanatly following through and paying attention to details for a reasonable price! Thank you!

I have hired Nathaniel several times to do various projects for us. He is extremely professional and gets the job done right. He listens to directions and follows through to completion. He and his employees are polite and take their work seriously. He has extensive knowledge of how to care for trees and is very creative when it comes to landscape design. I would highly recommend him.

Nathaniel was great! He quoted me a price, did the work as promised, and charged me what he quoted me. What more can you ask for!

My wife and I bought our house in June of 2012. One thing we had at the top of our list was to do a full yard clearing in the back of the property. There was a chain link and wood fence that were in shambles along with some fallen tree trunks and a large wood pile that were eyesores. I called Nathaniel and his crew to come out and they gave us a free estimate on the work. Communication with them has been great, and they got the job done in a couple of days, even after adding some limb cutting to the job. The back yard looks really clean now and we’re looking forward to doing more projects back there.

Nathaniel and his crew did an awesome job for Marcelino’s patio. They turned a brushy yard that has some nice tables into a wonderful patio garden with great smelling herbs. I highly recommend Brush Country for the high quality work they did. Our customers are pleased and many venture out to eat on the patio. Thanks a whole bunch Nathaniel!

Nathaniel is a very personable person, along with the men that work with him. They are very professional and I was pleased with how I was treated up to the point where I needed them to fix something.
I guess at first I was very impressed with Nathaniel and his vision of what he could do to with my patio entrance. I had the fence already installed and was wanting a limestone path with decomposed granite as a filler and a TX garden on either side … you can see the pictures on their website. It ended up looking really great. Unfortunately, he said weed block would be put down in the garden areas and also he would install mortar underneath the downspout by the garage so the decomposed granite would not wash out between the limestone in the path. So after he was finished that day, I asked if he had installed the weed block and the answer I got was «No, but we cleaned out the dirt real well so there will be no weeds.» I left for a month vacation and when I came back, there were weeds in my garden which I had to then pull out — wanted weed block so I wouldn’t have to do this. Also, it had rained while I was gone and all the decomposed granite from the limestone path had washed out from where the downspout hit it and the rock was in the street. I have given Nathaniel every chance to come back and fix what he had originally planned for my place and he has made at least 3 appointments with me and decided not to show up for any of them. The excuses I get are just, «We have been so busy that I wasn’t able to make it.» Not like a phone call would help but I have e-​mailed, texted and called with no satisfaction. I really don’t like writing bad reviews but I would really like to find a landscaper in this area that I can trust to do work for me the way I want and the way they tell me in the beginning. I don’t like shortcuts.
I’m sorry Nathaniel, I gave you every opportunity but I am giving you 1 star.
