After having patronized Bridgepoint Café for an additional few months, I’m kicking them up to 4 stars. — The breakfast tacos have improved immensely. They used to be highly variable quality-wise, now they’re always fresh-made. Sometimes it takes a few minutes of waiting, but it’s worth it, because the new ones are delicious, and often much more filling than before. There’s still grab-and-go ready-mades if you’re in a rush. — The friendliness got to me. Tracy the proprietor makes the extra effort to remember people, and that makes a difference to me. — They started offering pasta salad as an additional side besides just chips, which is good, even if pasta salad isn’t really that much healthier than potato chips. All of their strengths are still there, so those 3 things vault them into a higher tier. The Thundercloud Test is being met a lot more often these days.

The food is surprisingly and consistently great. They have a menu and a daily special. I wouldn’t expect food of this quality from a lunch café like this. It’s not fast food; the menu and specials are carefully thought out, always well executed and the specials offer a variety. The daily special is not just a feature item off the menu, and it’s more than just a handful of recipes that they rotate. The staff at this location(there are two locations) is super. Tracy remembers EVERYBODY’s name. Everybody. She remembers who we are, how we like our food, what extras we like and don’t like, who we normally come with and she asks about them if they aren’t with us. She’s chats with us while she’s taking our order. The whole staff is very friendly. I don’t know all their names, though they know mine. It makes a huge difference in the eating experience when the staff treat you so well. If you are in the area(Loop 360, next to the Pennybacker Bridge) you need to stop in and check it out.

If you work in or around the Courtyard Drive &360 area, you need to know about Bridgepoint Café. For a quick & tasty weekday lunch or breakfast, it’s a surprisingly decent option from an office complex cafeteria. FYI, this location is actually Bridgepoint Café II, and it’s the one most easily accessed from the top of the hill in the Bridgepoint Square Complex(as opposed to Bridgepoint Plaza on the north side of Courtyard Drive), next to the gym entrance in Building 2(aka the Statoil building). For the other location , head northeast back down Bridgepoint Parkway and go up the hill on Courtyard to Building 1(with the maroon awning over the entrance). Things I like here: + Outdoor seating with a view overlooking Lake Austin + Salmon burgers and the Mona Lisa sandwich + You can call in your order ahead of time to avoid the peak hour waits. + Breakfast tacos to go(3 items for $ 2) + Daily specials email alerts + Boar’s Head deli meats & cheeses + Bread baked fresh daily + Lite lunch specials + Generally very friendly staff + Discount for paying in cash and for ordering Today’s Special Not so great: — No fried foods at this location. On second thought, that’s probably a good thing for me. — No wi-fi at this location yet
