During winter storm «Jonas» I got stuck in Austin unable to fly home for a few days. Found this gem just exploring, very glad I did! They have a big selection of affordable cigars, the staff was super helpful. Everything sold there is hand rolled in shop! I smoked and had a cappuccino for about an hour. Awesome vibe. Will visit again!

I like their cigars a lot, and enjoyed some banter with the guys working there. It’s a real treat to go to a cigar shop that has their own brand, that rolls them right there in the shop sometimes.
The only complaint I could make is that the seating area was super uninviting, at least to me. It seemed like it was only there for show, and for the dudes that work and/​or hang out there to sit there.
Don’t get me wrong — they were all really nice and fun to interact with. I just didn’t get a «anyone can hang out here» vibe.
Nevertheless, I plan to return a lot — I loved their little flavored cigarillos. Get the hazelnut!

I LOVE going to Bobalu. Great cigars, coffee and friendly people. They always have a good selection of cigars, good values and at least one special. I’m a club member and get 2 for one and other discounts. Great smokey vibe for 6^th street. Stay Calm-​Light One Up!

I have come back so many times for gift ideas. The people are knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. The cigar rolling service was perfect for a special occasion I attended. The birthday boy is still thanking me a year later!

We’d been hunting down tins of Cojimar caramel cigarillos (pretty sure we’d have found them at the cigar store at Penn Field), but popped into Bobalu for the first time in forever and found their selection of small, flavored cigars to be amazing and more than meet that need. The hazelnut, their top seller, blew us away. Just perfect, though I’ll look for the mid-​size version next time, which would last for more of my Round Rock commute. The five-​to-​a-​pack ($ 4.95) are still worth it, however, as an option and a fun thing to share.
We also really liked the double maduro (blue label), and look forward to working our way through the rest of our purchases. And, pricing is pretty amazing: the sixth cigar was free, and we left with a really big bag of stuff for $ 40.
We didn’t even know there was a North location. Glad we woke up to this locally made cigar store.

Every time I drive through or stop in Austin I have to make a pilgrimage to Bobalu’s and pick up a box of their tri-​wraps. Every cigar is a solid consistent smoke. The coffee is great too!

Been my go to cigar shop for 3 years. The customer service is awesome, buyers club is the best and the cigars are to die for! Go during the day and talk with Josh, he is the best!

3^rd visit from Ohio, I will be in to pick up some smokes for race weekend. If you’re in for race weekend stop in & treat yourself to some fine cigars, Jeff & staff will take care of you.

They make their own cigars and only sell what they roll. And they have Torcedores on site.
There are about 4 tables to sit at. They have coffee & assorted beverages to drink.
Really enjoyed the mild, Connecticut wrapped cigar I smoked.

Bobalu cigars are pretty great. Their Sun Grown is my favorite, closely followed by the Criollo orange label and the blue double maduro.

This is the only cigar shop I got to when passing through Austin. Their cigars are definitely one of a kind. I can’t even compare the to big name distributors. The aromas from many of their lines is quite unique l, and always smoke evenly. Even their daily rolled sticks. I will be ordering from them as long as they make’em. A must visit for any cigar lover!

I wouldn’t recommend coming here for coffee or friendly service. Not that you would. That is all.

Ok, here’s the deal. When you first walk in there is a weird vibe, Like «Oh, great. Here’s another fat tourist who wants a mild cigar and a diet coke». It’s a small place and kinda hipsterie, which makes it a little more uncomfortable. And the guy at the front is not the most welcoming person in the world. Don’t let any of that scare you off from this amazing cigar lounge. I found, after a little conversation, the dude at the front wound up being very cool, informative and helpful about the cigars. It’s all their own brand of cigars that i found really amazing. As soon as I walked into the humidor, I could tell these guys take care of their cigars. The dude at the front hooked me up with a really great, mild cigar and a diet coke. He was willing to answer all my questions. They also have a good amount of cigar accessories that are really well priced. I will come here every time I come to Austin. This place gets 5 stars on personality alone. I really enjoy this place! Their roller, Derrick Franke is pretty dang awesome! He rolls his own cigars, right there in front of you! He’s really good about explaining what’s going into the smoke, how it impacts the taste, and what its function is in the cigar. He’s really helpful and answers all the questions you could possibly come up with regarding cigars!

Awesome cigars and prices well. Very easy to order online and have shipped or pick up locally. Fun to watch them hand roll on site.

I love cigars. Have been smoking them for years and can appreciate actually watching a professional tobacconist roll, assemble and press one right before your eyes. Prices are on par with commercial cigars but, again, you’re buying the experience. You can also get a coffee and chill out there.
When I walked in I was greeted by someone who I think may be the owner or the manager in charge. He greeted me nicely explain the whole situation and that made me feel welcome… this is a big difference compared to other cigar places which are typically manned by cigar snobs. Not the case here. Good energy at this place!

I always come to Bobalu to buy cigar gifts for my dad (bday, Father’s Day, etc). Bobalu hand rolls their own cigars, which provides a unique gift option.
Not a huge selection, but in my experience, the staff is helpful, especially if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for!

On our first trip to Austin, we came across this cigar shop immediately hitting 6^th St (plus it was early and nothing really open at that time) so we went in to check out the cigars. We were privy to watch the Cuban cigar rollers hard at work which is fun to watch. As Chris immediately went to the humidor the scope it out, I was immediately drawn to their coffee bar. Upon checking out the menu, I saw they served Cubanos; and at the urging of the Cuban cigar rollers, I HAD to try one. I mean serious, if the Cubans are telling me this is the best and true authentic Cuban coffee, then I MUST take their word because I see them drinking it.
And so begins my love of SUPER strong and sweet coffee. Seriously, I have always loved coffee; however, it has now been elevated to a whole other level! Chris bought several cigars, and we sat and enjoyed the atmosphere while he smoked a Texas Sweet & I drank my Cubano. As luck would have it, Chris is not really into coffee but was drawn to my drink, tried it and had to have one himself.
I decided to go chat it up with the Cuban men about finding some good Cuban food because now we were craving, lol and they sent us immediately to Habana (review to come later). Later that night, we returned and both had 2 more Cubanos each and were wired for the night!
When we returned in Feb, Bobalu was on our agenda! We have concluded that if we are planning to have a night on 6^th St, we MUST stop by Bobalu to fuel up on Cubanos first lol. Of course we did stock up on a variety of cigars including some flavored cigarrillos. I asked the young man behind the counter if he could make me a Cortado and apparently he didn’t know about it but asked me so I told him, and he made it for me… even the Cortado was the BEST I have had to date anywhere! I really think i has something to do with the espresso they are using because on our first visit, the lady had said it was a special one just for them. Whatever it is, it is SUPER strong and freaking flavorful; the milk doesn’t mask it either.
If you’re looking for some great cigars and a large variety, Bobalu is your place. If you’re looking for that perfect cup of coffee, something jet-​fueled (lol), something strong and sweet, go to Bobalu and ask for their Cortado (definitely get it done right with the sugar brewed WITH the esresso!)
