Boardwalk Flooring

I wish there was an option for no stars. Michael’s crew left deep gashes in my newly painted walls, left huge clumps of glue on the newly finished cabinets, and failed to replace the little bumper guards that keep doorknobs from hitting walls. More dents and gashes.
When I asked the crew to not hit the walls, or to clean up the glue, they swore at me in Spanish (I understand Spenish). When I contacted Michael, he said he wasn’t happy with that crew either and probably wouldn’t use them again. And that’s my problem because of what?
After the job was completed, I asked him to fix the walks & remove the glue. He said he’d fired that crew & told me all I needed to do was to get some mineral spirits & it would remove the glue. Excuse me??? He did not offer to come out and fix anything.
As with others. I believe I was referred to them through Lumber Liquidators. Not a happy camper here.

I would give this place no stars, that is how mad I am about the job they did. We also found these guys from Lumber Liquidators. We bought a house that had to have the floors replaced and we were picked out a nice Cherry wood for the floors.
Not only did they do a terrible job of installing the floors, we had them come back at least 3 times to fix it and to this day I am still unhappy with the floors. We finally gave up because each time they seemed to make things worse. There was no communication unless we called over and over. When they sent out their «best crew» and they messed things up, I knew there would be no getting my money’s worth on the floor. Which sucks. Installing a new floor in a house is expensive and something we only wanted to do once. Now, we are stuck with flooring that feels terrible in spots under foot as the wood is beginning to buckle in places. They installed the baseboards as well and did a terrible job. There is a 5-​inch piece of baseboard in my dining room that has about 12 nails in it. The boards are starting to pull away from the wall and the caulk is cracking everywhere. sigh…
Please do not use these guys. They are terrible. Our floors are so disappointing to me and I would not want anyone else to have to deal with this.

Michael found us in the Lumber Liquidators as well when were selecting wood for our floors. He seemed very knowledgable and we agreed to have him out for measurements. We took him through our home and he wrote down all the measurements. Our wood and tile were delivered on time and his crew began work shortly after. His crew consisted of three men and one woman (on occasioni two) who spoke little to no english. They were very friendly but hard to communicate with. They finished in a reasonable amount of time considering the size of the job. At first glance the wood and tile looked amazing. We were told we had a one year warranty on the floor installation. The issues started soon after when I noticed unstained bullnose in our laundry roon and cracking grout in our kitchen and upstairs bath. Some of the wood I began to notice later was raising and not flush with the stepdowns. I called Michael each time I had an issue and he would send his crew out to fix the issues. They tried but the grout kept cracking and they did a horrendous job on staining the bullnose. I called again regarding the cracking grout and again they came to fix it. Within days, it was back to cracking and the tile itself began cracking too. These calls and follow up fixes took the course of a year. It was unbearable in the kitchen stepping on little pieces of grout! I called Michael again and even though we were outside the year, I explained that our issue had never been satisfied. Our wood was raised and we had two rooms with cracking grout and tile. I was so angry that Michael came to the house to see what he could do. He didn’t do anything but talk. He blamed the house for the cracking tile. Said we needed to switch to wood in the kitchen and bath. I said we spent $ 40K on these floors to live with cracked tile and grout! He said he had some wood he could sell us for cheap. I was flabbergasted. All this plus he forgot to measure our bedroom closet so we still have nasty brown carpet in there because he didn’t include it in the original quote for our budget! It is now two years later and we are still living with the same situation. Michael said he would check on a «flexible» grout and the pricing on his wood and get back to me. Its been two years. Michael, if you read these I would be happy to revisit our situation and resolve it. I’ve spoken to other flooring people and contractors but I’m holding out for you. Each has explained that its not the floor or the houses’ fault but the installation.

Awful! Beware!!! This company was referred to us from Lumber Liquidators so this gave me a little comfort that a good job would be done. Boy was I mistaken. The owner, Michael, is a complete waste of space. The team of 2 that he sent out were completely unprofessional in the work product and their attitude. MANY errors were made, from using too much glue/​not enouh glue, bad cuts (they never even used a tape measure once!), bad gapping, not to mention that they had a complete disregard for our home. So much dust and did not cover anything up. Equipment old and dull that it caused a smoke smell in the house. The guy had to ask me for a pencil!!! And to top in off, when questioned about the mistakes the «foreman» got extremely pissy. Called Michael about this and he said that the foreman was responsible for quality control and he just worked in the office. Really??? Finallly got the waste of space to come out to view everything. We told him that we did not want them fixing anything, that we would handle. Also, overquoted the job. Had four full boxes left over… should not have that much even with waste!!!

I did business with Michael at Boardwalk and truly regret it. His dishonesty in selling me product that he knew was defective is reprehensible. His unwillingness to rectify the situation when contacted led me to Unilocal as I feel people should know what to expect when dealing with Michael and Boardwalk flooring.

Michael and his crew were great! Work that I expected to take weeks, they had done in days. When I was uncertain of exactly what I wanted Michael and his crew were very helpful giving me suggestions. I would recommend Wood Walk Flooring to anyone considering new floors.
