At Blue Note Bakery we specialize in custom cakes & desserts for all occasions.
We use local eggs, as many local products as we can and our menu flavors change with what is in season. We make everything from scratch including our hand made Honey Rum Fondant. Our cakes are slightly more dense than «cake mix» cakes allowing for more flavor with each bite.
As a completely from scratch bakery, we have the unique ability to make your cake completely customizable, from flavors and filling to shape and design, the possibilities are endless. Since every person is different, we take the time to get to know you and make sure that your cake is designed to be uniquely yours. Our 2D & 3D sculpted creations are our most popular designs and we have just as much fun making it as you will presenting it.
Try the Cake Bars — our modern take on a petite four. Each serves 5 – 7 people. Great for any occasion.

History
Established in 2004.
Blue Note Bakery was established in April of 2004. as a custom cake and pastry shop in South Austin by Angela Jiles, a decorated pastry chef with over 20 years of experience. Since opening its doors Blue Note has been featured in numerous culinary publications including; Rachael Ray Magazine, Edible Austin, and Austin Monthly. As a Blue Note client you can expect the highest quality of service, an authentic design, and a great tasting product! Everything is made from scratch including our famous Honey Rum Fondant.

Business Owner
As a child I learned you could get people to do just about anything for chocolate. I began baking at age 8 for competitions in county fairs for 4-H.
When I was a senior in High School, I took an art class & a cooking class. It seemed like a natural fit. At the end of the school year, I entered the County fair with a chocolate cake recipe that I created. It won Grand Champion & was auctioned off for almost $ 900. About the same time I recieved a scholarship to Johnson & Wales University for Pastry Arts.
After Graduating I moved to Atlanta to work for a resort hotel. From there I worked my way up to Pastry Chef. I got married & moved to SF, moved back to Austin & began teaching pastry arts @ CAA.
I always had the drive to work for myself & be an artist, so I created Blue Note Bakery & my dream became reality.
So, now everyday I get to come in & create works of «Edible Art».
