Cathy was right… there is a bit of a wait here. Burger was a little small, and not completely cooked through :/. Still was pretty good… with just a couple of tweaks, this place could be the stuff of legend.

Tired, hungry, and brain-dead from finishing an exam, I was making my way back to my west campus apartment in a dazed state. I crossed Guad in front of the co-op, and had juuust dodged some promoters, when I looked up and spotted this little green box. I’d remember hearing about it thanks to Eugene L.‘s review, so I ventured closer and lo and behold! Delicious korean goodness. As soon as I spotted the word«bulgogi» I knew I had to stop. The guy running the stand is unbelievably sweet. He’s just a happy, smiling Korean man that somehow fits inside that seemingly tiny green box and produces delish food on the spot.(Actually, he kinda looks like this youth pastor I know from a church back in Htown, but I digress.) I ordered a «kbq spicy kick» which is basically a spicy bulgogi burger. As I waited for it(he cooks EVERYTHING right then), the smells wafted out alluringly attracting lingering looks from just about every person that had just crossed Guad walking by. Since he does cook it on the spot, there’s a bit of a wait. Don’t stop by here if you’re in a rush to make it to class or something. The burger itself was juicy and yummy. Seriously, so juicy. The meat was dripping juices as I bit into it, the marinade was smothering the bottom bun — I have no shame in admitting I just dipped every bite of that burger back into the pool of juices that had collected in the foil. Finger lickin’ good(which you might need to, as it was super messy). Now, I love Korean food, but I’m no expert on authenticity. I’ll leave that to someone else to judge. BUT I can say that it was a good fusion burger, definitely not just a regular American burger. It wasn’t actually spicy either, but it was still so good I can’t even complain. My only qualm was that it was on the small side. If you’re only a little peckish, you should be okay with just one. But if you’re hungry and want to make it a meal, I’d suggest getting two.(Honestly I wasn’t that hungry, but I found myself wishing for another just because it was so darn tasty.) Despite that, at $ 4.50, I felt it was fairly priced for the quality and the portion. I’ll be back again some time to try other things on the menu(lookin at you, bulgogi rice and bibimbap burger). I forgot to ask about his hours, so if someone else can figure that out, let us know! As of now he’s only accepting cash, BUT he informed me that he’d start taking credit card also in a couple days! Also, complimentary hi-chew candy with each purchase, hehe.
