Horrible customer service. The last gown I purchased was from bcbg about 1 year ago, but I remembered that they had a great selection so I went again because I’m currently in the market for a new gown. Everything was great until I started picking up dresses. I found 4 dresses I wanted to try on and the sales person was extremely opinionated and didn’t even let me talk. I had two friends with me and the sales person talked over them. Then she tried to sell me a dress that was too small after I told her that the dress was extremely uncomfortable. I ended up getting the same dress from Dillards for cheaper. Long story short if you are looking for a nice dress or outfit please do yourself a favor and go to nieman marcus or dillards.

What’s with the attitude, folks? This is BCBG. Not couture. I’ve had pleasant experiences shopping at the BCBG in the Barton Creek Mall for years, so I was quite surprised when I was 100%, totally, completely ignored at the Domain location when I went in this week. Like, completely ignored. Picture that scene in Pretty Woman, except with me(a 35-year old mom armed with shopping bags) instead of Julia Roberts. The saleswoman at the front desk barely glanced up from her phone conversation in Spanish when I walked in and passed her; she had clearly seen me, but apparently decided I wasn’t worth the trouble. Her coworker emerged a moment later as I was sifting through the racks of gowns and proceeded to completely ignore me. Same as I exited the store. Really? What what’s a gal in need of a gown to do? I hopped on the MoPac and headed straight to the Barton Creek mall location, where I had a lovely time with their staff(who are always incredibly helpful) and purchased a beautiful dress. From now on, I’ll just take my business there and won’t bother with the Domain location.

I got a gift certificate to BCBG for Christmas, and went to the outlet mall first. HATEIT. The outlet mall is not even close to living up to the real BCBG, so I left with nothing. I then went to the one in the Domain, and was really excited because they are having a really great sale right now. Nothing against BCBG, some of the clothes are pretty cute, but I’m a 5’2″ tall woman, and none of their clothing fits me right. All the cute trends with the tops/jackets that are long in back and short up front make my butt disappear and show off the most unflattering part of my tummy. I also felt the clothing was a bit matronly… or too fancy for my needs. Just not super impressed. In fact, if anyone wants to buy my gift card off me, let me know.

This store has a couple locations in town, but the one at the Domain is my favorite. Generally I don’t like the Domain b/c it’s a little heavy on the attitude and pretentiousness. But for whatever reason this store seems free of that. Many, many good things about this place: 1. Parking — lots of free parking in the garage and this store is right on the corner near the garage so it’s convenient to park and go just to this place and then get the h*!! out of dodge. Plus the garage parking means its shady which is helpful in this heat. Keeps the interior of my car below 150* 2. Very high quality clothing — lots of great fabrics, creative designs. I like the clothes here because they are trendy and fashionable without being ridiculous. You can actually wear these clothes. They have a wide variety, everything from casual, to work appropriate to date dresses to cocktail/black tie attire. 3. Great Sales!!! — The clothes are pricey, so the high frequency of sales helps a lot. Every time I have been in here they are having some sort of sale. Most of the time they have at least one rack(often multiple racks) that are 70% off. The new merchandise quickly gets marked down to 30% off. So you can easily go in and find something that is still in season and on sale. 4. Non-annoying sales staff. The staff here typically seems to be pretty young, but they know about the clothes and are very helpful in checking for sizes, getting you a dressing room, etc. And honestly they are too young to really pull off that super snobby sales girl attitude so this place seems to be free of that. They lost one star for their overly restrictive return policy. If you buy something on sale you can NOT bring it back. At all. Ever. For any reason. So buyer beware on that front. Look your merchandise over, make sure there aren’t any problems. In all fairness, the quality of the clothes has never been an issue and they are very up-front that this is the policy so it’s not like they are tricking you.
