This park is terrible for eating! Don’t plan on picnicking if you use this park. Flies never leave you alone! Spash pad is a nice perk and play area is big and spacious for kids. There’s just so many bugs here it seems like they don’t wash down the picnic tables or something!

As a disc golfer… I am a fan of this park. Why? Because this is the site of the OLDEST disc golf course in Texas… so it’s historical for our sport. I currently know that the Waterloo Disc Golf Club has been working with the Parks Department for YEARS to get the course modified, improved, and replace missing baskets; while changing the layout to accomodate the modern«flow» of the park and utilize the parking spaces better. Disc golfers have always kept this park revitalized and cleaned, long before the new renovations of the pool and amenities, so it is a good time that they can get their course an updated«face lift» as well. The baskets are painted bright red/orange, the tee boxes are better marked with colored poles and hopefully soon the Parks and Rec Dept will allow the local Waterloo Disc Golf Club do its work to update and modify the course in an updated manner and bring new life to Texas’ oldest disc golf course.

I like the splashpad. It’s covered, and not overly crowded. That being said, there are some sketchy people around the area, so keep your eyes open and your phone in your pocket.

I would recommend going with a group of people. I wouldn’t go there alone with my 2year old. It was pretty crowded but all the children were behaving. The splash pad is neat, and like the fact that its under a tarp. The bad thing is that there is no grass just patches of long stem weeds. There were random people coming in and out of the park that looked sketchy. Some man managed to get a whole meal from a nearby celebration at the park. The parking is gravel near the splash pad.

I love this park plenty of room for the kids to run around and you can still watch them from far away I love how they added a free splash pad! I had a BBQ here before and I love how its never to crowded and there are plenty of picnic tables to sit at.

As far as parks go, this used to be pretty run down. If you are familiar with this area of town, it isn’t the best. However, with the recent changes made it has become somewhere that I like taking my kids. The baseball parks they have are well maintained, and there are plenty to choose from. Being that it is summer, they are a little packed, but still its pretty nice if you are in a league. There is lots of green space and a few different areas to explore if you don’t just want a playground. The splashpad is pretty new as well and is a decent size. There is seating around it so its comfortable to have a picnic and run in and out of the water. i have been to several outings here and have had a great time. It is very family friendly, well kept, and spacious. I would definitely reccomend this place for a family day out if you have small children, or want to throw a BBQ. Overall, I like the park, and I will definitely be back.
