I am new to Austin and was kinda scared to try a new hair dresser. I read some amazing reviews about Lee on Unilocal but I was told«never trust Unilocal reviews» but Thank God! I did trust my gut feeling and went straight to this amazing guy who did a great job on my hair. He got me exactly what I wanted! I love my new look. Thanks Lee! U r amazing!

Lee is amazing. He stayed late for me, through in a blowout and knew his way around highlights! Seriously, I have had my hair done by at least 30 people before and no one comes close to him! If you are a blonde like me, he is your saving grace!

Lee Rodriguez is a hair goddess — I now have had him do it for the 3rd time for highlights color and cut and I am constantly asked who does my hair — I run out of his business cards between trips to see him — I love going to the salon, all the stylist there are so much fun, tons of good energy. I would highly recommend this group of professionals

I went to the salon for an appointment at 3pm. The address listed on Groupon was not the correct one. I called and the stylist said that it was okay to come late because he is still with a client. I arrived at 310 pm waited for 30 minutes in the reception area and everyone seemed busy. The receptionist and her daughter was talking non stop to a client or whoever that was. The stylist saw me but never took a second to recognize that I was waiting. He was still cutting the hair of a client. Nobody seemed to recognize I came in and at least said something! It was a horrible experience. I just had to leave!

I am high maintenance when it comes to my hair. I know Katie outside the salon and decided to give her a shot at my hair. It’s been colored a lot, and I like the color done in a special design. I explained all this to her and she did magic! She did it exactly the way I wanted it and the color was flawless. A few weeks later I was due for a touch up, and asked if I could get in on a random day off for me. She wasn’t available but offered for me to see Kristy. She spoke confident of Kristy and reassured me she would be able to do what I needed. 100% true! Kristy did great. I had even changed the way I parted my hair so it called for some color maneuvering and she rocked it. I highly recommend Baby Face salon. P. S. Why Unilocal keeps reviews on here from 4 years ago is ridiculous, and pointless really. Businesses change, new owners, and upgrades happen.

Let me start by saying I’m very picky about my hair… and yep, they get 5 stars! I have been going to Greg is who FABULOUS at both cut and color. I have a pixie cut and he can still get creative with color and style enough that I don’t get bored. Booking is easy, cuz I just text him. My only hesitation is writing this review is that he will be harder to get into. ;-) Thanks Greg!

So how I wandered into this salon is kind of a funny story. My roommate and I decided to try to dye my hair blonde with a box kit… it was catastrophic. My hair was orange and I left the apartment in a panic. I got on Google Maps and saw that this salon was close so I decided to call. I called around 5:30pm explained what happened and asked if they could possibly squeeze me in. Greg the owner asked a few questions and told me to come in. Once I got there I met Jeanette who would soon be my savior. She worked closely with Greg to make sure my hair turned out just right and boy did it. Jeanette was super sweet. Not only did they give me gorgeous partial highlights and a great cut, but they also stayed after hours to do so and even offered to give me a ride home. These guys were the sweetest people ever and I’m so thankful they were able to squeeze me in and do such a beautiful job. I will definitely be returning and would recommend this salon to anyone.

I ended up trying this place because they had a coupon for a pedicure. The manicurist had been overbooked so I ended up waiting. Greg, the owner came to explain to me that he was the one who messed up her schedule and apologized profusely. Turns out the manicurist is his sister and so funny! She had me cracking up with some hysterical stories. She did a great job on my ped and I ended up getting a mani while I was there cuz she was having a special. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is cuz when I called to book the appt the girl who answered the phone said there weren’t any openings for the day I wanted. Thankfully Greg then got on the phone and set me up with the date I wanted and was very polite. I think the girl who first answered the phone was probably just confused or new or something. I also like this place because Greg does have family working there and I think that’s really a great trait.

I got a haircut here yesterday from Brenda. This was a shot in the dark, I read good reviews and decided to give it a whirl. I was in bad need of a trim, and couldn’t wait before the holidays for my usual stylist at another salon. The salon itself was mediocre. They have the stations arranged kind of everywhere, every station looked like the furniture was from Goodwill. The Muzak in the background was very dated, and the overall feeling of the whole salon just felt kind of half-assed, like no one really wanted to put in any extra effort with say artwork on the walls, etc. The girl that I assume was the receptionist spent the entire time texting on her phone, even when she was talking to me. Brenda wasn’t very friendly and gave me a mediocre haircut($ 45). I’m not sure she was listening when I specified what I wanted. I like my side-swept bangs; she gave me straight across the front ala Anne Hathaway bangs. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend. If you’re in a pinch, go to someplace like Ulta.

Love this place! Laid back & relaxing! I’ve been going to Katie S. for about 7yrs now, & I can request some tricky styling. Katie is patient & is great about creating the exact hair style I picture! I had my hair done today & came right home to write this review. Greg is also a Great hairstylist & very sweet… Everybody there is great! Thank you Baby Face, I would trust my hair to nobody else but you!!!

I went here for the first time on a Friday and had a very nice experience. I called in this morning and they got me in at noon. I’m very nervous about haircuts but the ladies here were so nice and understanding. This is not a prissy salon, but rather just friendly people who will make you feel comfortable. I’ll let you know how the cut works out, as I haven’t worn it curly yet. **Note that mapquest will not allow them to change their address. They are not located where Unilocal shows them at. They’re at the southwest corner of Anderson Mill Rd. and 183(in the shopping center with the Chevron on the corner).

I’ve been going to Baby Face for about 10 years now and I can honestly say this is the place for me. Even when I moved to far South Austin, I tried using another stylist and just came back to Baby Face cause I want someone who will treat me and my hair with respect and kindness and that is Baby Face to a T! Katie is my girl over there, but I would use Greg or Eddie if I needed too. Eddie is great at washing hair! Every time I go to get my hair done, I feel like I am visiting family that I like! When ever I go in and don’t know exactly what I want, Katie will talk with me about what my mood is. She knows me well enough to figure out what I am talking about and if she needs other ideas or suggestions, we’ll get all the stylists involved with my hair. I’ve also had some waxing done and manicure and a pedicure. No complants with any work I have had done. And even if I did have a complaint, or it didn’t turn out right — I know they would fix it until I was happy!

I’m definitely a fan of this place. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very close-knit and very friendly. I get my hair cut by Greg, who does a fantastic job.

Back when I made more money, I went to see Michael Jones for my hair cuts and Josh Bomberger for my color. I love, love, love them both. But, I got laid off — took a pay cut — and had to cut back somewhere(puns unintentional). I’d been to Greg Lara at BabyFace previously and decided to return. Greg’s not only creative and professional, he’s a nice human being. I get compliments on my hair all the time. When I’m ready for a change, he always has great ideas. The salon’s atmosphere is bright and clean and comfortable and you are never, EVER pressured into buying anything. I usually have to ask, «Now what did you use on my hair?» because there’s never a sales pitch. Greg’s fabulous but he gets booked up very quickly. During the time I’ve spent in foils under the dryer I’ve seen work his other stylists have done and I can recommend Katie and Eddie — one of the cuts I saw Eddie do for a woman was hot, hot, HOT. Baby Face is a great value — something we’re all looking for in these days of $ 4/gallon gas!
