Dr. Robert Hughes is awesome. This review is not about his service. This review is about billing through Austin Regional Clinic. I made a payment for the copay and the office applies it to another bill and not the copay I told at the time to apply it too, so next time I come it they tell me I have a balance for a copay I know I paid. Was on the phone with them for an hour trying to figure out where my copay went too so instead of my account being paid in full as I thought, now I owe money.
On top of that, they charged me for an office visit for a post op on a surgery I had when this visit was already paid for through my surgery, so now they claim I owe another copay. Another round with billing as to why they are charging an office visit on a post op and the billing office doesn’t even see the charge but they filed it on my insurance.
They also claim I also owe another $ 300 from a service I had in the year 2011(it’s 2016), that I do not have any knowledge about, but I see now why they claim I owe it. They don’t have anything together there in the accounting office.
This has been a nightmare regarding billing that I would love to wake up from. They REALLY need to figure out accounting. ESPECIALLY, when a patient says this payment is for this, apply it to what they want. That way the patient knows what they actually owe.
I am seriously considering going somewhere else. The only reason why I haven’t yet is because Dr. Hughes and his nurse are awesome. And when you find a doctor you like it’s hard to change, but I seriously want too.
Looking at my claims, I overpaid for the surgery. Looking at the other reviews here, I feel that I am going to have lots of «fun» trying to get my money back, which I will desperately need to be able to pay for the rest of the surgery with the hospital, etc… So not looking forward to it!

I see Dr. Maya Bledsoe for endocrinology (specifically: my thyroid is busted), and she is wonderful! As I have dealt with several endocrinologists for this issue, I can verify that Dr. Bledsoe is head and shoulders above the rest! She takes the time to listen to your concerns fully and does everything she can to help you out. I always feel well cared for by her and her nurse team. She is incredibly knowledgeable and makes me feel confident in my treatment. I am very grateful to have such a fantastic medical professional on my side.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bledsoe’s for several years now. A friend of mine recommended her after hearing of my thyroid problems that two other endocrinologists were not able to solve. She has always provided excellent care and I have never had to wait long. The office staff has always been quick to check me in. I highly recommend Austin Regional Clinic.

This review is for Dr. Maya Bledsoe one of the Endocrinologists. She is fantastic and really takes the time to listen to your needs/​issues before diagnosing and responding. She has worked very close with me over the last 6 months with thyroid issues, a surgical removal, the finding of cancer in the thyroid and re-​leveling of meds. She has always been very informative and I have always felt comfortable with her knowledge. I would and have recommended her to many friends.

My goal is not to bash this hospital but instead inform you to read the reviews. I have been Coming to this location for years And having my first child in March. I decided to keep my Dr. Renu chalsani until the last month. I felt like she had no time to see me and when she would see me she could skip out on a test or 2 because it was so close to her leaving for the day. She is a very knowlagable Dr but being so she should take The hint that being rude and pushy won’t get her far. The office staff to schedule appointments are rude and very unworkable .when explaining to them I would prefer NOT to work with a male Dr, I was pretty much told I had no choice. They had no morning or afternoon appointments for a week out and refused to give the customer service that is not only needed but expected when working with this kind of job. I will say I happened to have one young lady named Ashely that was very sweet about any problems and would try to take the time to work with me but would be to late at the time I was Fed up, Speaking to 4 other repersentaives and a manager before she got to me. If you must come here be advised of the treatment you may face. Id advise another hospital … Cedar park or south seem to be a lot nicer when Caring of patients And Well worth the drive !

I’m never happy with ARC the business. The doctors I see with ARC are amazing, 5 stars for the doctors, but the office and billing staff at ARC are so frustrating.
The wait is always too long, making the correct appointment is like pulling teeth, and they always bill my insurance incorrectly. I came in for blood work, only lab work and no physical, and they billed my insurance for an annual. When I called to contest it they said it was fine because I wasn’t charged. That’s insurance fraud… Plus you only get one covered annual a year and I hadn’t had one yet so they were also denying me care. It took weeks to resolve.
And yet I keep coming back because I have a complicated medical history and its a pain with new doctors.

While the staff is very courteous, I am deeply disappointed with the amount of time I’ve had to wait both instances I’ve had an appointment here.
The second time, I had to ask the front desk staff why it’s taking twenty minutes to be called back after pretty much everyone who checked in after me was called. I was hustled over to an exam room where I am waiting over half an hour for the doctor to show up, mind you, this is on top of the time waiting in the lobby.
Now I’m worried about getting back to work on time, definitely won’t have time to eat lunch, so I’m frustrated and displeased. I’ll look to see what other providers my insurance will accept.

Went in for my annual woman well-​check. I arrived on time, completed paperwork, and was called back shortly, within 5 minutes. The NP that did my exam was friendly and made me feel comfortable, and actually spent time getting to know me as a patient.
I was in and out of the office in 45 minutes, which is incredible! Usually that’s the average time just sitting waiting around. I like that they run things on time, highly unusual for any Dr’s office! I think I’ve found my new lady doctor! :)

Not a fan of this clinic, only came here because the ER doctor that did my procedure at Seton Northwest Hospital practices here and requested I follow up with her here. My follow up felt rushed by the doctor, Dr. Chalasani and she was condescending when I asked specific questions about my care. I spoke to a nurse the next day and was told I needed follow up blood work. I specifically asked if I needed an appointment and she said no, just come in anytime. I live down south but happen to work at Seton Northwest only on Thursdays. So I came into the clinic during a quick work break and was told that I needed an appointment and that Dr. Chalasani did not put in orders for the lab work. So now I’m sitting here waiting for them to find the doctor just to put in the orders that she should have put in last week. Highly frustrating.

Never in my life have I ever been so displeased in the staff, professionalism and just basic common manners. I first had an IUD placed by Dr. Colleen Enos back in December 2014. Since the implantation I had been having severe cramps through out the day and especially during intimacy. In my follow up, it was found that not only is my uterus too small for an IUD but that both arms had punctured each side of my uterus walls causing a very large cyst.
Most people would’ve have probably sued ARC for malpractice however I try to have a more positive outlook and give them the chance to fix it and make me healthier. However after today my patience is at the end.
Originally I wanted to have Ortho Tri-​cyclen Lo, which is what I agreed to with Dr. Sweeton. However when I noticed that I wasn’t receiving OTC but the generic brand I asked them to switch it. It is now time for me to refill my bc. I requested the refill through their portal. Shortly after, Nurse Monica responds telling me before they can provide me a refill I must come in for a blood pressure checkup. I found this odd seeing as Dr. Sweeton never said I had any issues with my BP and it was never an issue before. I asked her why of course and which she then replied «I just spoke with your provider and we can go ahead and refill your rx.» Ooooookay.
After I pick up my bc, I find that not only am I being charged for my bc (which was free the past two times both generic and OTC) but it is the freakin generic brand! *FACEPALMS* Hoping to call and get this resolved before five, giving them a 2 hour and 30 minute window. I explain my situation, while the receptionist repeats «it doesn’t say we prescribed you OTC»…OBVIOUSLY OR ELSE I WOULDN’T BE CALLING YOU! As I try to remain calm and professional I ask her to please look into it with the doctor. 40 minutes goes by and no phone call or email. 4:43 I call back and reach the same receptionist Suzanne and ask if she heard any feedback as it’s getting close to closing time. I ask her is there a way I can call back to see if there is any status. Rudely, she responds I can’t call back and that it may be after hours by the time the dr. responds. Normally I would be fine waiting but it’s been 3 days and I requested my refill 2 days ago and just yesterday got feed back. Now sitting with the wrong bc and no OTC. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE AMATEURS THAT CALL THEMSELVES PROFESSIONALS!!!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Yoo since 2012. When I first started seeing her, she was friendly, personable, and professional. I went for my yearly December 2014, and I told her I wanted to get an IUD put in because my fiancé and I did not want children. Everything changed after I told her that. She ran down the list of risks and possible side effects with the IUD, which I understood. I told her I eventually wanted to get my tubes tied (but not yet) and she said that it’s not that she doesn’t believe me, because she does (or so she says), but because people my age tend to change their mind and that makes them (the doctors) nervous. Ooookay then. I went in for the IUD yesterday, and the entire time I felt like she was trying to talk me out of it, but went ahead anyway. But, it was not to be, as I almost passed out when she hit a nerve trying to get me prepped for the IUD insertion. Okay, I get that. But I honestly feel like she isn’t taking me seriously with my decision, which sucks because she is a decent doctor. Oh well.

It’s like a cattle call there. The staff is less than friendly, the waiting room is over-​crowded and uncomfortable, and Dr. Swati Date is not personable at all and literally does not speak unless you ask her a question. Shouldn’t the Dr be asking the questions? I felt that my Dr visit was a waste of my time and money and was left feeling very upset. ARC has gone way downhill.

I’ve been a patient of the Austin Regional Clinic for about 12 years, and have seen several doctors in various specialties. While most of them are excellent, I am very disappointed by the manner in which I have been treated by Dr. Renu Chalasani. I do have to say that she is intelligent and knowledgeable in her field of expertise, but I need and expect more than that from my doctor. I would generally wait extraordinarily long for an appointment, and when she finally showed up, she rushed in and rushed out every time. She seemed too busy and almost annoyed. Maybe my case wasn’t as complicated or interesting, but I felt like I was wasting her time. Her manner and tone was condescending, and I frankly got tired of feeling like she didn’t want to have to spend her time with me as her patient. She literally told me once that I didn’t know what I was talking about. Professional? I think not!
I saw her on several visits, trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but it never changed. I have since found another gynecologist, but I continue to use Austin Regional Clinic for my primary care physician, the best doctor anywhere, Dr. Michelle Markley.

I give this review because of the Nurses (at least the ones that answer the phones) are horrible. I have talked to a select few that were amazing but like I said it is a select few. I am mainly referring to the OB/​GYN nurses.
They never call you back when they say they will, I have been hung up on, and I was told by a nurse to ignore what the last one told me because she didn’t know the protocol. REALLY?! Trust me I could type forever if I wanted to.
It really is a shame because I do love my Dr.

I had surgery by Sonja Yoo and Dr. Soloman… First, Dr. Yoo took 3 different visits to finally address my pain, upon the last visit where she finally ran a blood test and ultra sound, her reaction was «get into the ER or you might die»…the cyst ruptured inside of me which has resulted in 2 other surgeries and other complications. Soloman wanted nothing to do with the mess, I saw him when I went to the ER the second time because I couldn’t breathe and asked him to please come to my room, I never saw that man again. I really, really suggest any woman seek care outside of this facility, I also had another Dr, Dr. BG take over after Dr. Yoo and Soloman’s mess, she was scared and took orders from my GP, who is not an OBGYN. I finally had the issue resolved at another company. After seeking various expert opinions, I found out that «ARC is the bottom of the barrell.» This is issue will be addressed in a more formal way, but I did want the public to know that this place is very VERY dangerous, beware, I almost lost my life… I did end up losing my ovary and will have chronic abdominal pain from these ridiculous people for the rest of my life.

I went in for an x-​ray of my hand. Although the waiting room was crowded, I was seen not just on time, but early, and the staff was knowledgeable and courteous and very professional. I got in and out in very little time, and was very satisfied with my experience there.

I can’t remember what I went here for but it was something routine. The doctor gave me the impression that I was wasting her time, she didn’t even try to diagnose my problem, I was literally in and out in less than a minute because I guess she thought she had better things to do.

Dear Austin Regional Clinic. How I love to loath thee…
–1 star: Misdiagnosing my step-daughter’s ear pain. It was a burst ear drum you idiots.
–1 star: For sending a payment to collections that has already been paid. Seriously. Your billing department needs to get their crap together.
–1 star: For Dr. What’s His Face, who spent all of 32 seconds with me for a serious condition, hastily wrote a prescription, and literally ran to his next patient.
If you have a great doctor that you love, then this place is bearable. However, avoid getting a random on-​call doctor or someone you don’t know. As my daughter’s ruptured ear drum can attest, you may get someone who may put your life at risk.

The four best things about Dr. Hughes:
1. He is prompt. Our appointments always start on time, and I’m never there longer than I have to be.
2. He is kind and very gentle. The speculum sucks, but Dr. Hughes makes the best of a terrible situation. Let’s just say, he’s fast! :)
3. He’s a natural conversationalist — so natural, I can almost forget that I’m being examined. ALMOST.
4. He’s Rick Bayless’ doppelgänger. If you trust Rick Bayless’ food, you can trust Dr. Hughes. It makes total sense.

Bummer about the negative experience, Tee D… I have had only positive gyno exams with Dr. Colleen Enos at this location. As well, the front desk staff was super helpful with helping me navigate my health insurance plan.
It is a schlep if you don’t live up north, but well worth it if you can get an appointment with Dr. Enos!
