Had the worst experience of my life as far as doctor visits go here. I was told on the phone before making my appointment that I could come here to refill my prescription and be seen for my disorder as well. When I get to the office I was told by the doctor that he does not prescribe the medicine that I take nor does he treat the disorder that I have after I was told by the receptionist that it would not be a problem. After wasting my time they still sent me a very large bill even tho no services were rendered. This doctors office is a disgrace to the entire medical industry!

I have been seeing dr Bermudez on and off for a couple years. Today I went in for a chronic illness that he has been aware of for quite sometime, he comes in the room, does not ask any of my symptoms or what exactly brought me in today. He quickly jumped to an outlandish diagnosis and hurried me out the door. Along with the horrible bedside manner he failed to fill my prescription without giving me a reason.
I called back in to talk to the Patient Relations, Robin, she very kind but she wasn’t understanding of what I was trying to say. «Well in the notes he put» I DONT CARE WHAT HE PUT IT THE NOTES HE GAVE ME A MISDIAGNOSIS TO MY FACE. This incorrect information will forever be in my medical records.
Due to his lack of concern and intake of information/​symptoms I will be taking my business elsewhere.

This review is solely for their billing department and reception/​appointment staff. They are HORRIBLE. It doesn’t matter how good the doctor is, this will ruin your experience.
APPOINTMENTS: You will be on hold for a MINIMUM of 10 to 15 minutes (most likely twice that) just to get the answer to a simple question/​make an appointment/​talk to a nurse. Almost every appointment I’ve ever made at this place had to be rescheduled, and then they tell you that the soonest they have is some time WEEKS or MONTHS from your original scheduled appointment.
The billing department is horrendous. You can call a 1 – 800 number to talk to some hired person in India/​at an outsourced company that knows NOTHING and can do nothing to help you. You can try to get to someone in their local billing department (even longer hold times) and then most likely get some uneducated person that can’t explain anything/doesn’t know what’s going on, or if you want to speak to a manager/​supervisor, you can leave a voicemail and hope they get around to calling you back.
I was sent a bill in error for services I never received. When i called the 1 – 800 number they said there’s nothing they can do about it, I have to call the actual office. I try calling the actual office and they want me to send NOTARIZED DOCUMENTATION that it wasn’t me/​I shouldn’t be billed. I asked them to send documentation that I ever signed up to be billed for these services/​by ARC. I’m currently still waiting for a manager to call me.

Dr. Hope Folarin and the entire office is fantastic. They are empathetic to my needs as a human being and deliver effective medicine. Abraham is awesome and also very caring and everyone there is extremely friendly. I have never felt more at home with any other physicians office. I look forward to having a lasting relationship with this office.

I had to make an appointment to see the doctor to get a referral to a specialist, not sure why this was required, as I had seen this MD before. I arrived at 1020 for an appointment at 1025, was called back to the exam room at 1050, so I could have my vital signs taken. My doctor/​NP didn’t see me until 10:57. Staff was friendly. My only gripe is the long wait times-it’s so frustrating to take time off work to sit and wait.

I see Dr. Liu and she is fantastic. I am always impressed with her expertise relating to all of my issues.
As for the office, I have gotten in last minute for minor emergencies, and if Dr. Liu is not available, they get me in to see someone else. I rarely wait very long at all.
I really like the electronic system where I can email about appointments or follow up questions. For some reason, it is much easier for me send an electronic message than make a phone call.

Dr. Ward is amazing! He takes his time with my daughter and actually cares about his patients. Even when he’s fully booked he will fit us in when urgent!

Dr. Norris is fantastic. He’s been my family practitioner for 10 years. In the end, that’s what matters, getting quality healthcare.
However, I strongly dislike dealing with the front desk, it doesn’t matter which ARC I visit. The front desk always treat you like you’re inconveniencing them. They don’t do anything to make you feel welcome. It doesn’t seem the clerks don’t realize how much you’re paying for healthcare and might expect good customer service. You feel more like cattle they’re pushing through their office than human beings.

Worst experience. I explained my illness, sore throat, upset stomach, bad fever. They tested me for strep and the flu, told me they’re too busy. Ended up being treated with cough suppressants and told I may have a sinus infection? Plus they forgot to give me a doctors note I asked for, when I came to retrieve it after calling, they had no idea what I was talking about. Treated poorly by front desk. I love the ARC off Far West. I will NEVER go to this location ever again. These people couldn’t care less. Disgusting.

Dr Sanchez is the worst Doctor ever! If you have to go to ARC then see one of their other doctors. Dr Sanchez is incredibly rude and unprofessional and I honestly do not see how she is even allowed to practice medicine. She snapped at me for asking additional questions that were not the reason for my appointment. And, instead of giving me the test results she sends me a message on their portal to go see another doctor with zero explanation or what had come of the results. Ridiculous! She is just awful!

This is our go to clinic organization and has been for years. When we are in a jam, particularly with all the insurance code changes being made, and insurance changes, it does get worked out. Just don’t wait until an emergency happens. Verify insurance info at the first of the year and take care of your family. We have been extremely pleased with the doctors here. Note that there are two buildings in the same area! Family practice and X-​Ray in one, Specialists in another.

Dr. Hope Folarin is the only reason I keep coming back. She is amazing, intuitive and truly cares about her patients. She’s taken her time, time and again, from when I’ve had simple cedar fever, to larger health scares like pleurisy and my often chronic problem with my sciatica. She is always calm, assertive and knows the best course of action for me.

I will not be back to see Samantha Newbould. She was the most impersonal human I have ever been around. I went to see her due to fever, sore throat and coughing. She came in checked me our for MAYBE 3 minutes she swabbed my throat and said she would run a strep test and would call me with my results. It ended up I didn’t have strep but I found that out via the email they sent me instead of a phone call. I mean I spent $ 25.00 on a copay for her to swab my throat to run a strep test, I could have seen a nurse for that! Ridiculous! Will find a family doctor elsewhere in Austin.

It was my first visit as a new patient and I have to say I was impressed. I called in to make an appointment for a semi-​urgent matter. They scheduled me to come in the next morning, took my insurance information over the phone, when I showed up in the morning it took 2 minutes to check in. Then I was taken in EXACTLY at 10:30 as my appointment was scheduled for. I can’t remember when was the last time I saw a doctor that was not running late. Maybe never.
Dr. Bermudez was great. Very personable and pleasant, quickly determined that my conditioned needed referral to a specialist. Not only he gave me a recommendation, but actually had his nurse quickly call in the specialist to book me the same day. Two hours later I was meeting with a specialist at ARC’s other location and likewise I was very impressed how professional and friendly everyone was. I definitely recommend the clinic.

They were amazing! I was a new patient, the people on the phone were friendly and got me in for an appointment that day. It only cost me $ 20 with insurance, I was seen by Dr. Bermudez immediately before I had time to fill out my medical history. The nurse told me exactly what she was doing and was efficient. I was treated with great care and Dr. Bermudez had me participating in my tests, like holding the light, opening the throat swab package, it was fun. They were kind and I am so happy I finally found a doctor I like here in Austin!

Actually, I had generally good experiences with ARC, particularly with Dr. David Weeks. Since I’m gay, it’s particularly important for me to feel comfortable working with a doctor who is comfortable working with gays. Dr. Weeks is very good, and he has no problems with gay people or working with the issues which face middle-​age gay people.
That said: there were times when Dr. Weeks wasn’t available and I was seen by other doctors, who tried to prescribe medication to which I have severe allergies. As is true with any medical provider, one is responsible for catching stuff like this and making the provider aware of allergies, medications we’re taking and possible interactions, etc.
One of the other doctors was rather rude, and I simply called him out on that. When he did that, he changed his tone with me immediately. Again, when we have problems it’s up to US to make the provider aware of problems.
Other than that — I had very good experiences.

Well, I had a horrible experience with a doctor in May. She treated me horrible, left me crying, and made me feel like she just wanted to get me out of her office. Her name was Dr. Gaur. I have NEVER been treated like that in my entire life. I actually contacted ARC, was able to let it go, and got a refund of my copay. I promised I would delete my review and give them another shot… Until now.
Three months later, I get a bill in the mail for $ 191 for lab work. That’s nice they want to bill me for lab work, but the only reason I got lab work was because Dr. Gaur pushed me out of her office at 4:50 so she could leave for the day and sent me over to the OBGYN department. Even when I got to the OBGYN department, they didn’t know I was there and said everything was fine. They even didn’t perform all of the tests on me that she insisted because they said everything looked good. So now I had my copay refunded, but I am still dealing with this nightmare three months later?! I wrote them on their website, asking someone to contact me. One week later, NOTHING! This isn’t very customer service like. If they don’t refund this lab work from this nightmare of an experience I had with Dr. Gaur, I will continue to tell everyone how I was treated and make sure people don’t go to ARC unless they want to be belittled by a doctor who will make them cry the second they leave the office; with no diagnosis.

I had a good experience my first time going to Austin Regional Clinic. However last week I woke up with a fever and called to get an appointment that day as I needed to miss work. After waiting on hold for 5 minutes or so I finally got an appointment for 8:30 that day. Great, so I show up and check-​in at the desk only to be informed the receptionist had made my appointment for 8:30am the next day. The soonest they could get me in would be 3:30pm that day. I have to admit I was a little annoyed because I took the time to drive up there with the expectation I’d be seen in the morning. So I told the woman to cancel my appointment for the next day and I went to another walk-​in clinic.
Yesterday I received what I would call a «fairly passive aggressive» letter saying that in the future I need to cancel my schedule appointments in advance next time. So in summary I called to make an appointment, they scheduled it for the wrong day, upon showing up I asked them to cancel it, then they send me a letter indicating it was never actually canceled.
All in all I just don’t feel confident in the administration system at all, and its become more apparent to me that they are really only interested in getting as many people in and out the door as possible.

They are real big on how important it is to stay on your BP meds, but when I lost my insurance and could no longer afford an office visit, they could care less. I called in and asked them to renew my meds for as far out as possible (due to my not seeing my self having healthcare in the near future) they gave me a script for ten days and wished me luck. When did they update the Hippocratic oath to exclude us poor folk?
Shame on you Dr Perez.
