We built a new house in July 2015. It was recommended to install gutters.
After researching on Unilocal we decided to go with them!
Kevin the sales consultant was very professional and friendly. He told us they couldn’t install the gutter until February 2015! at my surprise we got a call this week (month early) and our gutters are up.
Travis did a fantastic job, they look beautiful. Travis was very friendly and professional, he worked very hard and to my surprise didn’t take him long!
Now we are waiting for some rain

I’m super disappointed. I’m having a new home built and requested an estimate. I took time away from work and met the sales person at my new house which is definitely «out of the way.» He was nice, but he definitely had a scripted sales speech that he clearly didn’t want to deviate from which is in general a little bit of a turn off. He stated that we would have our estimate within a couple of business days.
I was honestly excited to get our estimate as I do want to have gutters installed in the relatively new future and have no clue as to what they will cost.
I received a follow up email which was clearly a «form letter» a few business days later which stated basically that I should let them know what they could do to earn my business. I replied asking for someone to follow up on my estimate and did not receive a reply or my estimate.
A few business days later, I sent an email to the «VP» of Austin Gutterman requesting follow-​up or my estimate and still have not received anything.
This company was too lazy to follow up with an estimate for some reason, I certainly wouldn’t trust them to install gutters which the salesperson disclosed would be about twice as expensive as other «lower quality» companies in town.

I have so much to say, but I’ll do my best to organize it. I’m also going to shorten Austin Gutterman to AGM to reduce my typing. If you read nothing more, I am thrilled with the job AGM did! We’ve had multiple showers since the job was complete and I am stunned at how well this addressed my flooding and other issues! It is almost a miracle and I can’t recommend AGM more highly.
Sidebar: I see the sales guy guilt trip reviews and I did not have that experience. I put the job on hold after getting quotes because of an unexpected vet bill of $ 5k. AGM never bothered me and I came back on my own once finances allowed… almost a year later.
Problem: My house is 16 years old and still only has the few gutters installed by the builder so I was having big flooding problems, even with just a little rain. Some of the existing gutters were tipping slightly out of line so I had water getting behind them and causing staining and other issues.
Initial Interaction: After getting quotes from 4 highly rated companies I selected AGM because John Richter answered every question in a realistic way, offered solid recommendations even if they were counter to what I’d been thinking and clearly explained things where other companies were contradicting each other. He never pushed or pressured me and when I explained I was on a budget he gave me options with cost differences so I could make informed decisions.
I was also considering a rainwater collection barrel and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with that. What really impressed me was that John was the only one who completed the quote WITH me, on the spot, explaining each entry as me made it so I could ask questions and I knew exactly what was quoted and why. Also, I have no color sense so I left it to John to pick the right color (there was no exact match with my house) and he picked the perfect color… the gutters blend perfectly!
Cost: Budget was a big deal to me and AGM was not the lowest price, but after talking to John I felt strongly that they would do the best job, understood my problems, and had the clearest solution. So I put off the rainwater collection in favor of selecting AGM and now that the job is done I’m happy with my decision.
The Job: Everyone who showed up was personable, professional and most importantly, knew their stuff! Though I don’t know gutters, I consulted a neighbor along the way to double check some things and not only did he agree with AGM, but he asked me for their contact info to get a quote for his house.
The job was spec’d at 3 days (remove old gutters, repair wood/​flashing as needed, install new gutters). I was talking to them at 8pm the night before repair and they had meetings after talking to me. The result was that they consolidated the last 2 days into 1 because we were expecting rain and they wanted to get my house done before it hit… I was very happy to have the job completed early.
During the install one of the guys noticed something they could do differently since I’d decided to delay the rain collection system. I loved that the installers were thinking about how to best implement the job and took the time to suggest changes (at no extra cost in this case) that would make the gutters look better with my house. We made the changes on the spot, he wrote up a $ 0 change order so it was documented and they implemented it… wonderful!
Cons: There was only one issue and it’s easily avoided with this heads up from me. Since I was getting quotes from multiple vendors I only gave them my home number. I now know I should have given them my cell so it was in my file.
I insisted on being home while they were working (not necessary, but turned out to be beneficial so I highly recommend it) so I had to schedule specific days so I could work from home. The schedule was almost blown multiple times because I simply could not get anyone in the office to call my cell. I left VMs, sent emails and every time I replied to the scheduling team I gave them my cell and asked them to use it instead of the number in my file… very frustrating, but small in the grand scheme. They’d leave me time sensitive messages needing a reply that day and I’d get the message after work when AGM was closed. The only reason we stayed on schedule was thanks to the amazing crews who worked into the evening to get things back on track. LOVED THEM! Again… very small issue and easily avoided, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

If you want to deal with an honest and knowledgeable consultant, be sure to ask for John at Austin Gutter Man. Although they were unable to meet our price point, John was very helpful and tried to make it work. It was a pleasure dealing with them, even though we didn’t make a deal! :0)

I’ve got two things to say about gutter installations:
1. If you don’t have gutters on your home; have them installed! Gutters will save your home from unsightly staining of the façade from rain water containing asphalt material of the shingles (ask me how I know) and potential damage to the slab from uneven water runoff from the roof.
2. If you are building a spec home, don’t elect to have the builder install gutters as it costs about 50% more than using a locally owned independent gutter company. In my case I saved over $ 1500.00 by contracting with Austin Gutter Man, Inc. after my home was completed.
With that said, I had three bids for gutters on my house, all of which were very competitive (but always beware of the lowest bidder and two companies never returned by phone calls). AGM presented me with four great options for gutters based upon the longevity I expect to keep my house (from a 20 year warranty to a life time warranty). I decided to contract with AGM because they were referred to me by my good friend, Bob Cole, at KOKE FM radio in Austin, Texas. AGM is a «trusted partner» of KOKE FM’s which denotes that they will only endorse and advertise for locally owned Austin companies that have a proven track record of good business practices.
Kevin Stamnitz, was the sales consultant, that showed up (on time) and walked me through the installation process. After meeting Kevin within five minutes it was just like talking to an old friend that I’ve known all of my life. Turns out, Kevin’s late father was a renowned pedal steel guitar player here in Texas that played with some of country music’s greatest country singers.
I sent AGM a deposit for 50% of the contract price (which is normal); beware of doing this for companies that are not locally owned of which AGM is one (1) of only about three (3) in Central Texas. AGM contacted me about a week earlier than the tentative installation week and the installation crew arrived within an hour of the time AGM said they would despite the massive traffic delays in Austin due to the president being in town. The installation crew was professional, courteous, and had the job completed flawlessly in about two hours.
Bottom line for AGM; the process was smooth from the online request form to schedule a quote to installation. It’s unfortunate that many service oriented companies don’t offer the level of exceptional customer service like AGM does!

I had the same experience as Shelly K! Also about a year ago, I researched several companies to put new gutters on our home. The sales pitch, follow up, and question answering was wonderful until I indicated I was going with a different company. The sales guy tried to guilt trip me, mentioning he had a newborn baby and how the loss of a sale would affect it, it was completely unprofessional. I ended up having to threaten him with calling a supervisor if he didn’t stop bothering me.
Now I’m in the market for gutter cleaning service and because of this previous experience, I will not be using Austin Gutterman.

If anyone around here were to ask me if I knew anything about gutters, I would tell them to seek out John at Austin Gutterman. The service was fantastic, the quality of the product is outstanding, and the installation was hassle-​free. We dragged our feet for a long time after we first met with John, but when we were ready (we had to get our rain barrel collection system pre-​certified and installed — amongst other things) — John took the time to answer all our last minute questions (pertaining to the first flush system from the gutter to the rain barrels). What a great guy and now we have a superior gutter system in place.

RAINWATER COLLECTION. Troy is great. Where do you collect your rainwater? From your gutters! Troy did a great job installing a complete 5,000 gallon system from the roof to our collection tanks. He then ran a water line from the tanks to the garden. We have used Austin Gutterman for years and they have never disappointed us.

Good price. Great value. Kyle was all pro and did a professional job! The job was a 1 man job but his manager was still onsite to ensure the finish product was up to my high standards. I recommend these guys. Highly recommend the aluminum 6″ round and downspouts! Real cool gutter system.

I was sad to read some of the other reviews as we had a great experience with Austin Gutterman. From the sales process to the final installation, the company was respectful, professional, on-​time and on-​budget. The gutters themselves are fantastic. The sales person helped us pick the right size and product for us and now with all of the rain we’ve been getting, they are a godsend. They had the colors we needed to almost blend exactly with our trim. I was also shocked at how quickly one guy was able to take care of our entire house.
I would definitely recommend this company.

I had gutters installed a while back and added a rainbarrel. These guys did a great job and I am very pleased with all the work. Plus, I ran into a problem with my rainbarrel leaking. It took me a while to get around to contacting them, and frankly I thought so much time had past that they would tell me I’m stuck. They got right on it and I had a new rainbarrel installed a few days later. Thanks Austin Gutterman. Definitely will recommend and use again.

I was overwhelmed with researching gutters and ended up decided to talk to the 2 biggest Austin gutter companies. Austin Guttermann was professional in their meeting with me, and even emailed me a picture of the sales person that I initially met with. The presentations of Guttermann and their competitor were similar so I went with price of the level that I wanted. Unfortunately, that wasn’t AGM.
I wanted to post 2 stars to Guttermann because until the point of «thanks but no thanks,» the Gutterman sales rep was very professional. Upon the rejection, the tone changed. He bashed the competitor and told me I shouldn’t trust him. He was also asking about exact cost and tried to say the competitor was going to do an aweful job. Although I’m sure I would have been happy with Guttermann, I am glad I didn’t go with them because of their poor sportsmanship.
I should also comment that this occurred a year ago. I’m just now catching up on my Unilocal reviews. Since I used Unilocal to look up Guttermann & competitor, I wanted to post my opinion for new gutter-​goers.

During the recent, (and only) downpour we realized that our gutters could use some TLC. We looked on Angie’s List and found that Austin Gutterman, Inc. had a half off coupon for a gutter cleaning. So, after reading the great reviews, we went ahead and bought the coupon.
I called up the office and was scheduled for an appointment just a few days away — I thought I’d be left waiting for a while considering the popularity of the coupon, but nope!
Today Mike came out and cleaned out our gutters — he’s a really cool guy to talk to and incredibly insightful and helpful. He told me about the status of my gutters, made suggestions regarding their longevity in their current state, and made recommendations. He even went *above and beyond* by blowing off the debris that had accumulated on the roof of our porch, and to my surprise when I went out there, I found he had blown all the leaves off our porch as well. That’s outstanding service right there, folks.
He ended the service call by giving me a detailed inspection report, and an estimate for the work he recommended we have done. I’m not sure if we’ll have the work done or not — but if we do, we will definitely go to Austin Gutterman, and recommend them to others. Thanks guys!

I’m torn — terrible terrible sales process with degrading salesman who kept calling me «honey» — but on the flipside, they had an impeccable installation tech. Because I felt like taking a shower after the entire process, I regret not choosing Austin Gutter King.

I’m mildly surprised these guys dont have any reviews yet… I guess Ill be the first.
I had the sales guy out to the house to do detailed measurements; he was overly friendly and was able to answer just about every question that I threw at him about the gutter install. He came out a 2^nd time when I was making adjustments to the quotation after having some time to think about it. Again, he was super friendly and we came to a price that was «a go.»
I had three sides of the house done with ½ round galv seamless gutters which terminated into an underground french drain that I had to construct prior to their install. (their prices for this were quite high so I did it myself) The service people who came out did a good job on the install, one of the few installs on a home where I didnt come back noticing some nit crap that pissed me off, which is a high bar for them to go over. Bravo.
About a month or so into owning the gutters, we had some minor water pooling in one of them; they were quick to come back over to the house and make adjustments which got rid of that problem.
Overall, the gutters have been on the house for about 6 or so months now. Although it really hasnt rained in the past month — they sure have held up to the huge downpours and vast amounts of water which flow from our metal roof.
I would recommend this company to anyone who’s going for a higher end gutter setup at their home.
