Austin Detailing specializes in eco-​friendly water-​less detailing services in and around the Austin area. We provide both mobile and on site detailing services for all types of vehicles including boats, RV’s, motorcycles, and fleet vehicles.

Due to the extreme drought in the Austin area, we are offering waterless car cleaning services as a substitution to the traditional car wash methods on all of our detail packages. Our waterless exterior wash utilizes special products and techniques allowing us to effectively clean the exterior of your vehicle with zero waste water. Our waterless methods comply with the stage 2 water restriction that is to be enforced on Sept 6, 2011. We also offer auto detailing products that are environmentally friendly with the highest quality results.

Austin Detailing also provides high quality windshield repair services, ozone odor elimination treatments, headlight restoration, and paint restoration both mobile and on-​site.

I arrived at their office a short while ago to ask for a quote and I find the location closed during business hours. Okay fair enough, maybe they are out for lunch or something. I am heading back to my car and the garage door opens, an employee walks out and I approach him. He ignores my existence, I ask «are you guys open?» to which he says to me «.no.» I hear a guy behind comment to the employees that they are in a hurry. The employee says to me «could you move?» What angers me is that I was simply ignored and tossed aside. Where is the professionalism? A simple «Sorry, but we cannot attend to you at this moment please come back at another time» would have gone a long way, but instead I was told to move without so much as any other kind of acknowledgement. I got the message, you don’t want my business.

I’ve never had my car detailed before, so I really don’t know what to compare it to. Given that it cost $ 120 to detail only the interior of my PriusC (for size comparison purposes), I had high expectations. I’m also pretty detail oriented about cleaning (especially when paying for it), so keep those things in mind as you read my review.
THE GOOD: I had bought my car from my sister (a dirty person), and she had left it pretty gross. The light grey cloth seats had tons of stains on them. They removed almost all of the stains. Awesome. They also cleaned out the cup containers so that I didn’t feel grossed out by touching them. They had been really sticky from coins and some kind of icky syrup. The floors were generally clean.
THE BAD: While overall it was good, I was really expecting no spot to be missed. But there were quite a few missed spots. There was still sand on the backs of my seats (my sister lived by the beach). That was clearly just an oversight because a vacuum would have easily fixed that. My seat belt latches were still very dirty, and that would have been fixed had someone noticed that. The hole between my buttons and the console also remained dirty. It looked as if the dirt had actually been pushed in. The floors weren’t «that» clean. I feel like a little more attention would have fixed it.
For paying as much as I did, I expected better. They might be better than the rest, but I have nothing to compare it to. I do know that I will try somewhere else when I get my car detailed next year.

Brian was super motivated to make our 10 year old pick up truck look showroom new again.
The transformation was amazing. After a false start with an employee/​detailer whose work was not up to his high standards, he personally stepped in to make things right.
We like to support locally owned business, and it is this attention to customer satisfaction
that will keep us going back, and also recommending the company to friends, family and
any one who asks.

UPDATE: After speaking with the owner about my concerns, he went out of his way to address all my issues. He came to my house on a Sunday and redid the entire interior and exterior himself. He was very apologetic and eager to fix all my issues, and I ended up getting more than my money’s worth. Despite my terrible initial impression, I was able to walk away happy and would definitely consider taking my car there again. It was tough having such a rough go, but I appreciate that the owner does care about making things right and about the service that his shop gives.
I took my car in for an exterior and interior detailing. After spending $ 220 and seeing great reviews on Unilocal,I expected that they would do a fantastic job. This was, however, not the case.
I dropped my car off at 10am, and I was told the car would be ready at 5:30pm. Around 3:00pm, I got a voicemail from Austin Detailing letting me know my car was ready, but they were going to close early, so I needed to give them 15 min notice when I was on my way so that someone would be there to get my car out of the garage. I called and gave 30 min notice, stating I would be there at 5:30pm (the original time agreed upon). I got there at 5:30pm on the dot, and then I sat outside in the heat and humidity for another 30 min before someone showed up to let me in. I gave the car a cursory look over — I would have looked more thoroughly, but I was already dying in the heat/​humidity — and found that: (1) they did not get all of the dog hair (black hair on tan seats) out, which was a primary reason for the detailing; (2) I had to put my own mats back in the car (minor thing, I know); (3) there were several missed spots on the exterior; and (4) and they had not cleaned the entire surface of the leather (dog prints on the top of the backseat).
I pointed out much of this to the (only) person who was there, and she took note and said she would let the owner know. She offered me the opportunity to bring it back the next day or during the week, but the next day was Fathers Day, I work during the week, and I had already gone out of my way and been without a car for a day so that this could get done. I was never contacted by the owner, and no discount or compensation was offered for the sloppy job and making me wait around outside for someone to let me get my car. This was not professional and not good service.

1 star for canceling on our appointed time AFTER I DROPPED IT OFF.
I called in 5 days ago and scheduled an appointment for today. I gave my credit card information and double checked on the time, which was Monday at 8am.
I showed up on time to the location and dragged a friend down so I could hitch a ride back to work. The guy that worked there seemed completely unorganized and did not even ask who I was or to fill out paper work or anything. So I told him I had an 8am appointment and dropped the car off of course.
I get a call at 8:20am saying they never even scheduled for my car to get cleaned today, and that it will be finished late (just at the end of the day). Which in all reality is not that big of a deal, so I squashed the minor annoyance and was fine with.
Get called at 2:30pm and they literally tell me they «don’t have time to clean it today and can give me a $ 30 discount for my next visit». Then I follow to ask if they can have it done by tomorrow instead, which the reply is the latest they can get to it is Friday.
It’s simple — you make a mistake, you fix it. Things happen and I totally get that, but the reason this review gets 1 star is because of the response to the mistake I was given. You don’t offer a $ 30 discount and move on, you offer a $ 30 discount AND fix your mistake. Complete incompetence. Highly recommend avoiding this shop on the chance you get an experience similar to mine.

We came to Austin for the weekend from Dallas. Without going into too much detail, we ended up with a pretty potent odor on the interior fabric of my brand new car (bought only 8 weeks earlier!) I was devastated! Brian was amazing from the moment we pulled in! So understanding, professional and personable. He assured me that he would kill the odor, not just mask it. He was extremely busy, him and his crew working on several cars that morning but he still found time to chat with us and make our experience extremely pleasant. My car smells brand new, and I couldn’t be happier! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a superior detailer who really knows his stuff!

Good job detailing my SUV. I recently bought a used Black SUV that had spent the previous four years baking in the brutal Texas sun. I wanted a thorough detail job on it, and that’s what Austin Detailing did. A crew of 5 (2 new employes were being trained) came to the house and knocked it out in about 2 hours. They asked me to come outside and take a look at it twice. I looked it over and found a few obvious items they overlooked. They quickly addressed those items. Then they said good bye, so I stepped outside to take a 3rd look, but they had already cleaned up and were in their car backing up, not allowing a chance for a third walk around. I found a couple of their towels inside my car and hollered at them. They stopped, jumped out to grab them, and on their way they went. My ‘new’ used SUV turned out nicely.
Overall, a good detailing job. I had some trouble spots they said they could have done a better job on at their shop. Having known that, I might have considered taking it over there. The crew, and Brian, the owner, were on time, very polite, and professional. I’ll likely use them again, but will save the $ 30 (fee for mobile detailing) and take it to their shop for a potentially more detailed deep clean.

Austin pollen gets EVERYWHERE— especially if you use your windows when ur AC is broken.
Brought the car to Austin Detailing & they did a great job!!!
Prices are definitely steep, $ 140 for interior detailing. Not something we can afford to do often… BUT they definitely got the job done.
They shampoo’d our cloth seats & carpets & cleaned the mats & every crevice of the car! They even took stuff out of the compartments so they could clean it out really well. It really looked like a brand new car on the inside when they were done. And the seats were dry when we picked up the car :) Nice!
Best part– no annoying smell!!! AKA no superflowery or chemical smells. It didn’t smell like overpowering deodorizer or cleaning solution that makes you cringe.
Brian is a really nice guy & walked through the whole car with us at the end to show us the work they did.
If I ever need an interior detailing again, I will come here– no doubt!
TIPS:
This place is HARD TO FIND!!! It’s not a separate building… it’s actually in a complex of brown business buildings & it’s a unit in the VERY BACK. So— look for the small street called Polaris Avenue– then drive to the end. Take a left into the business buildings & you should see Austin Detailing on the right.

I was referred to Austin Detailing by a colleague at work, and another colleague overheard our conversation and told me I should definitely not use Austin Detailing because they had to reschedule his appointment twice because they forgot some of their equipment at headquarters. I figured that his experience was a one-​off, so I chose to set up a Super Boss appointment for Thursday at 1:30.
At 1:40, Austin Detailing still hadn’t shown up, so I called the coordinator to find out where they were. She didn’t know and she’d call them to find out. At 1:44, she called me back to tell me they were stuck in traffic and would be there in 15 minutes. At 1:49, she called me again to tell me they had forgotten equipment at headquarters and would be there at 2:30. I told her I had a meeting from 2 to 3 and wouldn’t be able to be in the parking lot until 3:00. She said that would be fine. I asked her how long the Super Boss takes, and she said 3 – 3.5 hours. I told her that I wouldn’t be able to stick around until 6 or 6:30 as I had plans at 5:30. I asked her when the next available appoint was, and she said not until Sunday.
Throughout this exchange, the coordinator had an unhelpful and unapologetic tone, so when I heard that the next available appointment wasn’t until Sunday and no concessions were offered, I decided I didn’t want to work with Austin Detailing anymore.
To recap:
1.Crews are late. Life happens. Call me at 1:30 if the crew is going to be late. Don’t make me call you ten minutes after the appointment to find out what’s going on.
2.Crews are late, but being an hour late is excessive.
3.Understand why the crew is going to be late the first time and communicate that reason and timeline to me. Don’t call me up twice within five minutes with different reasons and timelines.
4.When telling me that the next first available appointment isn’t until Sunday after completely blowing my appointment, be apologetic and find a way to offer a concession.

Couldn’t be happier with the detailing job and customer service of this franchise. They were able to fulfill my order while I worked blocks away and came home to a clean car.
4 stars not 5 only because I did have some phone tag arranging an appointment and in later communication, but the employees were extremely helpful and attentive when we did communicate. Will absolutely use again. I also thought the price was better than inferior detailing I paid more for in other cities.

I am in love.
After reading the Unilocal reviews, I decided to splurge and contacted Austin Detailing. They didn’t answer the phone on the first attempt, but they ended up calling me back right away. Brian called and gave me all the details about the different packages and options, and I went for *all* of it. They were able to fit me in on relatively short notice.
The day of the detail (which was yesterday, for the record), I dropped off my car into their single bay shop, gave the team a rundown of the problems and gotchas about the car, and they got right to work. Brian took me to work, which was very nice of him. Throughout the day, Brian sent me updates on the progress and even sent pictures while I was at work and gave estimates of time remaining. He gave me his personal cell number to use during the day and if anything comes up later with the car. Since I had all of the packages including the opticoat, the total process took the team from 8AM to 6PM.
The time commitment *really* shows. The car looks BETTER than when it was delivered. Only exception was an area where I ‘curbed’ my car right after I got it from the dealer and scratched the rocker panel up badly. The team was able to buff out most of it made it almost unnoticeable! The rocker panel would cost around 300 to replace and install, so I am very happy with the results.
There were only a few hiccups though, but nothing big. The warranty paperwork wasn’t available yet, and the floormats weren’t ready yet. That is OK, because they is going to drop all of that off at my work first thing in the morning which is really thoughtful of them.
At the end of the detail, Brian picked me back up from work. When we got there, they showed me around the car and pointed out any things to watch out for and to explain everything they did. The car was flawless inside and out.
The price might seem a bit high for some, but I wouldn’t hesitate getting any of the services done again. The opticoat is extremely pricey, but it is SO worth it. It is basically a «permanent wax». I had it applied to every surface including the rims (huge reduction in sticky brake dust!), windows (the sleet last night just ‘fell off’ the window while I was driving), and the body of the car. It was quite wet from the drive home in the sleet, so I parked it in the garage. This morning I woke up, and the rain was completely gone and there was *no* water residue in site. Looked exactly the same as the night before.

Brian and his team were very pleasant, and the work they performed was outstanding. My wife’s van was in dire need of some love and when I got there I saw a new car… the kids had abused the interior of the car so bad with smears, spills and smudges… all gone. The leather was nice and clean, the dash flawless, the outside paint shining and the headlights were sparkling… I got a new car for a bargain.
I will definitely use these guys again.

This place probably is the best detailing service I had for a long time. If you need a detailing, please go to this place and ask for Brian or Austin. They know what they are talking about and what they are doing. My vehicle is crystal clean and I love it. They even explained me in details via notes to let me know what’s up. Since writing my initial review, Brian reached out to me personally to reconcile the situation. He apologized for the lack of communication — it turns out that their email system was having issues and he was not able to send or receive the instructions. The new system is now in place and I received the instructions.
Even more, Brian texted me to come in for a complimentary inside and outside wash up. I appreciated his professionalism and sincere apology.
Like I stated in my initial review, I really like these guys. They’re pros. I’m happy they were thoughtful about what I had written and made effort to keep me as a loyal customer. They succeeded in doing that and I’d happily go back to give them more business.

Scheduling with Laura was easy she was extremely helpful with setting an appointment to fit my schedule.
All of the other detailing businesses I called to set up an appointment were completely backlogged for months mainly due to the fact they are the only person in their business. This business has flexibility of coming to you and plenty of staff to match.
However, I took my car into the shop to have it detailed. As soon as I put my keys in their hands they got to work which is important to me with my busy schedule. Brian the owner introduced himself and he rocks! He offered advice to maintain my car and let me know if I have any questions he is always available.
You can really tell Brian works hard to run his business and has a real eye for detail. I watched him work side by side with an employee and he made sure everything was ideal. When they were finished with my car it was immaculate. He is definitely a perfectionist and that combined with his hard work and professionalism will have me returning again.

I cannot say enough good things about Austin Detailing — they were prompt, professional, and did a great job.
I called to make and appointment and got really lucky as they had just had a cancelation for the next day. They arrived right on time and just simply asked me move my car out into the drive way so they could have plenty of room to work. They worked on my car for over 3.5 hours and it was so sparkly when they were finally done.
The owner ended up dropping by just before they were finished just to make sure I was satisfied with the work, even said if I noticed something they missed to just give him a call and he would fix it (of course I did not). Pricing was reasonable, although I was not sure if tipping was normal or not so I did leave a tip.
Will use again!

Austin Detailing did an AMAZING job on my car. I did «The Boss Package» and it was well worth it. Brian owns the business and he is very friendly and helpful! He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to auto detailing. Recently, I bought a used 2008 Honda Accord which I don’t think was ever detailed by the previous owner so I was nervous there was permanent damage. However, the exterior and interior of my car came back to me in impeccable shape. I could tell Austin Detailing took their time to clean my car, and I greatly appreciate that.
I took my car to another detailing place to have my headlights restored and they told me they could not be restored at all. After Austin Detailing worked on my car they were able to clean most of it, and I was shocked. My headlights are severely worn down so I will have to go back to have them completely restored for $ 90, but I’m amazed they can even be restored at all. Brian told me the paint on my car was borderline about to be permanently damaged from the oxidation of the sun, and thankfully they were able to restore it and apply wax to prevent further damage. Brian recommended for me to wax my car on my own, and to come back for an exterior detail in about 6 months which I will definitely be doing!
