Austin Dermagraphix Tattoo

I am new to Austin, and I’ve never gotten a tattoo before. Jose is the bomb, but they were all great… patient with me and didn’t intimidate me out the door. Very reasonable prices and extremely welcoming! Not to mention my tattoo was quick and came out beautifully. Highly recommend coming here if you are looking for somewhere to go in Austin!

Got my first tattoo here with DJ. He was so kind and really took the time to make sure he could design something exactly how I wanted it. He made me feel calm and did an excellent job. I’m so glad I came here!

Everyone at Austin Dermagraphix is awesome. Very talented people in this place. It’s clean and the deco is awesome. It just has a really great atmosphere! I highly recommend getting work done here!

This review is for the laser removal– I’ve never received a tattoo here. Shane does my laser removal and he’s great! He’s very patient– as someone doing this should be– it hurts like hell! He gives me cold packs to numb the area and lets me change positions as many times as I need to in order to get as comfortable as I can (which sometimes is a lot haha). He goes above and beyond to make the process as smooth as possible. The first time, he got me in immediately, and sends me texts to remind me of my appointment the day before. Though I don’t talk to anyone else in the studio, they all seem nice and welcoming. They’re doing it right! (And the laser tattoo removal DOES work!)

I have received 2 tattoos to date from Austin Dermagraphix (don’t you love the name?!) & have been VERY satisfied by the results. Both times I was seen by Jose who does an amazing job at being specific about details (colors, lines, placement, etc) as well as personable with me as a customer. Paperwork and expectations were laid out at the get-​go and Jose was always transparent with me on pricing, time, and his commitment shown through his art is admirable and commendable.
The shop is very clean, inviting, and has a couple of comfortable couches for your bum as you wait for your artist to get everything set up and situated for you.
Listen, if you are coming in here (or anywhere for that matter), be sure to watch your tattoo artist, piercer, and/​or last removal person and how they set up their area (s) for you. You need to be mindful of what they are doing, how clean the area (s) are, and understand that if you see something that is questionable you should always ask! All of the artists here are professional and want you to be a happy and clean customer. They welcome any ideas, comments, questions, and all the things you may have in mind as you await for your new piece of art.

they accept cash and cards, have a waiting area and available ATM machine. i called to schedule an appointment however they could not see me right away and i had to wait over 2 hours. The bathroom was clean and the staff was nice. They also have piercings and tattoo removal available.

Awesome experience! Loved everybody there. Whether you are in the market for a new tattoo or to get rid of one you already have, their experience and service is outstanding and they have a great selection of jewelry for piercings.

Sarah is amazing. She pierced my 3 year old’s ears and did a perfect job. She was extremely patient with Max (when she decided she only wanted to do one ear because it hurt) and was really great with befriending her. Not only did she pierce my kid’s ears for me, but she also helped me custom design a couple of pieces of jewelry for my tragus piercing. She was so patient while I kept changing my mind on the design! She’ll be piercing my cartilage later this month too, and I can’t wait.
As far as tattoos go, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Jose and Marco have both tattooed me and are both exceptional. The tattoos look like they were drawn professionally right on my skin, the artwork is just THAT GOOD. I get so many compliments on the realism and the design. I really cannot recommend Austin Dermagraphix enough. Best tattoo and piercing shop in the Austin area and quite possibly, Texas. Cheers! :)

Awesome place! Haven’t had the opportunity to get to get any tattoos there YET, but definitely plan on it in the future. I am on session 4 of my tattoo removal (god awful tramp stamp done when I was 17.)
I was extremely freaked out on my first session, assuming It would be an excruciating painful procedure. I cannot say enough about Shane, he is awesome!!! He completely calmed my anxiety ridden self down, assuring me that it would be a very quick process and it wouldn’t be nearly as painful as what I envisioned… just minor discomfort for a few seconds. He was right :)
To the most important part of the review– not only is Austin Dermagraphix and all of their staff amazing… I have had great results with my removal process. After a few more sessions my horrible teenage mistake will all be one bad nightmare…

I am writing this review for the laser removal side of this business.
I am very pleased with my results even after 2 sessions. I have been to 2 other tattoo removal places outside of Texas, so I have some experience.
Tattoo removal is painful, get over it. When they use creams and or ice this will compromise the removal process (I have learned this online).
I feel like Austin Dermagraphix is an honest, knowledgeable company that provides and good service at a great price. Hopefully I will never get a awful tattoo and have to use them again…

I’ve had several laser treatments on an unfortunate tattoo of my ‘baby daddy’s’ name I got when I was a very bright 20 year old. Thank GOD it’s almost gone. Unfortunately no thanks to this place…
I got a living social deal for tattoo removal here. The deal was for 3 sessions but I only went to the first and asked for a refund from living social. (Didn’t get it btw) I didn’t feel like the technician knew what she was doing. It was entirely too painful compared to the other times I’ve had it done and she only zapped me maybe 10 times or so, so it didn’t even lift any ink.
There was another deal from them today under a new name. (Was Austin Dermagraphix, now Austin Laser Tattoo removal clinic) I was almost fooled until I looked at the address! Maybe she’s gotten better with time but I’m not chancing it.

Jose did a rib piece for me which was a copy of an incredibly intricate Basquiat painting. The piece was almost 100% color and Jose had to freehand the majority of the piece. He and the rest of the Dermagraphix staff sat with me past closing as Jose spent 5 hours patiently completing the piece. It came out beautifully and identical to the original; truly one of my best tattoos. This is a quality shop! My girlfriend also got a tattoo here with Marco, although I did not get work done by him I could tell Marco too is a talented, and experienced tattooer. The tattoo he did for my girlfriend also came out fantastic; it was done in a watercolor style with some really nice stippling. Our experience at Austin Dermagraphix could not have been better, I will come back to Austin just to get my next tattoo at Austin Dermagraphix!

AWESOME PLACE! My friends and I searched for a tattoo place in Austin for a while. Some places were either super sketch or based out of someones garage (not even joking -.-). This place is clean, modern and the staff is SO nice! I went to Marco and he was so professional, he took my unsure idea and turned it into something friggin awesome! I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! I’m going back real soon to get a piercing! AD is now MY legit tattoo place!

So my origanal tattoo artist, John has left. Now I see Jose. He is fr@&king amazing! I cannot stress enough how good it is to have someone as talented as this guy do your tattoo work. I got a limb thingy that I looked up on line and he made it his own. Next I found an abstract scorpian that he did the same with. He is awesome! My favorite tattoo ever! I cannot stress more how I love this place! Go here for tattoos and see Jose!

Love this place! Got a great tattoo and the people there are friendly and not pushy. Definitely stop in and see what they’re all about for yourself!

Friday the 13^th + $ 13 tattoo’s + $ 13 piercings = mid life crisis in full swing!
I went for the Fri the 13^th special because you just can’t beat a $ 13 tattoo. The problem with most other shops offering $ 13 tattoo’s is you have to choose from a list of already designed tat’s and all have to do with the number 13. AD allows you to have any tat you want as long as it fits in a 2×2 space. I brought in a pic of a shamrock and it turned out beautifully. Jose has a light touch and it barely hurt at all.
While I was waiting I started talking to the piercer (Kasey) and told her that even though I have some extensive tattoo’s, I am terrified of piercing. She assured me that 1) I am not the only tat’d person that feels that way and 2) the pain is not that bad. So I said let’s do it and proceeded to get my belly button pierced. I was shaking when she started, but she kept talking to me and helped me relax a little. She got ready, I felt about 3 seconds of burning pain, and voila, done!
OK, so my only problem this time. I checked in at 3:30 and I was not started on until 10:30. I was the last person they did. I feel like some people may have been taken in front of me that arrived after me. I was prepared for a long wait, but 7 hours made for a very long day for me. It was nice that they let you leave and come back, but it was still a very, very long wait.
Still, overall, I’m a happy camper. Thanks Jose and Kasey!
