History
Established in 1973.
In 1973, Dr. George Brown, a radiation oncology physician with M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, founded the group that would become Austin and Georgetown Cancer Centers as a means of bringing state-of-the-art cancer care to Central Texas. Since then, Austin and Georgetown Cancer Centers have acquired technologies and leading-edge capabilities found only in major academic cancer centers and has grown to become the premier cancer center for this part of Central Texas. The group follows two simple principles: Provide patients the highest standard of care, and do it with the utmost compassion and dedication.
