Austin Cancer Centers

I was diagnosed with a fist-​sized tumor in my brain. Most of it was removed through surgery, but the remainder required chemo and radiation therapy to treat. My radiation oncologist at Austin Cancer Centers has been Dr. Ghafoori, and I am happy to report that he has been a wonderful physician throughout my treatment. He has been straightforward with me, and most importantly, very open to responding questions that my family and loved ones have had about my symptoms and treatment. Family involvement in the cancer treatment and recovery process is a key component to success (it certainly was for me), and Dr. Ghafoori went above and beyond in this regard. Setting my family’s minds at ease allowed me to focus on my recovery. I also cannot say enough about the staff at Austin Cancer Centers. The therapists, nurses and tech staff all treated me with the greatest of respect and care. After 2 months of treatments, my tumor is no longer visible on scans. Although my journey isn’t quite complete yet, I would like to thank Dr. Ghafoori and his staff for getting me safely through the first stage of it!
